We moved on to dishes that aren't coated in batter. I just ordered Shrimp with black bean sauce and Hot and Shredded Beef. We have gotten these dishes before. The problem is, on any given day, the dishes taste totally different. I had to check my order to make sure, I ordered the right dish. Today was bland, no heat, no taste. The shrimp were coated in a slurry which wasn't all the way blended. The hot and shredded beef had very little beef with all onions. As for the taste, there was none. We don't mind paying extra for good food, but with the increased prices, lack of consistency and zero taste... it seemed Wendy is lacking effort. The Wendy that I knew through the years cooked with love and pride. In my experience that is no longer the case.

My special order is Chow Fun noodles with nothing on them with a side of brown Egg Foo Young gravy. The general tso's chicken was very meaty but had a different kind of sauce than I've gotten in other places; it was more barbecue-like than the thick, sweet, spicy, orange glaze I'm accustomed to. The chicken in garlic sauce was good. The chicken, as well as the vegetables, were shredded, which is different than I'm accustomed to. The chicken lo mein was perfect with a tasty smoky flavor. I'm taking one star off for the egg rolls which are always my favorite part of a Chinese dinner. They weren't piping hot, right out of the fryer. While tasty, they were only a bit warm and soggy.
