Stay away. I would give it zero stars if I could. They injured our dog and then tried to blame the victim. We were excited to bring our 5-month-old puppy to their facility. We dropped him off for an "evaluation." He came home after 2 hours with a broken leg and over $7,000 in vet bills. His "evaluation" consisted of throwing him in an indoor/outdoor play yard with 28 other daycare dogs all sizes and ages with little or no supervision and only one worker. Owners do not seem to care that he was injured at their facility and claimed that he had a pre-existing injury. He was completely healthy when we brought him into Tail Gate and had a broken leg when we picked him up. I would NOT recommend this place at all.

Dililah is my 8 pound Rat Terrier and she has been having fun at TailGate since October 2019. Samson is my big 85 pound Bulldog/Coonhound mix and he has been coming here since Feb 2021. My dogs go in at least once a week for a good full day of play, they are exhausted for the next 24 to 48 hours after I pick them up. This is a no brainer. They seperate the dogs in groups so they get maximum play with dogs at the same level. The staff has always been friendly and I have never seen anyone in a bad mood. I know for a fact they do training while they are there, even though you only pay for daycare the staff works hard at keeping your dog safe (which includes them training your dog good behavior and dog play etiquette). When I take my dogs to the dog park I can tell my big boy has skills and training that I definitely did not teach him. My dogs get super excited for the 630am car ride to daycare!! I love they open so early too. My pack are tailgaters for life. Side note! My dogs have never come home with any wounds or signs of neglect. I'm sure it does happen but you have to remember they are dogs they play hard and sometimes dogs have bad days just like us. Kids go to daycare and come home with scratches, bumps and scrapes from time to time. It is no different when dogs play. I am satisfied knowing Tailgate employees will do everything possible to keep your dog safe and from harms way.

We reached out to Kendra at Canine Peace of Mind after recognizing we had training gaps with our…read moretwo Irish Terriers (1yr & 2yr olds) that we didn't feel we could overcome on our own. We were dealing with food & high value treat /toy aggression, leash & barrier aggressions, and their coming on call (especially when chasing rabbits were more fun situations than coming to mom & dad) was unreliable at best. Enter Kendra at Canine Peace of Mind. Kendra worked with us on the best board & train program for each of them, customizing their 'stay' schedules based on progress and behavioral shifts. We sent both our dogs to CPM from Sept 2018 - Oct 2018. Kendra knows how tough it is to leave your 'kids' for that extended period of time (because she's done it too!) and made sure to send us picture and video updates on how each of them were progressing. Seeing the quick process made the distance so worth it. Fast forward to picking our pups up on handover day and the difference was remarkable. But it was on us to take those skills & discipline home with us. A couple months into having them home (Jan of this year), we recognized we still needed help (user error!) and Kendra did a house call, free of charge, to help us in reigning in & tightening up their training & our/their behaviors. What an immense help as we saw immediate change and are continuing to build that owner/dog trust together. Here's the from / to for our pups and our family: - From never being able to walk in public on a leash for fear of lashing out against another dog (even when across the street) to walking twice a day at heeling position for 2-3 miles a day, despite what we encounter. - From not having reliable recalls in the least, to trusting our dogs (and because we have grown into much more confident dog owners, trusting ourselves) to have them off leash. We love to go get the mail, take out the trash, etc. together with our dogs. - From breakfast & dinner times being HORRIBLE experiences due to fighting, low growling, & crate checking to having peaceful feeding times. - From having no control during high energy times to having a tool & command for them to go to a dedicated 'place' in any room to calm down and give each other (and us) space. I could go on. But what I would say is if you are encountering any of the above issues, please consider Canine Peace of Mind and their board & train programs. As working professionals that knew we didn't have the time or expertise to dedicate in order to get our pups where they needed to be, we are so happy we did. It has transformed the time we get to all spend together from dread to time that we look forward to because it's happy & enjoyable (which is why we all got these guys in the first place, am I right?). They also offer day care & boarding. We have taken them up on boarding a few times as we know that they get a bit more attention than any standard boarding and they are held accountable to their training just as much there as they are at home.

She and her team are fabulous. Our puppy was fairly well behaved before training, however came back after training as a SUPER well behaved dog. The best part of being part of Canine Peace of Mind is that they are available for you even after training with any questions you may have. Highly recommend this company.

Our unique situation of moving across the country with a much different living situation went very smoothly with our dogs because Jamie prepped them for all the new things they would encounter. I wish someone had told me to get myself trained before I got a puppy. As he grew I realized no matter how many youtube videos I watched it was not enough! I found Jaime through a local doggie daycare ... We decided the 2 week board and train would be best for our situation. Denali is a Bernese Mountain Dog/Poodle mix and was jumping, barking, crazy Impulsive, eating socks, and paper things. Just 2 weeks of training and he was calmer, he would stay on a "place" his cot, he didn't drag me on our walks. People would say how well he would behave then when they found out he was less than a year old they were amazed. OMG I love Jaime she has been a GOD Sent. Jaime came back for a follow-up visit and had to run back to her car and Denali actually cried when she left. He loves her and so do I! Thank you for all you help and continued support. This is my first review on Yelp but Brooks has been a tremendous help with training my dog, Cooper,…read moreso I thought it was necessary to return the favor. :) I got Cooper back in August of 2018 as he needed to be rehomed for various reasons--my boyfriend and I were quick to realize that he had not had any form of training while at his previous home. Desperate for any sort of help, I researched dog training facilities and found Brooks. While the price was steeper than I was expecting, the 2-week board and train provided a foundation for Cooper that I would've never been able to accomplish in that amount of time. It was obvious that Liz, our trainer, really cared about Cooper's progress and she was very transparent in what I should expect Cooper to learn in the 2 weeks he was being trained. I appreciated that she was honest and upfront on what the expectations should be, instead of making grandiose promises in order to get my business. The 2-week board and train also came with 3 follow-up sessions with Liz to go over the training and to answer any questions I had. I thought these sessions were immensely helpful and I appreciated each one. Since then, I have continuously used Brooks for boarding and daycare, both of which have been great experiences. Cooper is always excited to go to daycare during the week and comes back a tired and happy pup. If I had anything to suggest, it would be to add cameras for clients to see their dogs. I would love to be able to watch my dog via webcam while I am at work. Overall, Brooks has been a lifesaver and I wouldn't have been able to survive these past few months as a first-time dog owner without them. A special thank you to Brittany and Liz for being so wonderful to work with! :)

Colton taught us the skills to help us control him better and get him to listen to our commands. Still has the energy but we can control him so much better now. Would definitely recommend training with them. We are so much happier and our dog is to.
