We came a little late here one day after a long drive and the owner (I think he was the owner anyway) was soooo kind and let us sit down and eat. He chatted with us throughout and was so friendly. Not only was he kind but his food was excellent. We got the hummus, beef koobeedeh, and chicken breast kebab. Everything was delicious and aesthetic. The portions were also very generous. Highly recommend!

When you first enter the restaurant, you are greeted immediately with warm smiles. The restaurant itself isn't that large, perfect for a quiet evening either solo, couple or small party. I received a complimentary starter of cucumbers, tomato and feta. I haven't had this in years back in Orange County. I told the owner (I think he was the owner) that I haven't had authentic Persian (Iranian) food for years. I was torn between the Koobideh and the Ghaimeh. I opted for the Koobideh and was brought a small bowl of Ghaimeh anyway (so sweet)! Everything was delicious ... full of flavor. They do not serve alcohol but I was okay with that. The pita bread was hot and delicious. It's obvious they pride themselves on their dishes. The waiter was super friendly as well. He had me smiling with his hospitality during my whole visit.

It might be unfair to call it a restaurant. I'd prefer to begin saying that I went to a Persian friend's house and they treated me like family. For someone who spends two weeks each month on the road, a great meal and kind humans can make the distance bearable. It's a cozy place with an open kitchen. I was immediately greeted by the owner. After some thought, I chose the lamb kabob special. Boom, it was epic. Perfectly cooked and salad and saffron on the side. How wonderful we have it in this country to have others come and share their food and kindness. Epic!

Tah Deeg is a hidden gem. Some of the best Persian food that I have ever had, in an unsuspecting place. Who knew that Clovis California would host such an amazing restaurant? Not me. This place is worth visiting more than once. We ordered the platter for four people which fed everyone at our table and gave us enough leftovers for the next day. They didn't last longer than the next day, though, because they were delicious. The portion was generous, which was good news because none of us could stop eating. This is one of the few places where I have been able to enjoy authentic varieties of Persian rice. From fava beans and herbs to barberries And a beautiful tah deeg finish. The evening that we dined in person, three staff members had called out. The owner and a couple of chefs were holding down the fort on a busy Friday night. The thing that stood out to me is that, on a 110° day, people were willing to eat outside. Let that sink in. The food was good enough that people (not me... I came in a little bit earlier and got one of the last tables indoors) we're willing to eat outside on Fresno July day during a heat wave nonetheless. The food is just that good. If you do happen to stop by and eat some dinner, make sure to save room for dessert. They have a wonderful ice cream dish that they serve with a very nice cardamom, rose, and pistachio ice cream. Truthfully, the ice cream alone is worth visiting for. This is not the place for a cheap date, but you can get in and out with a party of two for under 100 bucks after tip and tax. Definitely worth a date night!

The food here was amazing, first time trying "Persian specific" food. All meats cooked perfect, the rice was different but I really enjoyed it and the veggies/salad was a perfect complement of flavors. There was enough leftovers for another meal for 2 people. The service was great and server was very attentive. Nice clean restaurant with good amount of seating. It's right next to the Sierra Vista movie theatre in Clovis if you're looking for lunch/dinner after the movies or shopping around the area. Highly recommend!

The best Persian food restaurant in all of Fresno. Come satisfy your appetite for middle eastern food with the juiciest, best seasoned beef and lamb skewers. Beef filet, and Cornish hens, four types of rice and a lamb shank. It says it's for four people but can easily feed six! So worth it and you get to try nearly everything on the menu. Great service. We love that they are open on a Sunday. Nice decor and low lighting, great for indoor or outdoor dining.

Great service, food came out rather quickly, everything we ordered was amazing (recommend the pomegranate stew: tastes like sweet mole, the barberry rice and the ice cream). I highly recommend for a lunch date.

Ask the Community - Tah Deeg Persian Cuisine

Hi I am with a group of co-workers, where most are vegetarian. Are any of the koresh/stews vegetarian?

If memory serves, they do have vegetarian options. If you look on the menu tab on the yelp listing, they have pretty detailed descriptions... That might help as well. It's a great restaurant!

Just curious if you offer catering for private parties?

Who would love it if this place would do take out during this time to help keep this business open and running?

Yes, it will be a great idea.

    Do sell falafel?

I don't recall seeing it on the menu. Try looking at the menu on Yelp. :)

My husband really enjoyed the lamb and rice. I don't usually like lamb, but it tasted juicy and not too gamy. The ground chicken kabob was well seasoned but I preferred the beef kabob. The kabobs were good, and we're really elevated more by the garlic sauce. Overall, the food was tasty and the ambiance a little odd (probably just because of the game). Overall, meal plus tip was a little over $50 for 1 meal and ala carte 2 kabob mix.

My husband and I actually started coming here because we received a gift certificate on our wedding day, so every visit has always been meaningful to us. Unfortunately, our most recent visit completely changed how I feel about this restaurant. Our waitress was Brenda (a middle-aged Caucasian woman with glasses). I want to be clear about who served us because my receipt also listed the name Brenda, and I would hate for another employee to receive this review by mistake. We were seated fairly quickly even though it was a very busy night and the restaurant was full. I want to say upfront that I completely respect how hard servers work, and I understand busy nights happen. However, after sitting for quite a while without anyone taking our order, I politely told Brenda that we were ready. I am diabetic and was not feeling well, so the wait was starting to affect me. Her response was, "Sorry, we're really busy tonight and there are only three of us waitressing." I understood that they might be short staffed, but at the very least she could have taken our drink order. Instead, she continued cleaning tables and serving other customers. I watched four different tables get seated after us and receive drinks, salads, and appetizers before we even placed our order. As someone who has been coming here for years, I have never felt so uncomfortable or overlooked in this restaurant. In 2026, no customer should feel that way anywhere. When our food finally came, everything arrived at once -- our hummus, salad, and entrée -- which made the experience feel rushed and poorly handled. When I asked Brenda for more napkins, she never returned to our table. We eventually had to go to the register ourselves to pay because she never brought our check. Before leaving, I explained to her how the situation made me feel. She responded with several explanations about being busy and short staffed, but that was never the real issue. The issue was the way we were treated. She forgot who we were all night but when it came to pay my tab, she definitely knew what table we were sitting at because her response was. I'll get your tab for table 3.. The food was amazing as it has always been, but sadly the service we received completely ruined the experience. After nearly nine years of coming here, this will unfortunately be my last visit.
