Went in for a top-off and the tech put the wrong oil in my engine. The tech Vela, did not look at the sticker on the windshield and used the wrong oil weight. When I asked Mr Vela how they would fix the issue, he told me their district manager Josh Salcido said they needed to charge me for another oil change. I asked to double check that and they said there was nothing they could do and they would not take responsibility for the mistake. The tech, Mr Vela was rude and tried to make sound like it was my fault for not telling them what oil weight (that was clearly marked on the sticker). This place has the worst customer service I have experienced in a long time and would not recommend using them. I'll go to Jiffy-Lube or even Walmart from now on. I had my oil changed at the Wallisville Road store in Houston #0558 on July 3. The under the hood tech told me that my air filter was dirty and I said I had them at home. When replacing my filter on Friday I discovered that the tech hadn't bothered to replace the air filter cover. The tabs were not put in and all the latches were loose. The cover was just sitting there loose. Very shoddy. I'll think twice about returning or recommending Take 5. I'm posting here because their webpage's Contact Us form doesn't work. read more

I showed up on 6/23/23 and no customers. Needed an inspection only. After they drove my vehicle for less than 1 min. (Around the shop only); they concluded I needed windshield wipers. FYI it was almost 100 degrees and extremely bright and Sunny (2:30pm). Not sure how, Joseph, could tell they were bad if no water was on windshield or poured over windshield. Joseph stated my windshield wipers are so bad they would fail inspection. So of course with my hands tied & under pressure; cause they have the power to Fail you; I was Forced to buy new windshield wipers. That is a scam to get you to pay more money. $17 each windshield wiper. Don't go here. He stated my vehicle would fail if I don't have them changed. I've been coming here for 5 plus years and have never had this issue. By the way the wipers are no more than 6 months old. And I didn't have any issues with them. I will never take any of my vehicles to this shop any more. I don't recommend them either. I will say the young H/M that greeted me and charged me was very polite & professional. He was not the W/M, by the name of Joseph, that threatened to Fail my vehicle because of my wiper blades. Been coming here to get my oil changed for the past 3 years. I won't be coming anymore. The employees are rude. They need better training on customer service. I pulled up to the station at 1pm and one of the employees told me to pull up to the bay. I pulled up and he then asks me, "don't you think it's too low?" I told him that I have been coming here to get an oil change for a while. The employee then walks to the back to tell I guess the Lead Tech (who was eating lunch) what I said. The lead tech tells him to tell me that they are draining the oil right now and to come back in 30 minutes. Ok. 2 hours later I come back. I park my car and as I am walking up one of the techs servicing another vehicle tells me "what you want?" He saw that I had a what kind of greeting is that face and then said what can we help you with. I told him I just need an oil change. Again, I was told your car is too low. I told him that I have a sticker in my car that say "Kwik Kar Wallisville" he said pull up. At that point I was already frustrated and felt as if I would let them service my car they wouldn't have taken care of it. I left. I went to get my inspection today and this time I wasn't allowed to stay with my vehicle. I was told to wait in the area or outside. I told them I always wait in the vehicle and it's the only reason I come here. He replies "don't tell the state about that, they won't be happy". The worker said unless you want me sitting on your lap I can't do the inspection. Very weird and unprofessional. They take my truck and start and then come to me saying I need new wipers cause they streak. I said I don't want to buy from them and they say we're have the same prices as the auto stores. (Not True, they are at the higher price.) I say no I don't want them. The guy screams back at his worker to stop and we're not doing it. The young kid comes to me and explains the streak issue. Looked like they put a smudge of grease and turned the wipers on. Took me a little bit to clean off the oil substance from my wiper blades that are still good and not very old at all. Went for an oil change during my 1 hour lunch break. 2nd car in line. Staff person came to my car and immediately says, "Volkswagen is a V6. Usually, the filter is dealer only." This is boldface lie. Strike 2: I explain that I would like an oil change WITHOUT changing the filter and the Pearland Take 5 has changed my filter before. Strike 3: the man says, if we change your oil, we HAVE to change the filter. Which one is it? In what world, does an oil change force an optional purchase of a filter? The same one you tried to persuade me was dealership, only. LOL He didn't even lift my hood. I left knowing I'd never return. Was getting my oil changed here when they realized the Normandy location rounded off my filter back in November (Wallisville had been closed for maintenance the day I went) , told me to try to go back so that location so they could fix their own mistake. Went there, was treated horribly by the manager, immediately left because of his attitude and came back here. This manager, Mark, and Chase, were so nice about it and was full of apologies and understanding of my frustration. He immediately put my car on the lift to fix it for me and made my day much better due to his great customer service~ thank you! Had to wait over 30 minutes to even get pulled in and when I finally made it up the short caveman looking guy working 2/25 at 9-9:30 wanted to argue that he hasn't seen my vehicle in the system since a year ago. After having to show him my sticker, my mileage, my receipt from oil change 3 WEEKS AGO!!! He still wanted to argue the point. Ended up just leaving and having no work done. I paid almost 70 dollars for an oil change about a week and a half ago. Turns out the guys at Kwik Kar didn't change my oil filter. I got to San Antonio, had a check engine light, my mechanic took a look and promptly changed my oil. He asked me when was the last time I had it done? a week and a half ago. He handed me the oil filter and said that this clearly hasn't been changed within a week and half. It's pretty nasty. I immediately called here and...conveniently the phone number was set to fax. Whew! This place is the definition of horrible. It's unfortunate to even have these type of establishments in business, it would be better for them to serve as a pet poop park since the only thing they are good at delivering is piece of shit work! They over charged me for an oil change- said it cost $75 for a 15min job. Sad... then they were suppose to do a "full service" oil change which included vacuuming the car and putting air in it. None of which happened- what did happen is they did not screw on the caps to my tires completely so I woke up with flat tires the next day. Finally- the best part of it all was that they did not put back on the bottom top of my oil pan cover so I heard it dragging on the freeway and the screws are missing that held it together. I Bring my fleet of driving school cars here and all of sudden today they don't have my information stored, the assistant manager was rude when asking about whose car was in the lot , I asked the silver car he smartly the remarked the only Toyota in my shop! I took my 2015 Chevy 3500HD for an oil change and I always buy my own oil and filter from amazon and just take it so they can do the labor of changing it. Well, I always buy the Mobil 1 annual protection oil and filter which is good for up to 20,000 miles. Once they finished I asked the guy when I was checking out if he could please mark the tag for 15,000 miles instead of the 20,000 because I always like changing it a little before the 20k he looks at me with a stupid look on his face and says "I already wrote it for 8,000 miles" (with an attitude) I give him an attitude back and told him that my oil is for 20k and he tries to give me this lecture how it's not recommended and goes on and on. He thinks I have no clue about cars and I went off on him telling him that there's a reason why i bring my own oil because I know exactly what I'm putting in my truck and if I want the tag to say 15k then it's 15k it should be! He gives me an attitude and tells one of the guys to redo a new tag for me and even then it still had the wrong number ! I thought man just forget it and I'm never ever ever coming back to this ghetto ass place ! They wanted my tag to have less miles so ima can come back sooner and get another oil change ! I went here for a oil change and found my bottom cover loose, missing all my screws with ONE tie wire holding it together, really guys? This wasn't the first time I came to the location and I have to say they are always friendly. However I was really disappointed the last time I went because I had my tire pressure light come on and I asked them to check the pressure and they assured me that it came with my oil change. I paid for my oil change and get in my car and the light is still on. So I went back inside to double check that they did check the pressure. The person who checked me out assured me they checked it. I immediately drive to the gas station and check the pressure (on brand new tires btw) and two of them were 20 lbs under!! There's no way they checked. I was upset because I was lied to. They have lost my business because I cannot trust them to be honest. read more

