He was immediately taken to animal hospital and advised had to be put down for fractured back and kidney issues. When asked for an explanation Randa immediately sent a refund saying upon my request, which was just for explanation. When followed up was told I can't sue because I signed a waiver, that it was my fault for boarding an older dog and not boarded before. I never made any accusations or asked for anything but an explanation. I'm so devastated I left my pet/family member in their care.

It is simply a fenced area that happened to be there--and the dogs have to go down concrete steps. Great if you have a larger dog. Terrible if you have a mini dachshund--a breed that is not supposed to go down stairs at all. They are supposed to use ramps. I expressed my concern and said that would be a problem unfortunately and the reply is that she could learn to use them. I know that. The point is that medically, long backed low dogs are not supposed to use steps because of the association with IVDD/paralysis. With other choices we liked better, this was not the one for us.

The convenient Wheaton location of the facility is great for daycare and they also allow for half-day daycare too. Very flexible scheduling. When I pick my dog up, I can tell that she's received personalized attention from the staff and that she has been well cared for. Often she's been able to work one-on-one with a staff member for nearly all of her half-day session. We also attend the group classes which are incredibly unique and let my dog build up practice interacting with other dogs in a way that reinforce new, good behaviors. My neighbors are thrilled with the progress almost as much as I am - my dog no longer automatically barks at everyone outside now and is able to make new friends. The in home training we did originally was incredibly valuable to get us started on the right foot. We need to do that again very soon! Is it the least expensive daycare and/or training in the area? No. But it is ABSOLUTELY worth it. When I leave my dog in the care of The Canine's Voice I know that she's going to be safe, loved, and will learn a few things while she's there. Her approach is to "train the trainer", so that you are not accidentally giving mixed signals to your dog. We adopted our puppy during the pandemic, and she has always been scared of other dogs and people despite our best efforts to socialize her. The training techniques Mary taught us helped our dog to focus on us, instead of outside stimuli in public places and helped her be a bit less afraid out in the world.
