The server who took care of us was very nice and quick. The atmosphere was pleasant. Me and my husband sat in a booth and there was an outlet with 2 usb port too. They give you garlic bread roll with marinara sauce on the side as a complimentary. The foods I ordered: crispy calamari, the board, tomato basil (soup of the day), shrimp fettuccine alfredo, and buffalo chicken pizza. The calamari was decent and not bad. Usually non asian restaurants don't keep the tentacles but this place does luckily. The board I can't say much about it because I rarely get them. The tomato basil was very acidic and had a subtle nice flavor. The pasta were a bit soft then al dente. The buffalo chicken pizza was alright. The dough was well done and just slightly better than what you get from a pizza place. I did order a dessert: creme brulee. It was actually not bad. It was smooth and the sugar on top was a bit chewy. Overall, this place is better than other Italian Americanized restaurants. Why 4 stars? Because this is a great dinner option when I'm in town visiting my parents. --- --- --- According to the guy we talked to who worked here, Taglia opened September 2019. I was last in the area in December 2019 and it must not have had enough reviews for me to spot it while browsing Yelp. This time around, I saw it and immediately knew it was a place we needed to check out. We ended up ordering takeout to avoid subjecting other patrons to our children, but according to my brother who lives nearby, the renovations had the building looking amazing compared to what it was before. As for the food, my experience was mixed. The manicotti bites that my wife ordered as an appetizer were a big hit with everyone. And my brother's fettuccine alfredo was absolutely the best I've ever had. I stole two bites of his and was immediately filled with envy over his order. But my main entree was the Fettuccine Di Mare and I thought it was just okay. I definitely would not need to order it again as it wasn't very memorable. We finished off with the M&M's S'mores Pizza, which was pretty tasty but just a tick down from what I was hoping for. The photos of made it quite literally look like the greatest edible creation in the history of mankind, but it was not quite that. Maybe those expectations were a bit lofty. The wait staff was friendly and professional and wore masks all the time I was there. No gloves but that's okay. The lava cake dessert was good but not great. But I didn't complain! Hit the spot . People at our table did order some adult beverages (including myself ) and they were all good. My old fashion was good and my wife's blackberry mojito was pretty good! The service is amazing. The food is not bad but not great. I do feel for this price point there are definitely better options. As for the bread if you're looking for bread like Olive Garden or Angelo's in Bay Area this is not the place for it. It's a yeast roll glasses in garlic butter. Taglia is absolutely chef's kiss. If it was socially acceptable and equally hygienic to head back to the kitchen and lay a fat one on the chef, I would've. Gosh, that's how you know we're not in Italy. If only. But we are in some kind of reminiscent of it because the food at Taglia was yummmy. My best friend ordered a meatball appetizer that was tender and flavorful and I remember laughing because she let out an audible moan with the first bite. Do keep in mind that we were starving and it hit all the right spots. For the main dishes, we went 50/50 on the buffalo pizza and margherita. That's her inner hipster going against my inner traditionalist, but finally deciding we can live together in harmony. The margherita pizza was super oozy and cheesy, great pull, kind of lacked a crunch but was good pizza regardless. I wasn't in the mood for buffalo, but the buffalo pizza was also yum when dipped into a side of ranch. And if you don't think ranch goes with pizza, all I have to say is you haven't lived and/or have a lactose intolerance. For that I am sorry. What's cool about the lasagna we also ordered is that when it's being shared between two people, they halve the order between two dishes so we don't have to grab an extra plate ourselves to split. Which is always awesome. Lasagna was molten hot upon arrival, I definitely burned my mouth but was happy about it, the sauce was yum and honestly just as great the next day since I was so full. The part that really stuck out to me was the service. Our waitress was amazing and made sure to come by to check on us consistently and to clear the table. The manager even stopped by to ask us about our dining experience. They were able to seat our party of 6 right away and I really liked the vibe of the place, it felt trendy but casual. To start off, we ordered the mozzarella sticks and the goat cheese dip. The sticks were okay, I probably would have ordered something different like the lasagna egg rolls. The goat cheese dip was amazing though, especially with the bread they serve with it. They also give complimentary rolls with a red sauce, but you can ask for dipping oil with no extra charge (I liked the oil more with it). I ordered a side ceasar with my