    Copper River salmon special
    susan s.

I love this Anthony's location! We've been to the one south of Seattle which felt dated but this Anthony's in Bend is very nice inside, located right on the river, expansive with high ceiling and big windows. I enjoyed a most delicious fresh Copper River salmon dinner and my partner enjoyed the blackened rockfish. Coconut prawns were a refreshing starter instead of the usual chowder or salad that we often gravitate to. Service was attentive and pleasant. Highly recommend if you're in the area and thinking of fish or seafood.

Anthony's is gigantic inside, almost feels like it was built to welcome a king. When you walk through the doors, you know you're in for a treat. At least that's what they imply with all this larger than life architecture. I had a few drinks at the bar, testing various cocktails while we waited for a seat. Then my family and I were seated by a 16 year old somewhere dark and moody with riverside views. Kinda romantic if you were on a date. The Gen Alpha waiter didn't understand humor unfortunately and probably thought we were all unc. For some reason the menu seemed to lack variety and I felt forced to pick finger food instead of gluten and or giant meaty dishes that cost 50+ ...I can't ever finish those anyways. The Hawaiian nachos were not nachos, but some poke on little tostada things with some crema on top. Kinda underwhelming for 15 dollars. They were nice but more of a sharing dish, too much fishy flavor and lack of variety for one. I wonder why the menu is so boxed in and uninspired, like can we get a bit of creativity outside of appetizers? For a place with such a powerful presence, I expected more.

Great food, wonderful service. I was really disappointed leased to find a place in Bend that had non-fried fish, and Anthony's delivered. I had the halibut with potatoes, snap peas, and mashed potatoes. Everything was tasty, and I would definitely order the same again. My only issue is the portion of fish was a bit small for the price, but the place is popular, so I get it. I'll be back for sure.

The chowder was fantastic on a chilly and windy day. The Rockfish was seasoned perfectly! My colleague got the lightly crusted black cod and was very satisfied! The restaurant lays right next to the river with huge bay windows overlooking the river. Our server was very helpful and provided recommendations that did not disappoint!

Stopped in at Anthony's in Bends for lunch and had a fantastic experience. We sat inside, but still had a beautiful view of the river through the large windows--peaceful and perfect for a relaxing midday meal. Our waitress was wonderful--friendly, attentive, and made sure everything came out just right without hovering. She kept our water glasses full and checked on us often. We ordered a variety of seafood dishes and loved every bite: * Fish tacos - super fresh with bright, balanced flavors. We ordered the Mahi Mahi Tacos, Blackened Rockfish Tacos, and Wild Salmon Tacos. * Clam chowder - rich and creamy, packed with clams * Oysters - fresh and briny, served ice cold. They were so delicious and fresh, we had to refrain from over ordering * Calamari - tender and crispy, not greasy at all * Seafood dip - creamy, flavorful, and perfect for sharing with the warm delicious bread * Bread - warm, crusty, and perfect with butter, the chowder or dip. It was so delicious we had 2 helpings Every dish tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Portions for the tacos were a bit smaller but luckily we had all the prior appetizers that helped make us content. Overall, Anthony's was wonderful. Great food, a peaceful river view, and top-notch service. Can't wait to come back on our next visit to Bend! This is such a great location with not only the river views, but all the shopping in the area is a nice added bonus.

Absolutely great place, clean, quiet and yummy food! Vin was a great server, very knowledgeable, patient, great recommendations and helpful! We got the oyster shooters, wine, salmon tacos, rockfish tacos, rhubarb strawberry mai tai and clam chowder. All great food! Definitely will be coming back! Thank you Vin for a wonderful experience! Also, parking was easy for lunch time!

Just came here for a quick lunch. The clam chowder was good. I'm probably a little snobbish about it, but it was good. The ceaser was great, and so were the fries. We'll be back!

Nice restaurant in the shopping area. It was a sunny evening so we enjoyed the sunset during our late lunch. The service was great. Our appetizers were better than our entrees. My partner had a clam chowder and I had a Caesar salad. His clam chowder was a cute little size but creamy and delicious. My Caesar salad was perfect. The right amount of dressing and cheese. Their dressing was light and not very zesty (common issue I have with most Caesar salad dressings). Our entrees were more of a 3/5. My partner had mixed feelings about his clam linguini. Good taste but wished there were a little more clams. I liked the roasted shrimp and veggies, but did not like whatever was added to the basmati rice. I think the menu says almond but did not taste like it. If the rice was better, I think this dish could be tied together much better. I'd definitely come back for their appetizers and different entrees.

I loved this restaurant. My husband and I spent our anniversary at Anthony's and for a spur of the moment-food was edible. Besides the food being edible, the only downfall that we had was the fact that everything on the menu was over-priced for the portions that you received as a meal. We still left hungry and ended up going to a different restaurant down the road where the food and price was a lot better. They were slammed and the manager was a bit rude to those who didn't make reservations, but I recommend those to give it a try.

Nice view of Deschutes river! The high ceiling is really help us enjoying our big table lunch conversations. The seafood are fresh and tasty. We had three different types of fresh oysters. The salad is also fresh and deliciously goes with perfectly cooked salmon. Parking might be hard to find but if you like to walk then parking would not be an issue. Not many people on Saturday lunch. Service is fast.

Between the exceptionally good food at Hook and Plow, a most pleasant hotel experience, and a memorable trip to the High Desert Museum; our trip to Bend turned out to be a pleasure instead of the miserableness I expected. We were greeted by the host and seated quickly. We started our meal with a delicious non-alcoholic drink and the Chef's Board: a charcuterie with an assortment of cured meats, rustic bread, and various spreads. That came out pretty quickly. Unfortunately, our main courses came out much, much later and lukewarm. Luckily, the food was good enough that it made up for the temperature. I had the NY strip steak. The steak and the Boursin mashed potatoes alone were very good. The pickled onions and chimichurri complemented the meat very well. The meal was supposed to include brussel sprouts but came with a grilled broccoli cauliflower assortment instead. My wife had the Scallop Risotto which was also a great recommendation from the server. In reality, The Hook & Plow deserved 3 1/2 stars but that's not an option on Yelp. It may have been an off night for the staff, so I will give them the benefit of doubt. We would be open to trying it again sometime in the future.

Verdict: Zydeco is an outstanding restaurant in virtually every way. No negatives to report. The place is popular - arriving just before opening on a weekday, there was a line to get in. Reservations are definitely a good idea here. Our early arrival in line allowed us to choose a good table in the back, where it wouldn't be too hectic. That too was a good idea as the place gets loud with conversation when it fills up. Music wasn't loud, just the people. The menu isn't huge but there are quite a few, varied choices. Given the meal was a bit of a splurge for us, I essentially ignored the prices, which are not trivial by any means. Fine dining entails spending money. Zydeco has a ton of reviews and as the menu apparently doesn't change, I'll just say everything we ordered was great. Cocktails too. The Bramble Down is exquisite. Service was top tier as well. Timely, attentive, professional without being stiff. The capstone to our experience involved the bill. We actually had a gift card from 2017 - nine years ago. While it certainly didn't cover the whole bill, or even half, it was a nice way to defray costs. Unfortunately, when the server ran the gift card, it showed no balance. Not sure why but perhaps over the years, the card had been erased by stray EMF. Despite that and given we provided the card receipt, the restaurant honored the card for the full amount anyway. Well done. Highly recommended.
