Such a great place. The best customer service! We're too white and were naive and order our curry medium. We asked the waitress if we could maybe change it to mild and the manager and chef came out and took back not just the one curry but both to make mild to make sure we could taste the flavors he wanted us to in his food. Looking for something different on a Saturday evening. High ratings on Yelp! (and a coupon) convinced us to try it. It's just a little place West of Payson Hospital about 1/2 block. We were there about 8:00pm, and the parking lot was empty. Not a good sign. But as it turns out, we got the whole restaurant to ourselves, and an absolutely fantastic meal to boot! We shared the Tadka Snacks as an appetizer. Delicious! My personal favorite was the Vegetable samosa. Two different dipping sauces, one sweet, and one that reminded me of garlic/cilantro accompanied the plate. Really enjoyed this. For the main course, we chose Butter Chicken, and Vegetable Coconut Kurma, both medium heat. Heat level was about that of Tabasco, with the Kurma being just a tad hotter than the Chicken. Both dishes had wonderful flavors, though my personal favorite was the Chicken. The servings were generous, leaving enough for a light lunch as a leftover. Both were served in a unique and ornate metal serving dish that was heavy enough to keep it hot for the duration of the meal. The interior is clean and sparse, with murals on the walls depicting Indian people, scenery, and landmarks. The waitress was pleasant, happy and knowledgeable about the menu. When I had a question about the check, the owner quickly came to answer my questions, and we visited for a few minutes. Overall it was a great dining experience, and we would go back in a heartbeat. Dinner for two including appetizer, two entrees, Naan, and tip came to about $35. read more

We are traveling north through Utah from Arizona. About 200 miles ago I started wanting Indian food. Siri and Yelp led me to this place. It was excellent. My standby vegetarian dish is Chana masala, but it was not on the menu. Our server recommended vegetable coconut kurma. It was fantastic. This is the best Indian food I have ever had. Our group of 4 asked for top choices from our server, who was the owner. He had various recommendations, including coconut chicken and butter chicken. The meat was so tender. We asked for mild spicy and there was just enough heat to make it interesting but not in any way overwhelming. Phenomenal! We had to run down to Santaquin tonight so we thought we'd have dinner somewhere in the south end of Utah County for a change. This place popped up on Yelp and so we decided to try it. The building is nondescript with big BUFFET banners flying outside (for the lunchtime crowd.) We had the appetizers with Samosas that were perfectly crispy. For the main course we had Chicken Tikka Masala and Mango Chicken curry with (of course) garlic Naan. It was all beautifully presented, with fragrant spices. Delicious. To top things off we decided to grab some Peshwari Naan to go... we were already full but we love Peshwari Naan if it's done right. So I love Indian. I have never been to any Indian restaurant and hated it, until now. The balance was awful, the quality of chicken was moderate, and the prices were so outlandish. $2.50 for basmati rice?! Can you say rip off? And I am pretty sure I had tamerine broth, not sauce. I swear I tasted boxed corn bread in some of the appetizers. Oh, and don't even get the aloo paratha, it's shameful. Honestly, if I could give it a more negative review I would. We tried this place for the first time last week, and everything was so awesome. Best indian food I've had. It's family owned, and the staff was so kind and patient with our 2 little kids. Amazing host, authentic food. I would rate Tadka to be one of the most authentic Indian restaurant in Utah. It's specialty is the Tandoor bread that's cooked on authentic Tandoor clay oven. Curries have a genuine flavor and is very close to one you will find in North India.