meal and it was okay, nothing special, just a little extra anchovy flavor, which I like. I also got the pasta alla vodka with grilled chicken. I def recommend getting the chicken with it cause it adds extra flavor. For me, I just feel like some of the dishes needed more flavor but I added red pepper flakes and that really helped. I came to Taglia sometime close to it's grand opening, and it was ok then. Today's food is a result of trial, error, and most surprisingly, having a humble heart & mind. If it's any business that deserves recognition and a beautiful success story, it's Taglia. But don't be fooled by it's title, though; you actually won't find any tagliatelle here (for now). Fear not, ask for their camponelle. I've been missing something like this in my life, and I'd be shocked if something like this was not created with in-house made pasta. For me, it was perfectly al dente. If it's not, you can bet money that if you politely (or not) tell the server that you aren't satisfied with the result, and they will do their best to reconcile the issue. Restaurant owners take feedback very seriously and often look at our reviews, making drastic changes to their dishes in hopes to tip the scale in the favor of traditionalists but still want something that will please the palettes of their general consumer base (e.g. if memory serves, they've taken a step back in throwing heavy cream in their pesto pasta). Their zucchini frittes since the beginning have maintained their original vision; what once was a soggy stick with breading that fell apart upon light contact is now... well, quite the opposite. It's not a masterpiece yet, but in time I hope they find the tips and tricks to make it so. Can we please talk about the complimentary bread rolls, 'cause honestly, they're pretty damn good. It came with a nice marinara sauce for dipping; not quite my thing, but I can see it being a fan favorite. I asked for a seasoned olive oil dip with balsamic vinegar and their team obliged happily. For the price, I can't really complain. It's the most Italian place in MILES, and I'm glad I'm only an exit away. Is it the best Italian food I've ever had? No. That award goes to Olive Garden--I'm kidding..! C'mon--sarcasm, guys. But seriously, I stand by the statement about it being one of the best in the general southeast HTX area. You'll easily have to pay twice as much for half the portions elsewhere, and of course, I know where I'd go for a bite that obligates me to dress up and pay those amounts (and be VERY happy to do so)... but sometimes you don't want to do that and that's ok. Hospitable Taglia has your back. So is it 100% authentic Italian? Of course not. How can they be when 95% of the population eating your food also likes French fries, chicken nuggets, and pizza rolls. Good luck beating families into submission with sauce that's made strictly of tomatoes and a pinch of salt and pepper. I don't know what else to tell you guys. Had a great experience on Father's Day. Chicken Marsala and red potatoes went very well together. The Lasagna was some of the best we have had. Our son had fettuccine Alfredo and loved it. Great local Italian restaurant with a great staff. The atmosphere was also nice and pleasant. I always like to find out the story behind restaurants and how they got started. Her story is interesting. The waiter filled us in when asked. She also owns the brunch place located in same stripe center and a Greek place not far from there. Took off a star due to lack of cheese in lasagna. Also was disappointed when I went back 7 days later, they had increased their prices on EVERYTHING!! Most items were $1 increase, but the side salad jumped from $3.99 to $5.99!!!! The grouper went from $21.99 to $24.99. And the big kicker was the charcuterie board went from $14.99 to $22.99!! What the heck folks! Oh and when I asked the server about getting more cheese on the lasagna, as I didn't get much last time. She was super sweet. But the lasagna came out the same as last week. I am really torn on a rating for this review. My thoughts of the place while in the restaurant went from hot to cold really quick. A lot of the local foodie pages on social media really praised this place so we came to celebrate my mom's birthday here. We were a party of 9 and they only would seat us when half the party was there which is a normal thing, except the place was empty when we arrived. Half the party got there and we were seated and our waitress didn't even acknowledge us till the whole party got there. Our whole party was there within 10 minutes but it still took her awhile to come to us. We ordered drinks and before we could say anything else she walked off mid sentence. Drinks came by other staff and we didn't see our waitress to order for a long time after that. No bread was delivered to the table until after we ordered our food. At this point we were 45 minutes in. The redeeming thing about Taglia was the food. It was outstanding. The complimentary bread with marinara was so good. The marinara was perfect with just the right tang and garlic flavor. We ordered a large Might Meats Pizza to share while we waited on food. We all