I really enjoyed the crispy, buttery, hot (in temperature) chicken tikka burrito I had here for lunch. Utterly mouthwatering. It practically looked like it was melting when it came out. The freshly made lemon ginger masala soda was also great. Fresh, citrusy finish, rife with spices suspended in the liquid. The attendant was very attentive and there was one other table of two filled at lunchtime on a Saturday. Always a great experience with BG. Though we've only done takeout, the food still tastes great. Recently we ordered the Bollywood fries, supreme chicken burrito, and the chilli cheese sandwich. All dishes were flavorful and tasted fresh. The fries were addicting to eat! We also got the pizza, a classic, and that tasted great with some spice. Never any issue with service. All I can tell you is that the Chicken Taki Marsala ($16.99) was spicy, hot and flavorful. The portion size of rice it came with was cooked, not under or over cooked. It was plentiful as well. The garlic naan ($4.99) was warm and delicious. The Mango Lassi (4.99) came at room temperature. I like my drinks cold but on the upside you could taste the mango. Let's cut to the taste, the food here is amazing. We went here for my brothers birthday. We focused on getting street food as that's what I've heard they're known for and they were all great. We ordered a bunch of things and loved all of the items. Pizza (8/10): this pizza is essentially a pizza made on naan and it was great. Flavored very well and the Amul was a great add Falafel burrito (9.5): the sauce I'm this burrito is so addicting. It comes with falafel, the sauce, and rice. The falafel is not dry at all and it's not greasy. Completely underwhelmed by Bollywood Grill, there are far better Indian restaurants in NJ. Service was very weird, went in for an early dinner with my family and we were the only ones there. All the workers were sitting in the back and I had to go back there to get someone's attention. The Pav Bhaji was ridiculously spicy, to the point where it felt like someone just dumped extra spices into the dish. I can handle spice! But this was ridiculous. Also it would have been great to have had a few pav pieces. The Paneer Tikka Sandwich was again too spicy and made the dish not enjoyable. Pani Puri and Dahi Puri were fine. Ordered from Bollywood grill for take out the first time and the bombay grill sandwich was an instant hit with my friends. The next time we sat out in the car and had our meal due to the pandemic. The dahi puri and Chole bhatura were delicious. We also ordered Vada pav and paneer kati roll which I would say were mediocre flavor. We've been here a few times, the most recent of which was during the COVID period where indoor dining is still not permitted. We did sit in their small outdoor dining section in the parking lot, but I have to say that this was not organized well at all. First of all, they told us that we still had to call in our order (just like a takeout). I did this and mentioned several times that we were seated in the tables in the lot, so just bring out the food when its ready. Turns out that they did not do that.... they just left it at the door along with the other takeout orders. They also did not call names, so we were just sitting there waiting while our food was already prepared. That was quite annoying. And when we finally got the food, a waitress appeared out of nowhere and tried to serve us someone else's order. So in summary, I will not be returning for the outdoor dining. However, we do really like their chicken tikka bowl, so we will keep coming back for that. It is quite sweet, buttery, and they are generous with the chicken. Pav bhaji is also delicious... a bit on the spicy side. Was here in September, found it a bit cold inside, otherwise i was in thto go to a nearby spa and was drawn in by the pictures of the dahl puri so I tried it! I remember it being so flavorful, cool creaminess from the yogurt, the sweet mix of chutneys, and other ingredients that just popped in your mouth form the crunch of the puri! We went for a family dinner on Friday. I called ahead, i asked if they could seat us easily (I am 9 month pregnant and was taking 2 year toddler with so wanted to make sure we could sit easily and enjoy a meal). We reached there and it looked busy but nothing seemed to be out of order. We waited for half an hour to have someone come to us to take order and that too my husband had to go and check twice and the answer was it slipped their mind that we seated you (we def should have left then but.. we overheard that they are short staffed gave them benefits of doubt and stayed back). Then the lady took our order and we waited half an hour more, my husband went again to check and we were told that the order slipped, can we place the order again. At that point we decided to leave and not have dinner there. During this time we overheard that some of their staff didn't show up and we could see all of them struggling and barely able to do anything right. I empathize that things go wrong sometimes, but this was at 8:30pm and they 1) continued to take orders on phone in between serving customers badly. 2) continued to seat more people. As a business you failed to recognize what you can or not offer and gave so bad service that, I would never recommend you to anyone and avoid myself as well. We ordered the Chicken Biryani ($17), Paneer Tikka Masala ($16), and Garlic Naan ($4.50). The chicken was very soft, tender, and juicy, but the Paneer Tikka Masala was my favorite. You can taste a blend of different spices paired with the creaminess in the tikka masala. It was not overly spicy, simply the perfect balance of spice and creaminess. The portions were also decently sized. The garlic naan was a bit thinner than I was used to as I prefer a more bready texture. But the garlic was immensely fragrant, as if the naan was marinated in it. DELICIOUS. Overall, I highly high recommend coming here! the worst Bhel puri and Papdi chaat. The chutneys used are full of water and had no taste. When asked the lady at the counter, she casually responded that "that is how the chutney is". It's my favorite Indian restaurant for some authentic cuisine such as kati rolls, Bombay classic grill sandwiches, pav bhaji, vada pav, mango lassi that are some of the menu classics. To begin with this place really need to work on their customer service. Such a rude behavior, unprofessional attitude. In short will make you feel like they don't care for your business, It's you who need them. I been at this place 3-4 times thought something might change since they are new in business. Every time I been there I always walked out with issue. 1. First incident: Being Indian I do know what spice level is but there is difference between adding cooked vs raw masala. This can cause ulcer issue which I had to point out to the cook. 2. Second Incident: The owner doesn't care about the quality of their product as I purchased Kaju paneer masala curry and I literally had look for cashews, such a worst purchase. It was that bad quality. I had to drive back to complain this time and found they use low grade cashew quality (little tiny pieces). Such a pathetic presentation. 3. Third Incident: I ordered two gravies and Biriyani asked specifically to make it medium and after I got home learned that it was extra spicy. Again, quality issue that I hated that day. 4. Fourth Incident: I called to place an order. Lady on call asked me to stay on line and placed me on hold. In two minutes she dropped the call. When I called back and complained about this instead of apologizing for this behavior she denied placing me on hold and said she couldn't hear me. I hated this dishonesty from staff. Moving on from there I still try to place an order and try to give instructions for less spicy Pav-bhaji, but was told they don't customize the spice level. Again, poor customer service. Also it was wrapped up very well so there was no leaking sauce coming out. It is a very wide burrito so it is definitely enough food to fill one up. The insides were super hot and stayed hot for at least 15 min which is amazing. No need to rush. The chicken pieces were all the same size and seasoned well.
