Food was delicious and fresh! First time and would definitely go back. Definitely err on the side of caution with your spice level.

Let's get this out of the way, the food is amazing. Sometimes you think that if the food is good,…read moreeverything else can be tolerated, this place thrives to prove you wrong. The place wasn't crowded, but the weirdness started from the moment we sat down and for some reason getting as many menus as we were a party was a big deal. Somehow after some time they figured it out. The descriptions on the menus are copy paste or AI. Phrases like "this dish commonly contains potatoes" appears pretty often. Clearly not written to describe the specific dish being served. While ordering I had to change my order twice to get something they actually had. But again even my third pick tasted real good. Everything took about three times longer than it should have. In this malaises of service with only two other tables sat. Every order was trickled in, with me getting my appetizer after everyone else was done. The staff had no idea what they were brining out, and telling bowls of meat in a meat in a brown sauce apart was impossible. The food started to get cold by the time this was sorted out. The biggest blow. We weren't asked about rice, so we expected it would just come wish dishes. We just got one bowl for six people. Not a big deal if in the slow service anyone checked up on us. At the end I left hungry and no one wanted to order desert as this seemed like it would add at least one more hour to our ordeal. But the food was real good.

This chic, dimly lit, BYOB spot is perfect for a nice dinner with family or friends--or a date night. We even got to meet the owner, Rahul, who personally checked in on every table to make sure everyone was having a great experience. Such a welcoming touch. I dined here over the holidays and absolutely loved both the food and the overall experience. Some standout dishes for me were the goat dum biryani, chicken tikka masala, hakka noodles, and navratan korma. You honestly can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but these were definite favorites. Anytime I'm passing through this area, I'll be stopping by again. Seriously delicious Indian food.

Appetizers -Veg Manchurian Dry: Excellent and easily an early standout. It captures that authentic, street-style Indo-Chinese flavor profile straight out of India--crisp, well-seasoned vegetable dumplings tossed in a savory, garlic-ginger glaze with genuine wok char. - Gobi Chili: Good flavor with a balanced sweet-and-spicy chili coating. The florets had nice seasoning, making it an easy crowd-pleaser for the table. Mains & Breads - Paneer Bhurji: The undisputed MUST-GET of the night. Fluffy, richly spiced scrambled paneer cooked down with finely chopped onions, tomatoes, green chilies, and fragrant aromatics. The texture was spot-on, never dry, and loaded with homestyle depth. - Dal Tadka: Superb execution. A fragrant, earthy yellow lentil base finished with a sizzling tempering of cumin, garlic, and ghee that lifted the entire dish. Rich without being heavy. - Paneer Tikka Masala: A bit of an outlier--somewhat ordinary in overall presentation, but carried an intriguing, unique spice profile in the gravy that set it apart from standard versions elsewhere. - Butter Roti: Arrived warm, soft, and lightly brushed with butter, making the ideal vehicle for scooping up the bhurji and dal. A couple of minor pacing delays during the dinner rush kept it just shy of a 5, but the kitchen clearly knows what they're doing. Order the paneer bhurji and veg Manchurian dry, and you're guaranteed a fantastic meal.

Currently the decor isn't great but the friendly owner Raj said he would be updating the place over the next few months. Our waiter was new but he was very friendly and provided helpful recommendations. The menu is already large and Raj mentioned that they're looking to add southern Indian dishes to their current northern Indian focus. We had boneless wings, mutton, samosas, and another chicken appetizer. All of the starters were excellent, perfect mild to medium spice level. Our entrees included lamb, mutton biryani, and a chickpea dish. The biryani was a ton of food and the chickpea texture was awesome. We also had butter naan and I added a tasty mango lassi. Apparently they do a solid bar crowd on weekend nights. I would certainly return to try more dishes. Definitely a solid restaurant.

Blessed to have a local place that makes food everyone can enjoy.

We…read morewere looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion, but on a weeknight, and wanted to try someplace new for us. We decided to check out Nirvana in Allendale. On a weeknight, there were more guests for dine-in than I thought there would be on a Thursday night. I noticed that they have a consistent stream of takeout/doordash orders being picked up - so it's popular in the area. I can see why with the food - delicious. Here's what we ordered: - Samosas (Two thumbs up - nice spices with the perfect amount of kick) - Kale Pakora (I haven't seen this kale-only fritter before at other places that we've been; a new favorite. recommended app!) - Bagara Baingan (Eggplant in creamy tomato-based sauce; it's rich and flavorful, despite it being vegan. This will be a repeat order for me.) - Saag Panner (My partner's go-to intro dish when trying a new Indian spot; this SP was partner-approved) The dine-in experience had a cool, chill vibe and nice decor inside. With the lighting and music playing in the background, you kind of forget that you are in a strip mall. You're just immersed in this nice Indian dining experience with friendly staff and delicious food. On the weekends, there's a brunch buffet. That's a must-do on our list. Loved Nirvana and will be back to try other items on the menu for sure.

The Service here is not just poor, it is NON-EXISTENT! Expect to sit a good solid 25 minutes before anyone steps up and at that point they are in a big rush to take your full order. How about opening our wine bottles first? Or asking if we have any questions. This is a BYOB and when it is this painful to get a bottle opened, you resort to bringing your own corkscrew as I did last night - problem solved ( with the exception of not being able to get wine glasses for another 15 minutes or so.) It seems the only person who hustles here, is the guy that works the front end and appears to be the owner. He should not have to do double and triple duty because the wait staff is awful. The once great food has changed as well. This was hands down the best Vindaloo I ever had, but this time there was NO spice at all! And the portion was reduced as well, I counted 3 pieces of Lamb and one measley sliced in half potato. And, it was a Saturday night and 3/4 empty, which speaks volumes. And the crack wait staff couldn't even keep up with this low volume. I won't be back.