agreed the pizza was top notch. We got a variety of entrees. I went with the Pollo Parmigiana. It's their take on chicken parm. It came with spaghetti and a side. I asked for a different pasta if possible and there was a 2.99 upcharge which I thought was a little spendy considering almost every other place I've been does it without the extra charge. It's the same quantity just different sauce. That being said the chicken and Alfredo were very delicious. The side of potatoes were heavy on rosemary but it was delicious excellent as well. Everyone at the table enjoyed their entrees as well. Even my baby niece couldn't stop eating my extra expensive Alfredo. It was my moms birthday and we always go hard on the desserts but nope, all we got was the check. At that point, we said let's go home or elsewhere for dessert. So as you can see, I really agree with the higher ratings as far as the food goes, but in my book, service gets judged just as equally as the food. Our waitress really had no customer service skills at all. Maybe she was having an off day. There's a lot of Italian options in and around town for me to even consider coming back. I heard a lot of good praise for this Italian restaurant so I decided to come here with my significant other for Valentine's Day. There was no wait as we were seated immediately & brought fresh bread quickly. We ordered an appetizer of fried calamari & upon receiving it was very delicious it complemented with the lemon juice. Finally ordering our main dishes I decided to go with Fettuccine Alfredo & Chicken Masala. Unfortunately the wait of our food took about 20-30 so it wasn't that great & finally receiving it I was pleased how well it looked so I thought. The Fettuccine Alfredo was very creamy & delicious but its counterpart the Chicken Masala was a disappointment. It lacked flavor & for some reason the chicken was rubbery & very tough I felt disgusted. My significant other ordered spaghetti with red sauce & I also tried it wow that was horrid.... Great food that is fortunately less than 5 minutes from my home. The food is very fresh and the service polite and swift. Ive had their chicken Marsala with the recommended cauliflower mash on the side. I had no idea I could actually like mashed cauliflower more than mashed potatoes but they season their cauliflower mash to perfection! It's got the perfect amount of garlicky buttery goodness. The chicken marsala was also quite delicious. 2 Tender, juicy chicken breast with a yummy mushroom marsala sauce. I've only done their curbside drive-thru due to COVID-19. They have a very efficient drive thru system. I do look forward to dining in after the pandemic. Overall very good, fresh and healthy food. read more

I think there is such a thing as service being "too good". When you go out to a nice dinner, you want to have time to chat and relax. When we went here, we had our entrée leftovers wrapped into to-go boxes before we even had time to finish our drinks. It made us feel rushed, which is just not desirable at a this price point. As for the food, the noodles in my pasta dish felt like they were overcooked as did the calamari, which was rubbery as if they had been sitting in the sauce "staying warm". My husband had the chicken marsala [which comes topped with a sauce] and he said it was dry as if it had been sitting under a heat lamp waiting to be served. The best thing we had was the appetizer which was breaded crab claws with a jalapeno dipping sauce; even my 7 year old liked them. We both agree that we would not go back to this place even though the service was friendly. First time trying Taglia this evening. I'll start off with saying this is not your typical Olive Garden or Carrabbas. Everything here is freshly prepared and you can tell with the flavor!!! I started off with the meatballs and side salad. The side salad was one of the best I've ever had, anywhere! The greens were firm and fresh, and the Parmesan was a nice touch to the ranch. Their ranch isn't hidden valley either! If you like ranch, there's nothing better than fresh ranch! Nom Nom! Meatballs were plentiful with basil gently dancing on the pallet. It came out hot with a cute presentation in a little black skillet. I of course ate it with the fresh bread they provided. It made the perfect scoop for a sauce to meat ratio. Thus far I'm doing the happy dance in the booth, everything's been so good. Next to my entrée!!! I ordered the spaghetti carbonara and added a breaded chicken breast. I love that they ask if the yolk is okay. I of course love the yolk, because traditional carbonara comes with it. If you've ever made fresh noodles, you know the texture is different than boxed. They have FRESH NOODLES!! Such a tedious process to prepare! Big kudos on that!! They're not Al dente, but soft with firmness to them. They complimented the sauce wonderfully. It came out so hot from the kitchen, you can see the steam rolling off the pasta! Definitely an amazing Carbonara!! Once it became room temp the flavors really started poppin through. My server was Derthi N and she did amazing. Never had an empty tea glass, and was very helpful and prompt with her service.
