What a nice place! Was my first time there but my boyfriend highly recommended it. We used an Axxess card for half off a large pizza (12 slices), and then we split it together, we ended up paying $5 each. That's a great deal compared to other places so bring lots of friends. The staff was overall friendly and gave us some complimentary bread sticks and were nice enough to lower the music volume for us. It's a cute little area with different rooms and we got to sit by the nice fireplace. There's also an arcade and a TV room. It was dark out so we did not sit outside, but I like how they have different seating areas. We ordered a Hawaiian special and it was not the most flavorful pizza I've had, the taste is faint, but it was not a bad pizza, I was able to eat four slices without ever getting that too full and sick feeling. I would highly recommend going there and would most likely go again :) . read more

Came here for a recent fundraiser and was terribly disappointed. First off, their customer service is awful. The owner is really rude and when I came during lunch I caught the tail end of a conversation between him and a customer in front of me, in which he was telling her he would NOT give her the FREE breadsticks which they usually offer to every customer, because she decided to take her order to go. Finally, the owner shut up so she could talk and she told him that she already called ahead and ordered and because they did not have her order ready, since she was on lunch for work, she HAD to take the order to go. He was soooo rude to her and if I was her I would have just walked out. She told me and my friend she would never be back. He also told the other guy working to TAKE OUT the breadsticks that were already packaged in her bag because she decided to take her order to-go. What an ass!! Their pizza was eh, nothing fancy and their lunch special is hardly filling. Their "jumbo" slices are norma slices and their lunch left me hungry and sad. The ambiance is nice but the ownership shows a lack of class and appreciation to local customers. With all the delicious places to eat around state street, why go here? Also, as if this is not enough, we brought in a flyer which would donate 20% of my total purchase to the non-profit that was fundraising and the owner comes and tells us that usually for people using the 20% off, they do not get free breadsticks in house. clearly this guy never took basic math, i did NOT have a 20% off coupon you idiot, I paid 100% of my cost, so therefore I should get breadsticks. I think if they stopped offering breadsticks their lives would get better. For as top secret and valuable as they treat the breadsticks you would think they were protecting gold. So Lame! or maybe he just is unhappy because at 50+ years old he has to work at a pizza place. Whatever his deal is, he needs to learn a thing or two about good customer service. The food was tasty. The service was ehhhhhh. if this place is supposed to be wheelchair accessible, I'm curious how. I think the entrance had a ramplike entrance. But inside it's a different story as you had to walk up a couple stairs to get to the dining areas. That's not exactly "wheelchair accessible". read more

Sadly,Taffy's has gone down hill. We love that it is walking distance from our house and the comfy atmosphere is local friendly. However, we've now had two experiences with poor service and food. About 6 months ago we ordered a pizza delivery. We found out they no longer take local checks and the pizza had skimpy toppings and was under cooked. Last night we decided to give it another go. The service was bad. My husband paid for pizza and a beer. He had to wait until 10 ppl were served before the cashier told him the keg was empty. We sat outside and the waiter promised us three times he would light the heater but never did. To his defense it was busy but we felt ignored. When the pizzas came they were, once again, under cooked and toppings skimpy. To add to our disappointment my husband had "stomach issues" afterwards. Thought I'd be specific. We'd love to go back if Taffy's made some changes. Unfortunately, it is not the old Taffy's we used to enjoy and didn't mind spending a little extra for. read more

After a long hiatus from coming here due to increased prices and skimpy servings, I decided to return after new ownership just a couple years ago. They won me over with fantastic tri-tip (thick cut and super tender) sandwich and great wings. However, this weekend they lost me again with a measly serving of 2-4 wafer thin pieces of dried over cooked tri-tip. I returned the sandwich and they apologized and returned to me a sandwich which was still lacking in tri-tip and barely passable as a sandwich. I came because I had my Axxess card offer still and I'm glad I did! I ordered the lasagna and garlic cheese bread. I got my lasagna and we never got our cheese bread so we told the waitress and asked her to please cancel our order and if and asked for a refund. Another gal came out and told us the truth, that our order was given to the wrong table. She said that we were going to get a refund and still get the cheese bread. Taffy's could have given us a refund and be done with us but instead they were honest and corrected the error. I really appreciated that and will definitely be coming back. Excellent customer service for a late dinner. Arrived at 8pm, they close at 9pm, but were welcomed with hot, breadsticks and encouraged to take our time to enjoy the meal. This was my first time here. I have to say that I grew up in an Italian family that usually made it's own pizza. I got the vegetarian and asked for extra sauce. I think the sauce makes a pizza with the proper dough right behind that. The pizza had plenty of veggies and the dough was good but the sauce was parse, even after asking for extra on the order. In the past month I've tried to order during their delivery hours twice (1+ hours before close) and they told me they aren't delivering. I also called 2 hours before close to pick up and they said they turned off the oven already due to "not much service". The pizza is pretty good but the cheese they use oils off when they cook it so it's a little on the oily side. Good quality toppings and I liked the crust. The sauce was a little on the mild side for me but that is just a personal preference. I know plenty of people that like a mild pizza sauce. I just personally prefer a big zesty pizza sauce. They have free fresh baked bread twists while you wait which is a nice touch but what will bring me back next time is the wings. They brought them to the table still piping hot. They were still good and crisp from the fryer and the buffalo sauce is a great classic buffalo style with just the right amount of heat. read more

By far our favorite pizza place in SB! Best Ranch dressing I've ever tasted and their breadsticks are to die for. You've got to try the tri-tip & avocado sandwich! Amazing salads also. Beautiful patio so you can eat outside when the weather's nice or a cozy fireplace room to eat in when it's cold. Great for kids too...nice big highchairs and little plastic tables and chairs out on the patio you can put next to your table for the kids to sit at. There's a nice shelf of kid's books you can read while you wait for your food to arrive as well as coloring pages by the front door and a fun video game room. We live just up the street from Taffy's and pop in for dinner a couple of times a month. The folks there are all great - often recognizing us and greeting us as we walk in the door. The back patio is a great place to hang out with the family while enjoying pizza and a local beer. My son is crazy about the breadsticks and red sauce. As an added bonus, they sell their sandwich bread by the loaf and we'll often pick up a loaf over the weekend to use for sandwiches during the week. read more

The pizza was delicious, but what I really loved about this place was the atmosphere. It's very homey and family friendly. We had some very simple complimentary bread sticks before our pizza was ready and they looked very homemade. Our sever came and checked on us regularly and was very genuinely friendly. Taffy's never disappoints. I think I may have to join a therapy group - Calzones Anonymous - due to my addiction. Any other calzone will be a disappointment, so you may want to really ask yourself if you can handle a life of disappointment if for some reason you are unable to get another Taffy's calzone. They are certainly not the typical small pizza pocket that so many other places call a calzone. They're stuffed with so much goodness. Although a normal person could probably get two meals out of a calzone, you have to have the self-restraint to stop eating it. That is a little tough for me. You can taste the quality ingredients in every bite. To top off the great food, you get to interact with really nice employees. They're funny and offer good ideas for future calzone bliss.
