Had some buttons I needed sewn back on to my peacoat and some reinforced and they did a good job and very reasonable prices. The lady there was very sweet and efficient. Told me when it would be ready and the price and was pleased by her. When I picked up my coat the gentleman working that day was very helpful as he noticed something I missed and fixed it for me right then and there. I have a pretty thick chest/arms/shoulders and really slim waist. For my legs, my waist is tiny and my thighs are thick. Long story short, nothing off the rack fits me perfectly. So I decided to invest some money in getting my clothes tailored, and I came across this shop. I have found their services absolutely phenomenal. From how well the owner is receptive of my requests (I am looking for the tapered fit, especially around the ankles for pants), to how informative he is about the process, to how well he executes, everything is exceptional. Initially I brought in 4 pairs of pants, then I brought in 4 shirts, and now I'm about to bring in 2 other pants I recently purchased. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a tailor that will work with you to get the exact look that you're looking for. I brought four pairs of pants that I needed shortened and one long jacket that I have ripped and needed to have shortened to get rid of the ripped area. Everything came out wonderfully. This place is great. I have been there multiple times for little nips and tucks... but the thing that really warrants a 5-star rating is this tailor's alterations of my WEDDING dress! My dress is made of delicate lace detailing, and the bottom has beautiful scalloping - but it isn't a dress that required a bridal specialist (which would undoubtably cost a fortune) - as it doesn't have boning or and of those "gown" like features. My dress was supposed to be tea length, but because I am so short, it went to my ankles. In order to have him make it the proper length, without harming the integrity of the scalloping on the bottom (if he just cut it, it would have frayed), he had to: cut my dress at the waistline and lift it up several inches and re-sew it. I was naturally nervous because he was basically taking apart my dress (and my dress wasn't cheap)! However, when I went to pick it up it was PERFECT craftsmanship. He also sewed a pearl belt onto the waistline for me, and did other nips and tucks to make it fit better. Overall, a great experience, and a reasonable price. At 11am on the day before my brother's wedding, I took my husband's suit out of the closet and realized moths had eaten through the lapel. It was unwearable. I called Tailoring & Alternation Center and asked if there was anything they could do. I dropped it off at 1pm and by 6:30 the same day, they had come up with a very elegant solution using material from the hem of the pants. They helped us out of a bind with absolutely no notice, and hardly charged us for it. We are so grateful to them for their creativity finding a solution and very quick work. read more

This place is awesome. It's like being on the set of the Cosby's. But even better than that, the tailor did a damn good job tailoring my clothes. My skirt's zipper needed to be fixed. Not only did he fix that, he also fixed a rip in my skirt that I did not notice being there free of charge. The tailor also promised me my jacket would be finished a week later. To my eva luvin surprise, he completed it 5 days early!!! The jacket was perfectly done. It's nice to find a business where the work done is above and beyond what was requested. read more

I bought a nice suit from a Brooks Brothers outlet for my wedding, but it was a little too loose for my small frame, so I brought it here to be taken in. It was my first time there, but I was really happy with their service -- they did a great job taking in the jacket and slimming down the pants, and had everything ready in a week. When I picked it up, the pants were hemmed slightly higher than I wanted, but they were able to fix it immediately and it was all done 15 minutes later. Friendly service. I went here for alterations to a bridesmaid dress based on some of the reviews on here. I was so pleased at the workmanship. It was almost like the dress was never touched; that's how good the sewing was. They are a bit pricier than some but you definitely get what you pay for. I have mixed feelings about this place. The first few times I used them 2 women did the fitting and their work was excellent for reasonable prices. 5 stars! Then I went back 2 more times to have 2 dresses altered (bust decreased in 1 due to weight loss and shorten straps on dress#2). Those times a man (owner?) did the fitting and it didn't go well. For the 1st dress I had to show the man where to take up the darts - where he was pinning was not as good an option -- and he's supposed to be the expert -- although the darts were done well in the end. For the 2nd dress I had a bad feeling about where he was pinning the straps and sure enough the straps were taken up too much - I think they put the seams behind the pins instead of on top and that extra 1/8 inch makes a difference to me. And to top it off those 2 jobs seemed to cost more than the early jobs. So I prefer the women doing the fitting and the last time I went he seemed to be the only one there so I left. read more
