We just got a 8 week old Aussiedoodle puppy at the beginning of this month, earlier than we originally planned. I was still in full-time classes with finals coming up and my fiancé is an intern, so we were desperate to find someone to let the puppy out/give her attention when we both had long days. Dogs Love Running was the answer!!! It was particularly hard finding someone because she is a puppy. The first week we had her, just as we were getting to know her, we had to explain her to someone else. We needed someone who would know how to respond to her if new behavior cropped up. It was also tough because needed sessions about every 2 hours so she wasn't in the cage longer than her developmental stage made room for. I was nervous about having just anyone spend time with her since anyone who spends time with a puppy is bound to leave impression. Especially when they play the role of a handler. When I met with Amy, I immediately felt confident that she knew how to help us. Even during the time we had services with them, things were constantly changing as our puppy continued to grow. So I was in contact with Amy often to update her and adjust things, she was always receptive to it all. As a new puppy owner, I really appreciated that! The main ways we benefitted: Our puppy was socialized with a person very knowledgable and confident in dog care. She was kept in her cage only for reasonable amounts of time and Amy was flexible to meet her needs. Housebreaking could continue seamlessly, and she is already pretty reliable in this area now at 11 weeks old (thank god!!!). She received play time, so when we finally got home after our long days, we didn't have to wear out a puppy that might've been sleeping the entire time otherwise. Our puppy can be pretty high energy, and Amy seemed to accept the challenge enthusiastically, which really reassured me. We didn't have to beg family or friends to help us out with her care, we had someone who solely focused on the care of our pet. Finally, I feel so lucky that we have found a reliable group of people to help us as our pet grows! To me, their services are a resource that every dog owner should have. I cannot give enough positive feedback about DogsLoveRunning, since we joined in August 2013. We have two dogs--Sammie, a 3 yr. old Westie, and Titan, a now 9 month old Australian Shepherd. Our walkers alternate between Amy, Althea, and Colleen, all of whom are fantastic with our dogs. Our arrangement is the walker comes for a 30 min. session mid-day, and is fantastic at taking both dogs for a walk, bathroom break, and playing with them until I can come home from teaching. If the weather is snowy or rainy, they adjust as well, which I love, because they still give the dogs the time and attention needed from being home alone. The walkers leave a note with a checklist of what's been done during the session too, which is great for communication. I've been home once or twice when they've come for the walk, and Titan and Sammie are so excited to greet them, so I know there is a bond formed, and I whole-heartedly trust DogsLoveRunning taking care of my pets. Amy is wonderful at managing and modifying the schedule, since I teach, and often have breaks or some random days off. She's also great at responding to emails if I ask a request, such as administering medicine, using a different leash, or altering their feeding schedule. We started with Dogs Love Running in April and have been thrilled ever since. My wife and I work full time and have a rather hyper German Shepherd who needed something above and beyond the normal bathroom break and walk. Amy, the owner, met with us and walked us through their service options. A 30-minute run is what we decided on and it absolutely did the trick. Not only was our dog getting his potty break each day, but he was pooped by the time we got home from work. Dogs Love Running is reliable, flexible, and above all has excellent customer service. Amy was great with our 10 year old German Shepherd/Husky. We were on vacation for a week, and very worried about leaving him at home as he has seizures and health issues and needs to take medications. Amy was very professional and friendly at our first meeting and made me feel very comfortable about leaving our dog in her care. While we were gone we received updates via email and she always answered any questions we had. Upon arriving home, we found a very happy dog who had been well cared for and everything was done as we had asked. We have been using Dogs Love Running! of Elmhurst for a little over 1 year now for mid-day visits. Our bulldog Freckles is "special needs" and takes a very long time to warm up to new people. The owner Amy worked very hard along with her employee Ashley to get Freckles acclimated to her mid-day visits. Hi, I have two dogs that are very in love with the Dogs Love Running staff. They are so excited to go for a walk, get belly rubs, have treats and just love to give kisses to the staff. I live in Downers Grove, and Jeff agreed to run our pups while we were out of town to get out their extra energy. My husband and I adopted a 2.5yr old small breed poodle mix about 3 months ago and started using Dogs Love Running based on a recommendation from our neighbor. They have worked out great and we are so happy with the service. Our dog gets 30 minute walking sessions at least twice a week. We have used Dogs Love Running a few times now. We have two high energy dogs who don't do well boarding. This is definitely a healthier alternative! Ours dogs were relaxed and seemed well rested. DLR is always great! I really love that you can book online and that payment is automatic, makes life a little easier. I have used other services before and it wasn't as easy to book as this is, they were never available or was way more expensive.
