One of my best friends came down from Vegas for the weekend and was craving Mexican food. She saw this place and this was in my bookmarked places to try so I was like perf we're goin! I was unsure of what I wanted and the cashier suggested I can do half. I did 1/2 carne asada and 1/2 pastor wet burrito and 1/2 green and 1/2 red sauce lmao it was perfect. Service is great. Still one of the best places for Mexican food in Riverside (and believe me, I've eaten that all of them). They cook their meats on a charcoal grill outside and cut no corners on their food with amazing handmade tortillas and good portions. Try the sope, it's delish! I tried to call in an order but they didn't answer the phone so I drove over, ordered and waited for 40 minutes for my order. So a little inconvenience since they didn't warn me about the wait time. Especially since I was getting food for my family waiting at home You know that old saying everything of value is always worth the wait? Well stands true for this place. I judge a Mexican restaurant by its beans and rice. If they can't make tasty beans and rice the rest is usually just ok. This place has the best tasting beans and rice and the rest of the food tasted really good and was piping hot. I have not had fresh Mexican food like this in a long while. If you're planning to order for pickup try calling it in. If not plan on a wait, have a drink or take your party in for your meal. You will enjoy the food. The remodel of the old Ban-Thai restaurant looks nice. But it is still a small place and parking is what it is ...limited. Try it out I think you will enjoy it. I enjoyed a Cabeza burrito, which was delicious. The meat was tender and had that lip smacking goodness of slow cooked beef. Incredible food. Their carnitas and chorizo tacos are on different level as I asked them to come with flour tortillas. Understanding that the owners are from Sonora, Mexico so their style of meats and tortillas are so good! Everything is brand new inside. The problem here specifically in the burritos is the tremendous amount of Beans in. We don't ask for more meet we understand the price, etc., is calculate base in portion, that ok but compensating the size of the burrito by adding Beans and rice to the point to overwhelm the flavor and texture of the meat, it make the burrito to be just one more of the many in the market. No all the time more is good. My suggestion is to analyze your portion and no worried about how it looks or how much it weighs. Last but not least. Enabling the especial notes only will help to ask for light on Beans or green salsa, etc. I'm still going to order from here is good food. read more

We've been customers since they first opened, and the owners are truly amazing people. The customer service is always great and very attentive. We keep forgetting to take pictures, but the food is always delicious -- we'll definitely start snapping some before we eat! My daughter loves their tacos, but her absolute favorite is the flan. However, the bummer was.......the food! I could tell they put the love into it however the flavor was lacking. I was hoping for the char of the fire grilled meat, and it just didn't hit. I ordered 3 tacos (asada, pollo y carnitas). The tortillas are homemade, however they were thick and not flexible. Flavor was lacking and almost like pancake consistency. I have tried the new TACOS TACOS 3 times now. I would recommend everyone try them out. Their green chili pozole is absolutely delicious, with an excellent flavored green broth. The homemade corn tortillas are so yummy. I have tried the street tacos and they are good, but the meat needs a little more flavor. I tried 3 different meats, all needed a little salt. Yesterday I got their taco salad with the carnitas. It was a delicious, restaurant style, big salad. They have a mini salad too. Again the meat lacked a good flavor, but they gave you plenty of it. We went in the morning after church. I love that they have order at the counter option, which makes it great for large groups. Salsa bar that makes it easy to choose what salsa you like best. We ordered a couple tacos, a chorizo, breakfast burrito, and a protein bowl. The proteins were really good and had a lot of flavor. We also ordered a Horchata but were not impressed with the flavor. The side of beans were stiff like they were out of a can, or the last scrapings of the pan. Nothing looked anything like the Yelp pictures. On the upside, the flan was fantastic. Someone told me that they make it in-house. This is a small restaurant with minimal decorations, not much atmosphere other than the TV playing. The service is friendly when you order at the counter.
