WORST TAKE 5. DO NOT WASTE AWAY IN THEIR ALWAYS LONG LINES. WASTE OF TIME. Unprofessional and lazy. The employees must believe floating around lackadaisically with each other is far more important than getting the job done and the key to expediency at Take 5. I waited in line for over 45 minutes behind two other cars for me to allow them under my hood, unscrewing my filter, giving them my information and mileage, all for them to tell me they don't have my filter. Confused at them pretty much telling me too bad you waited but you need to leave, I asked them if they would help me find another close by Take 5 that did in fact have my filter. The younger black fella was clearly irritated I asked and told me I have a phone and can call myself. When I told him I don't know what to ask for he said even if he did call himself that I'd get an off-site customer service agent that wouldn't be able to confirm what was actually in-store. Truly, he was so unpleasant I held up his line pleading with to help me. After a good 10 minute back and forth, the younger Hispanic fella came over and offered to call an employee from the other location because the phone numbers aren't direct to the store. Before doing so, guess what he did? He actually did the other fellas job and searched high-and-low which resulted in finding the filter for my car! Can you believe it? Crazy what happens when you try. Well, while the helpful fella was looking for my filter the unhelpful fella decided it best to walk past my car a few times mumbling "f****g b***h* just loud enough for me to hear him calling me awful names because I asked him to be of assistance. Wildly enough, I deleted my first review because I've been there. Working a demanding job where you're expected to maintain a crystallized smile when you're drained in all ways possible. So I decided to try and reason with him before I pulled away. I asked him if he was still mad at me and if I could have a moment more of his time. He said "nah" and looked away. I won't be back to this location. I hope management reviews this and addresses the service I received. read more

This location is chronically understaffed. The crew this morning pulled me into the bay around 9, popped the hood and undid the caps. There was one crew working. It took almost an hour to get to my car. I asked if they could set expectations when customers arrived. At least offer a coupon for the wait. (No coupons for long waits....) I will seek other options. The dealership would have been faster and less expensive. read more

Super SuperSuper Great Job! On Austin's second day being the new store Mgr. I pull in for an oil change. During the service Austin informs me my oil filter housing has fused to the motor. He'll have to chip it out and replace it. He heads to auto zone gets the part and starts the work. He also informs me the will be no charge for the part, his labor or my oil change. Max was AMAZING great communication & great service. They was very knowledgeable and informed me with everything they was doing.

I took my car in for a state inspection and I was greeted in the parking lot by a friendly technician with a bottle of cool water. He answered all my questions and said it would just be a few minutes. In a few minutes another technician came out and went through some of the functions of my car to see if it worked; headlights, blinkers, brake lights, horn etc. I then pulled around to get the diagnostic test. It was a speedy seamless and super friendly experience for me. I can't believe the customer service - it's absolutely over the top these guys were so nice and courteous. The price was right too. I would definitely recommend them. I have never gotten an oil change there but will probably go next time. read more

Warning....long text!!! DO NOT use TAKE 5 Oil Change in Cedar Hill!!! Monday, my check engine light was on so and I knew it needed an oil change so I took it to over there. I've used them for years. After they serviced the car, I had about five lights come on the dash when I started it up. The attendant said the lights would go off once I drove it some. I pulled out onto Beltline Rd and the car jerked when I drove forward then would smooth out. I heard weird sounds but thought it was from the cars next to me. Soon I realized it was my car, I drove it straight to Kruger Repair Shop, bearly making it. They checked the oil and it was double what it should have been. Take 5 didn't drain the old oil out and put new oil on top of the old. I had it towed to 67 Transmission and they have been super, documenting all their findings. Take 5 drained my transmission fluid instead of the oil and more fluid has been ordered so they can continue their diagnosis. Tomorrow I should get the verdict on what transmission damages have occurred due to this situation. My 2015 Subaru Forester has It's been a great car and I have never had a problem with it. Side note- the day I found out they didn't drain the old oil and before having it towed I went back to Take 5. I did get a refund of the $120. I had just spent on the oil change. Going to the physical location was the only was I could actually talk to a real person about the situation. While waiting for my refund, I took a video of their office. It was filthy. Take 5 has only one phone number, it goes to their office in another state and it's an automated loop with few option that don't include talking to a real person. There is no phone at the Cedar Hill location! read more

Not sure on what happened. Went in for an oil change. The next morning, I noticed oil on the ground under my new 2020 Silverado. Took it back in and the attendant stated the oil filter was bad? They replaced it. Later that day jumped into the truck, now the check engine light is on. The code states (major issues) several things lost communication and now the transmission doesn't seem to want to shift properly? It was supposed to be a simple oil change. read more

I wand to say thanks to Mark. He let me know that I did not need an oil change because my oil was clean. It was my wife's car and she said the light was on. So without checking it for myself I just took it here. I appreciate the honesty me because they could have easily changed or worse of all say they changed it and to my $85. The service sucked. I got an oil change for $123.00. They did not change my air filter, they did not top off fluids, they didn't do anything except an oil change. That wasn't worth the price I was charged. When I asked for a thorough explanation as other customers were given 2 of the technicians literally walked to their cars to have a smoke, while manager had to go through the service process. It's a shame. They never used to be this sorry ass shop. Now if you arrive anytime after 4:30 they don't want to do a thing until 7PM. Don't waste your money find coupons and go to your dealership. My son got an oil/filter change here. I noticed oil leak in the drive. When I checked I found oil was leaking from filter as it wasn't tight, I was able to screw it back and forth with my hand. Advised him not to go back, could have cost a new engine. Now that I think about it, I'd better check the oil pan bolt. What good is it to go here if you have to check behind them! read more

Went to this location for an oil change about 10 days ago. I left their shop in the early AM and went straight to work which was only a few miles away from Take 5. . When I left work around 4:30 that afternoon I only made it about 2 blocks when my car died and wouldn't start again. I had it towed to my mechanic. I told him I had just had the oil changed at Take 5 earlier in the day. He put the car up on his lift and right away noticed that the oil plug was loose and oil had obviously been leaking out. Long story short, my motor was completely seized up. Of course I immediately complained to the manager of the Take 5 I took it to. He said his technicians were well-trained and didn't understand how that could possible happen. He then referred me to their customer service center at an out of state area code. Their customer service reps have assured me over and over that someone would get back to me to get this resolved, but that has not happened as of 10 days later. I'm looking at thousands of dollars to replace my engine now read more

Came in for an oil change on a Monday. Business is supposed to be open until 7:00pm and I got there at 6:20pm. As I pulled around the garage, the first I noticed was the tech was already cleaning and running a squeegee across the floor. Asked to get a oil change and he gave me some lame excuse about the system rebooting and that it took 30-40 minutes to do so. I found it was a coincidence that would be at closing time. But this isn't the first time I've been given an excuse as to why they couldn't do my oil change at this location. Won't be returning here anymore. read more
