    Chicken Curry
    William S.

A friend took me here because she swears by it and I'm glad she did! Really solid Indian food, I kinda panicked and got the chicken curry but it was excellent. Got it at a 6 spice level and it was the perfect amount. The service was great, really friendly waiter. As for ambience the walls could use a paint job but you're not there for that. Really solid Indian spot would go back.

Still my fave Indian buffet in Pittsburgh! Weekday lunch buffet 11-3 is smaller than weekend buffet Fri-Sun. Lots of choices, some vegan. Yummy!

First time here, the food is ok, not many choices but taste good. However, they should update the time of buffet on Yelp and Google. The time for buffet is different than the open time of the restaurant. I have attached the time of buffet for you guys references. I came at 7:30 pm, and realized that the buffet is closed at 8:00 pm. I asked the front desk to confirm the closing time for buffet, but he did not give me a straight answer, but said "you still have time" instead. I thought they close the buffet at 10:00 pm like on Yelp or Google as normal business. The food was cold, and not being refilled- since they are about to close. I think the food will be better if they are heated. I still have a tip, but not a good experience thought. May try it again.

Seems like I only get here once a year and on a Sunday. Looks like they did some work inside. Decent selection of items as always. Something's seemed to have changed. I don't know how to explain it, but there was a different vibe to the place.

If you go up McKnight you've driven past this spot without realizing. Just like I have for years. This is your sign to stop and go in now. Especially during their lunch buffet which I will be returning for after eating here It's a nice sit down inside and our waiter was super friendly and funny. But ball buster. Practically everything on the menu is made glute free as well (I assume someone in the family has Celiacs) The lamb keema I got as an appetizer and it was so flavorful. No super greasy from being fried, very flakey and packed with filling The mango curry was spot on. Creamy, flavorful and right amount of spice. Garlic naan. It's naan. It's amazing and always should be. Only complaint was he forgot to bring it out but it was ready in minutes The desert I got is called Rasmalai and it's pretty much a soup dessert. There's two cheese dumplings in a milk syrup

Recently visited for the Thursday all-day buffet and had such a pleasant experience. We told the staff member at the front of house that we were there for the buffet, and he showed us to a table and immediately brought us water and pointed us to the buffet itself. The space has been freshly painted/modernized since I'd last visited, and it looks really nice inside! The buffet was well-stocked with varied dishes, both hot and cold, as well as chutney and other accompaniments. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, and the service was friendly! We ordered mango lassis during our meal and those were also extremely good. You have the option of not dining with the buffet on a Thursday, as we saw a few tables that were opting to order from the menu, but I personally love the ability to sample all sorts of great stews and curries rather than ordering just one. I believe it was $18 pp for the buffet, which feels like an excellent deal for an AYCE meal. The buffet is offered every day for lunch (to my knowledge), as well as all-day on Saturday and Sunday in addition to Thursday.

Take a ride to Flavortown.... Yes using G.F's reference is a bit cheesy, but the food at Taj Mahal is anything but. I stopped in for the lunch buffet and as soon as I walked in all my senses were tingling, and in the good way. There were 3 seperate food areas with a ton of delicious looking items. I did not know what 90% of the dishes were, but everything looked so good and the aroma was so intoxicating that I sampled every single thing they had on the line. By the time I was finished I felt like a local stepping off the train in Mumbai. All the food was absolutely delicious and each dish prepared so beautifully. The service was top notch, I never needed for anything and my server also made some excellent suggestions, as to my eating experience I would definitely go back for the buffet. Prices were good for what you got and who knew I loved goat curry, Aloha

The spice has a noticeable kick that clears your sinuses, although it could be a little intense for me. Something cooling on the side, like a cucumber salad, a yogurt based sauce, or even a yogurt drink, would have really balanced the heat for me personally. Even though the curry portions may look small at first, they are still quite satisfying when eaten with the garlic naan and rice, and the depth of flavor keeps you engaged throughout the meal. The samosas also had a unique and engaging taste. The dessert was also wonderful, a sweet, sugar soaked donut that felt comforting and indulgent, and was honestly hard not to love. Next time, I would love to try one of their spinach dishes. I felt healthy after coming here which makes me want to come back!!

The menu lists a large variety of Indian foods (e.g., appetizers, soups, salads, seafoods, rices, tandoori, vegetarian entrees, chicken, lamb, mutton, desserts, and non-alcoholic drinks). I noticed that many of the other customers were Indian, which might be an indicator of the authenticity of the foods. (My husband has traveled to India, and we frequently eat Indian foods, but we are not experts.) We ate a Veg Platter appetizer (samosa, aloo tikki, veg pakora, and paneer pakora), Butter Chicken (with a customized spiciness), Palak Paneer (spinach and cheese with a customized spiciness), Garlic Naan, Mango Masti (sort of like a mango smoothie with ice cream), and Hot Masala Chai. I rate everything as 4.5-5 stars. Our meal cost $56 *plus* tax, tip, and a 3% credit-card surcharge. I would definitely eat more of Swaagat's foods in the future.

Let me start by saying that the food was of the highest quality, and everything was delicious. The place was also very clean. That said, the place was completely empty. When we walked in there was nobody around, and because of the various TVs playing music and sports nobody heard us come in. We stood for several minutes and were about to leave when a guy popped out of the kitchen and looked surprised that we were there. He got us seated and watered quickly after this. Service throughout was pretty bad, with dude number 1 and our server more concerned with their phones and the cricket match. There was a bit of a language barrier too, but we worked through that. Anyway, we started with samosas, and they were pretty good. I then ordered the Chicken Vindaloo and my wife had some kind of shrimp curry thing. We also ordered naan, which didn't arrive until the middle of the meal. Again, everything was very tasty, but the service was a bit frustrating. I also want to point out that this is not a buffet, and that the menu is expert level. By that I mean that there are no descriptions or images of the dishes. It's just a list - chicken tiki, chicken vindaloo, etc. - and if you don't know a lot about Indian food you're going to be using Google a lot. Anyway, I will probably give these guys another try because the food was legit. Hopefully they will work out their service issues and maybe enhance their menu to better suit the market that they are in.
