Surprised I hadn't reviewed this place yet, as it is one of our favorites here in Clovis when we want a special treat. The food is SO GOOD. My favorite is the herb stew, it comes with the really cool rice that has some crunch and is delightful. My husband's favorite is the lamb shank. The rice portion size is large and I often do not end up finishing my rice. I miss the pre-covid times though as one of the best things about this place is the cute calm and dim romantic intimate interior, and the cool appetizer thing they give you before your meal which has mint, red onion, some sort of dairy thing I forgot, and bread (a winning combo). The last time we went to eat during Covid, we ate outside with our "to-go" foods (no more waiter service), bought water bottles, and shooed mosquitos away. They did give us some complimentary bread which was delicious. read more

Location of the restaurant is on east side of the movie theater. My first time eating at a Persian restaurant. I was so excited to try. The was delicious and didn't disappoint. We ordered the chicken and rice that was browned on top as well as Lamb chops with more rice and yogurt dipping sauce. We also ordered an appetizer eggplant base with bits of sumac. Along with a Pita type bread was very good. Service was quick and friendly. I'll definitely be back soon. The only item I didn't care for was the rice dessert. It was cold dessert. It's been a while since food has been so exceptional that it makes me want to write a review so everyone knows how legit and tasty it is! This isn't a "5 stars to help a family business" rating, it's "5 stars because this is one of the best tasting, authentic, and exciting meals I've had in a long time" rating! I even had several mishaps with ordering trying to use yelp/grubhub and the food was so good that I don't even care what it took to enjoy this meal, it was worth it! Also, the three things on the menu I wanted to try weren't available so I had to select three different items and it still blew me away! I got the herb stew, the beef/lamb and chicken kabob plate, and the star of the freaking show - the lamb shank and fav bean! OMG I could eat this food for days it's so good.. Our first having trying Persian food, and this gem of a restaurant did not disappoint! It was a last minute decision, we totally forgot to check Yelp, and had no clue what to order or expect. We decided to play it safe and ordered the lamb chops and a lamb wrap. We were both blown away by the quality and deliciousness of the food, as well as how large their portions are! The lamb chops were very tender and well seasoned, the rice that accompanied the dish was amazing, and their Persian flat bread is heavenly. We are former customers of the Caspian Grill at Fowler and Kings Canyon. We have not found another Middle Eastern restaurant in Fresno Clovis comparable since they closed during the virus. Tah Deeg is very very good. Ingredients are fresh and well presented in the dishes they serve. The pita alone is worth going. Light and spongy with perfect Iranian hummus on the side. I know alcohol is not big in the Middle East, but a nice beer and wine list in California would put this restaurant over the top. read more

The rumor mill has it the owner comes from San Jose and opened this fanfare in Clovis thank goodness! I agree with some of the reviews here on how terrible the service is. We walked out after one hour of waiting for our food; and this doesn't include the 30 minutes wait for a table. We should have realized from the beginning how shitty this place is from the beginning... When we first walked in we were confused as to whether it's a restaurant where they seat you or if you seat yourself because no one greeted us so we assumed it was a sit yourself place, however when we tried to sit at the only table available the "hostess" finally said it was reserved and just left us standing there. I had to go up to the register area and asked how long it was going to take to get seated, which she said about 30 minutes which is no big deal, we'll walk around the mall. When we came back to be seated there was a table available but had to be clean, which I understand...another no big deal. Then when I wanted to try their lamb shank the server/hostess said they didn't have any which kind of bummed me out since that was the main reason why we wanted to try the place. Ok another no big deal...I ordered the royal dinner plate instead and my friend ordered the chicken Brest kabob plate. The final draw was. after waiting for an hour for our food (even though she said the food was coming 30 minutes before) we left. It was ridiculous. There's only about ten tables at the venue and at least 2/3 of the tables were already eating when we sat down to order so it shouldn't have taken that long. The only thing we did try was the store bought pita bread they served. I've eaten at many Persian restaurants outside of Fresno and theses places have always serve REAL Persian bread. The owner needs to revisit their business plans if they want to survive as there was another group of about 7 people that came in at the same time as we did and they left also after waiting for 30 minutes for a table (the table was available but the server just didn't clean the table). I would not be returning to this place or recommend it due to the terrible service. read more

Oh wow this place is SO good! I've been craving good, yummy, AUTHENTIC Persian food. There's only a couple places in town but they're all completely out of the way or have lost their quality over the years. So I was excited to try this place. I ordered the Chicken Breast Kabob Plate. It was amazing and the Tahdeeg Rice was so good!! I can't wait to try other items on their menu. Especially some of the stews. The reason I gave it 4/5 stars is because of the price. I think it's a little pricey especially for lunch (which is what I got) but definitely the quality and quantity of food that you get warrants the price. I just want it to stay and not fall under the same fate of other places in Fresno that have come and sadly gone. But stop by and you will be impressed! read more

Great place close to the airport. We were traveling from Yosemite to Sequoia and stopped here for lunch. Highly recommend for anyone that has a capsicum sensitivity or gluten intolerance. Our server, was very kind and knowledgeable of the ingredients used in the dishes. We had a very safe and delicious lunch.
