Exciting return visit! It had been a while since I last visited, but I'm so glad I decided to come back. The menu has a great selection, portions are generous, and they offer a solid variety of drinks and craft beers. The highlight for me was definitely the flatas--thick, meaty, and perfectly crispy. Not many places in Riverside County even have them on the menu, let alone do them this well. Service was fast and friendly, and I really liked the mixed crowd--it gives the place a relaxed, welcoming vibe. We have been here to dine in and its always been delicious. This year for Father's day we ordered from their catering menu to go. This is such a great option for occasions like this where you KNOW that if you go to a normal sit-down restaurant you're always dealing with the wait times and crowds, etc. We ordered about a week in advance and everything was ready to go as soon as we walked in! They loaded everything up on a cart and walked it out to the car for us! We got two taco platters, one asada, one carnitas. It's $12 per person and comes with enough meat, homemade tortillas, onions, cilantro, salsa, beans, and rice for each person to have at least 3 tacos each. They don't skimp on the sides, either, so there's plenty to go around. The onions and cilantro are mixed together. So if you're one of those people who tastes soap when you eat cilantro, you can request them to come separate. We also ordered the elote and papas poblanos. So many options on the catering and regular menus! The meat is flavorful and the rice and beans are also really tasty. The beans, especially. I believe they are chorizo beans, yummy. The employees are always friendly and helpful. The place has a gas station motif and has always been clean. There's so much to feast on, whether it be to eat or for your eyes to see in the decor! The inside has a small bar top with 3 or 4 barstool seats and faces the window with a view of the outside. The main seating is outside with plenty of space. There's even a full bar outside that is beautiful and opens early (like 6am, I believe), and stays open late. They have awesome drink and specialty shot options. The duck fart shot is adorable. I was so focused on getting everything situated when we got home that I forgot to take food pictures! But I got some good photos of the inside and out. We were driving by and noticed the plants cut into the shape of low riders. We knew it was a spot we had to check out so we parked nearby on the street and walked over. It was pretty popular when we were there and had to wait a bit to order. We'd ate a little bit earlier in the day so we opted for a few tacos and drinks. We didn't realize when we walked in that there was a full bar outside, so that was a plus we ordered a margarita and a couple of beers and ate our tacos. Outside service was friendly. My go to is the Al pastor burrito. Their Al pastor is exactly how I like it to taste and I haven't been let down yet. The menu is a lil overwhelming and a tad confusing because there's just so much and the names of items r different IMO lol. The outdoor patio is great for hanging out, and the food came out surprisingly fast even though it was a bit busy. From the car topiaries to the gas pumps, they do it up right. I love the colorful setting, and we got a bonus of Christmas decorations. Very festive! The girl that helped us at the register was very sweet and served us with a smile. The food didn't take too long. For the World Cup the WiFi was down and couldn't stream the game on 5 of the TVs packed house and game only showing to half of the restaurant from the bar. First issue was holy crap I've never tasted drinks so watered down, in the 25+ years of going to bars these had to be the most blatantly watered down drinks I ever had. The food was mediocre at best, don't come expecting authentic Mexican food. The best things we ordered were the pirate tacos, those definitely held their own but everything else was pretty much bleh def not worth $100. When you walk in you order at the counter . We waited about 5 minutes or so for our order . Overall the tacos were super tasty . The chicken taco had really good flavor on it and it wasn't dry which was nice . The carne asada also had really good flavor as well . I really liked the decor of this place and I love that they have a full service bar where not only can I get tacos but I can get a nice margarita to go with it . Popped in for a quick lunch at the bar the other day. The service was legitimately great -- super friendly bartender, fast, and they actually checked on me without being annoying. The tacos? Swing and a miss...very little flavor, nothing worth coming back for. The tortillas held up okay, but the flavors were pretty basic and a little bland overall. Biggest letdown was the salsa. It's super watery (more like salsa soup) and they still serve it in those tiny little to-go plastic containers even when you're sitting right there at the bar. Felt cheap and inconvenient as the chips don't fit into the small containers. Prices are fair for what you get and the place has a great day drinking vibe. We were staying down at the Mission Inn and my son (who visits the area often) recommended this Mexican restaurant on the corner of Mission Inn and Brockton. In fact, he got so excited telling us about it that he decided to take the half hour drive out and join us down there himself! We are sure glad he did - Taco Station is fantastic! A short walk from our hotel (maybe a half mile of so), the theming of the restaurant is priceless - it's loaded with classic car and service garage memorabilia. I understand their outside bar area is a recent addition and, the Saturday of our visit, was replete with live DJ music and a variety of sports games on the many monitors ringing the area above the bar. The patio cultivates a relaxing, welcoming vibe, and the bar staff is friendly and efficient. Food ordering is a walk-up affair with outside patio seating. The register staff, busing crew, and food preparers are as equally pleasant and efficient as their bar counterparts. The salsa bar and beverage dispenser areas were clean - even with all the weekend evening activity - and outside tables were quickly wiped down and made ready for the next guests. We loved the food so much that we returned for a late breakfast the Monday of our hotel checkout. In appreciation of my son's dining suggestion, we gifted him some Pirate Tacos on our return home.