Paid $118 for a full synthetic oil change and an inspection. At the end I asked if they checked the rear differential and filled the wiper fluid as it was empty and the guy who charged me assured me that they did and that there was nothing that caused them any concern. All of this is supposed to be part of the oil change I paid for. For some reason, I left without checking. I knew I should have checked after I noticed that they did not vacuum the interior of my vehicle, which is also part of the oil change. Sure enough, today I go to wipe my windshield, which is covered in muddy water, and absolutely no water came out of the wipers. You would think the employees would at least fulfill the duties that a customer would easily notice to be unfulfilled. I'm pretty sure that they didn't check my rear differential either. God forbid they cause serious damage to a vehicle and get sued out of a job. It only takes one call to the Texas consumer protection division of the office of the Attorney General to report this sort of fraud and deceptive trade practices. I've used them twice with my little '08 Benz SLK for oil & filter change only. They did a good job, prices are reasonable & they offer courteous service. It sure beats going to the dealership which is a long drive for me & much more expensive. They couldn't reset the service message & light on my car but it was no big deal. I was able to do that myself. I was provided the instructions which I thought was nice of them to offer but I already knew how to do it. It gets super busy there on Friday afternoons & Saturdays after 10 or 11am but the wait times for them to work on your vehicle aren't that bad if you're only getting an oil change. They offer other services too but my experience was only with oil & filter change. read more

Ok so, I really wanted to use the coupons I received in the mail. $15 off premium full service oil change or $10 off conventional oil change. Before I drove out there I wanted to call and ask for a price quote. Yesterday at 5pm I called. It rang a few times and was disconnected on their end. Hours of operation state mon-fri 8am-6pm. This was a Thursday that I called. Today, Friday, I call at 12:47pm. Someone answers and I tell him, "hey, so I want to get my oil changed and was wondering if I were to give you the make and model of my car would you be able to give me a quote or would I have to bring my car in first? Also, I have a coupon from y'all for either $15 off premium or $10 off conventional." The man on the phone replied, "uh.. lemme give you to my other co-worker..." And then nothing, their phone disconnected once again. Yeah, no coupon in the world would get me to go that place. I recommend whoever needs a great oil change to go to Carr's Tires & Automotive in Baytown. All of their staff is friendly and actually WANTS to work read more

I am not happy left car there 3 hours with 2 phone numbers to call if there were any problems or when it was done. After no word went back only to find out they couldn't the whole job. They never contacted us to let us know so we could take it somewhere it could be done at. They changed the oil & charged for a special oil filter I have never been charged for a special oil filter it's a 4 year old Chevy nothing special or custom about. Now the job is only half done & the whole day wasted. Me & my family will never take our vehicles to another Kwik Kar again. I had a low tire warning coming on in my car so I pulled into the station and asked if I could get some air. There were no other customers and all the techs (4) were just sitting there doing nothing. Two of the young men told to pull around back and they began to check my tires and fill up 3 of them but it did not make the light go off. The manager of the store came out and told me to go to Discount Tire. I asked him if they could just check the last tire and he said, " No, we charge for that service." I told him I was willing to pay and I already had a $10 bill in my hand to offer the guys for helping me, and that I just needed the last tire checked... he said, No, go to Discount Tire. I left and went to my local Texaco and told them the story and he was appalled. He said that's just lazy and rude. I couldn't agree more. He checked all my tires, put the correct amount of air, and checked for nails. I gave the $10 to my local Texaco guy that helps me anytime/all the time. I will always take my oil change business to the place with the best customer service and the person who has respect for anyone needing help. No wonder Kwik Kar had NO customers. I have 4 cars that will never go to this Kwik Kar again and I told everyone at work to avoid this place also. read more
