A great find in a town full of breweries and bars. I chose this place because it sits next door to the Chattanooga Choo Choo complex (total train tourist!!!). But this place was a winner even without the choo choo. Extensive beer selection. My friend did a flight and was excited about 3 of the 4 choices. I focused more of the food end. Great wings and pizza! The building is small with only a few tables. Being in a touristy area you will probably need to pay to park close by (we paid in the lot in the rear). While the Choo Choo seems to have some classier places, this was an absolute winner for us with a casual atmosphere. Definately on our radar if back in the area (or Nashville where they originate from). read more

Passing through Chattanooga on a road trip and this brewery was close by our hotel. Our bartender/server Alex was awesome and made the experience 10/10. He gave us recommendations and had such a warm and inviting vibe. The food was good, but we weren't super hungry so didn't get to try out the pizzas(which all sounded amazing) Wizard IPA and Limoncello Seltzer were 10/10 Casual atmosphere was perfect for us and our kids. First off- the service is outstanding! The bartender explained the menu, how to order and checked on us when she wasn't busy with others. Three other employees checked on us throughout our time there. When it got busy the manager came out to help. Everyone seems happy to work here. Excellent selection of beer and a few seltzer's and frozen slushies. The food items are what you expect to find in a place like this. The specialty pizzas are numerous. We had the pepperoni and feta. Stopped in for a couple beers. The beers were excellent, but our favorite part was Katelyn engaging us in conversation. She is a gem hang on to her. I will start with the good first. Great location in the middle of downtown, close to a lot of attractions. Apparently they pay their servers a living wage (advertise this in quite a few places around the restaurant) and cool space overall. If you are trying just to sit and relax downtown with a patio space this could be a nice spot. For the bad, I got the loaded Buffalo Chicken Fries which was advertised on the menu as a dish "for two (people)." Priced at $15.99 I thought I was going to get a tray of fries and chicken for my wife and me to share. This tiny bowl came out, with soggy chicken and perhaps 10-15 waffle fries. I was quite disappointed with it overall in terms of quality, quantity, and value of the meal. My friends got the large Hawaiian pizza, which was ok. I just think that at $30 you can get much better pizza at Pizza Bros for slightly cheaper or better yet just order Dominos for curbside pickup downtown. The really bad is that I asked our server if this was the correct size for the buffalo chicken fries and if this chicken was made right, and he said yes but if I didn't like it he would make it right. He asked for my name to refund the credit card that I used for the fries. My name is different than most people's name so he came back again since I assume he wrote my name down incorrectly the first time. Couldn't find me again, so a different server or possibly manager came to ask for my name to refund my credit card and fast forward 30+ days since this interaction and still no refund on my cc. I would have given them a 3 star, but for false promises of delivering fries for two, and not being able to write my name down properly for a refund really soured me on this place. 3 stars is reserved for bad service or bad food, 2 stars for achieving both in my opinion. I will not be going back, and wouldn't recommend this to my friends as a place to go. read more

TailGate's regular pizza menu is tasty and features a new pizza each month. My favorite was the 'Roni cups (pictured). Lastly, if you are looking for a place to watch sports look no further. We came here with the pink lemonade shandy on the brain. Unfortunately, it wasn't on tap. It could have sold out because it really is a different beer and a fun one to try. So, we had to shift and find something else to try. I ended up with the fruit punch seltzer which wasn't bad, but definitely no pink lemonade. The setup did feel a bit off, but the place did just open recently. As soon as you walk in you are immediately in line, not being able to really see all the drafts on the chalk board. They may need to find a different way to display what all they have. As for food, we tried the garlic knots and the loaded fries. The garlic knots were really good, but definitely super greasy. Perhaps stray away from these if you have a sensitive stomach, like mine. As for the fries, they had a good taste, but we were hoping to try the carne asada one and unfortunately they were out. Overall, not a bad first impression, but as they are open longer maybe they will get the kinks worked out. read more
