Chicken Vindaloo dinner with Garlic Naan ($2 up charge)
Archer C.

Reporting live from the restaurant after eating. It's insane. If you are visiting or live here, you have to come if you like Indian food. Ridiculous value for $21.95 you get your main curry with a huge pile of rice plus like 4 side things with a bunch of naan. Service is fast and extremely nice, so many smiles. The buffet would be a ridiculous deal but we were only able to make it to dinner this time. Highly recommend the Chicken Vindaloo.

Easily one of the best restaurants in Bend. Super authentic and always hits the spot. I try to visit this place every time I'm in town. It's becoming an annual tradition.

Some of the nicest owners ever! We went for the lunch buffet and it was amazing. Fresh naan and curry. I'll definitely go back.

The worst food in Bend! The buffet food was cold, flavors were bland, selection horrible. Nothing good about this place.

The Experience: I visited Toasty while I was on vacation in Bend and loved having so many options at one spot as a vegan. What stood out: Service: The woman taking orders was attentive with answering our questions and making recommendations. Our two crunchwraps took around 25 minutes before our buzzer rang and we went to pick it up. Product/Food: I ordered the buffalo chik'n crunchwrap and my boyfriend ordered the nacho cheeze crunchwrap. As someone who despises eating lettuce, the way the cold and warm ingredients are intentionally layered throughout the crunchwrap is beyond delicious. I ate my crunchwrap within minutes of it being hitting the table. The tortilla was perfectly flaky, the homemade ranch was an amazing texture, and the chick'n was seasoned to perfection. Ambiance: Toasty is a small food trunk in the Podski food truck pod complex. It is incredibly busy and it can be difficult to find a seat. However, it is fun and lively with some great people watching opportunities once you are seated. Toasty will continue to be our favorite spot to eat at in Bend!

It's a walk in sit down spot - you place your order at the counter and they give you a number - decent size for busy food times - so usually plenty of seating. Over the phone ordering was a snap and the dude was super polite and helpful - not rushed. My wife got the traditional breakfast - she loved the local links and flaky biscuit - I think it was peach marmalade - not sure, but it was LEGIT. I got the pozole roja (I think that's the menu name) and - yo, it was the best pozole I've had. The ingredients were plenty, the chicken was tender and flavorful, they put the radishes, cilantro and cabbage on the side for you to add so it's not soggy. Sourdough was so good to dip - mouth is watering writing this. Service th morning we were headed out at 7amish was great also - wife got coffee cake (warmed in their brick oven) and I got two citrus muffins and a sourdough cinnamon roll for later - all were scrumptious and delightful. I would got a half dozen muffins if I knew they were that good before. People were kind and the service is quick. We ate there these two time on $52 dollars - both to-go orders. We will absolutely be back - every time we are near bend, I'll be stopping for pozole for sure! Well done, Jacksons Corner, well done!

The past week I have visited twice, since their outdoor remodel is completing, and they have new food trucks becoming part of the team. As for the brews, Crux always has a selection of great IPAs, they also have some innovative brews, such as Bochi Bochi, a rice lager, and (though not often) make truly spectacular ambers and browns. A suggestion maybe would be create a small section outside. that's a no kid table for sunshine and drinking too. ;) it looks like they're making good use of their space. I noticed many changes since the last visit. Looks like they have a party room you could rent, lots of fun well designed swag for purchase, ect. Between the exceptionally good food at Hook and Plow, a most pleasant hotel experience, and a memorable trip to the High Desert Museum; our trip to Bend turned out to be a pleasure instead of the miserableness I expected. We had the Steak Tartare, the Chef's Board, the Blackend Crabcake, the Pear and Burrata Salad, and the Bone-in Pork Chop. We each got the cheesecake for desert and split the other dishes. This was more than enough for the three of us and we left full, happy, and with three large to-go boxes. The flavors of the various dishes were amazing. While all the dishes were vvery good, the standouts to me were the steak Tartare, the Pear and Burrata Salad, and the Cheesecake.

We were greeted by the host and seated quickly. We started our meal with a delicious non-alcoholic drink and the Chef's Board: a charcuterie with an assortment of cured meats, rustic bread, and various spreads. That came out pretty quickly. Unfortunately, our main courses came out much, much later and lukewarm. Luckily, the food was good enough that it made up for the temperature. I had the NY strip steak. The steak and the Boursin mashed potatoes alone were very good. The pickled onions and chimichurri complemented the meat very well. The meal was supposed to include brussel sprouts but came with a grilled broccoli cauliflower assortment instead. My wife had the Scallop Risotto which was also a great recommendation from the server. In reality, The Hook & Plow deserved 3 1/2 stars but that's not an option on Yelp. It may have been an off night for the staff, so I will give them the benefit of doubt. We would be open to trying it again sometime in the future.
