First of all, I love the fact that this is a privately owned business and not owned by a private equity group that overworks & underpays a skeleton crew that is forced to overcharge and/or upsell at every opportunity. I got a detailed breakdown of all needed repairs along with the cost, and I was offered various ways payments could be made. They gave me a time frame of how long my vehicle would be at the shop, which seemed a bit long at first but there was a lot of work to be done and parts needed to be ordered so that's fair. They finished early which was wonderful! It's been a few weeks since my vehicle was repaired, and I feel like an excellent job was done as not only are my former issues gone but there are no new sounds or squeaks as have happened previously with other shops. Everyone I spoke with was courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful. I definitely will use Safe Auto Repair for future repairs and will recommend them as they were recommended to me. read more

I had issues with my brake booster that was still under warranty. They had me in and out extremely fast with no fees or bills.

They do work not everyone does shop does. I had failed in the maintenance department. My truck was making a small noise I knew was very bad. Went to one other trustworthy mechanic and they said they couldn't help me. Told me what I needed to have done but they don't do that at their shop. I was stuck. Made a phone call to another shop in their lobby. The receptionist saw I was about to go in full panic mode. Then she phoned a friend. said send her on over. They did look at it and said they could help. They had her for a day. They a loaner they lent me. They sent me pictures. They are a very trustworthy company. I will be taking my truck to them for good. My new go to people. read more

Let me tell you about my experience at WDR this morning. After getting a coupon in the mail, for a $25 oil change discount. You Live and Learn, I really can't be mad at these guys , They are actually Geniuses. And I'll explain why. After getting a coupon from WDR, I visited them this morning. To my surprise, those Geniuses strategically placed the hottest, kindest and friendliest receptionist upfront. I explained that i was there for an oil changed and handed her my keys. I was asked to sign the customary paperwork. And beautiful Lady suggested I sit in the back where there was water, chips, coffee and other snacks. In addition, she pointed out that Netflix and other Movie channels. And she suggested a couple of other movies I should watch. Then about 10 minutes later, she said this, "not sure if you read before you signed". Then she proceeded to,what I considered speed reading or fast talking. It reminded me of the credits after the movies. She did make sure to Sat, they required a minimum of two hours and a $50 deposit. Confused, but being that I was the only customer in the shop. And that I know damn well, that an oil change does not take two hours, I decided to stay for the oil change. And at times talk to the beautiful receptionist. Effen Geniuses !!!! Not going to bore you, so I'll get to the point. I was right, the oil change, did not take 2 hours, it took three !!! And I was charged $180.09 for oil change. Thinking there just had to be an error, the receptionist corrected and said the price was correct. I was told that, the $180.09 "included the parts they ordered, the oil, the two filters, disposing fthe old oil, labor and the actual price for the oil change". Again confused, I asked did my vehicle require multiple o filters ? Initially I was told yes. But kindly, I explained, that no my vehicle did not require w filters. After reviewing my invoice, I identified that Synthetic o was not used, just regar 5W30, who knows what brand. So I'm damn sure I did not get a top of the like filter, nor brand of oil. They also said I needed my struts replaced and quoted me in writing $58. I let the receptionist know that, that was a great price for struts. And she acknowledged and said, i was quoted their price. But then noticed yhe correction on my bill which now quotes $122.00 I could have handled that in multiple ways. But decided to go ahead and pay the $180 minus my $25 coupon, which I had to remind them to add. But I was clear and told the young Lady, that their prices were more then anyone else's in the entire Baytown and Houston area. But my final price included the snacks, coffee, water, chat time with the receptionist, an air freshener I was given. And their entire Netflix. Hulu, Disney and Paramount cable bill for April. So no, I do not recommend this place. But gotta give it to them, these Geniuses have a unique upsell strategy. I strongly feel, it is my responsibility to inform others. They are disputing negative reviews and having them removed from google reviews. Not sure how/why they can do this when everything is factual and I provide proof with receipt uploaded. Anyways.. Charged me for 2 hrs of diagnostic. Talked to mechanic (that proved to be harder than expected) and all he did was take it on a short test drive(millage proves that) and hook code reader up to read same codes I had already seen. Then looks up fuel pressures and rates(un related to what I asked for (find out why in limp mode) and says fuel filter. Thats fine I have one in my truck already just need to make time to install. Could not make sense of their diagnostic even after researching, talking to their mechanic, and talking to other mechanics. They insist it is a 6 hour job when everything else including videos on the internet show it is a 1 hr job maybe. So I ended up wasting 270 for a diagnostic that instead of helping me, made me more confused. Other shops said they would fix for 300. They wanted 6 hours of labor 135 an hour or 810 before parts just to fix the part that other shops said they would fix for 300. I paid nearly that much just for this diagnostic that I have a hard time believing took 2 hrs of labor... They may say why did I not say something before I paid? Well guess what, I don't think it would have made a difference. Better to share on here where it might. Quote was 1502.23, after research I'll just do myself since I can't guarantee I'll find another good shop around as I don't live here. I'm 58 years old, so I've had plenty of vehicle work done over the past 40 years. These guys are far and a way the best shop I've ever dealt with. DW and Justin have an encyclopedic knowledge of diesels and are the most honest guys you'd ever hope to meet. I have a souped up 2006 F350 dually with the notorious 6.0 diesel. They put new head bolts and a bigger turbo in for me. I travel between L.A., Houston, and Nevada. When my Nevada shop mis-diagnosed and "fixed" a problem (for a hefty sum) just before I headed to Houston, the problem came back on my drive. DW and Justin fixed the real problem in 15 minutes for no charge. DW said, "Bad connector. We should have caught this in our general inspection when we worked on it, so no charge." How often do you find guys like this anymore? I would easily drive 150 miles to have these guys work on my diesel. If I could give them 6 stars, I would. read more

Took my truck to have a fuel pump put on which I had already removed. The new one I had purchased was in the seat a simple job. It took a week before they got it in a bay to look at it. It took 4 days after they finally got it there and me asking for updates to be told to come pick the truck up by the receptionist who was for a lack of better words rude as HELL. When the wrecker picked up my truck. Jason told me that the mechanic was tracing a leak. This was all I wanted to know. Basically it cost me 400.00 and almost 2 week without the truck to have them bolt on a fuel pump and my truck wasn't running after all that. read more

Justin was referred to me by Drivers Auto for a coolant leak on my 6.0 Powerstroke back in 2014. He worked above and beyond to get my vehicle back on the road for the Holidays. Fast forward to July 2016, I took my Excursion back to Justin and DW for a simple brake, glow plug and transmission job... well I decided to go ahead and let PPS build me the baddest Excursion around. Made a phone call and spoke with Justin about a problem I was having with my truck. He had me bring the truck in and once I arrived it was complete attention to my truck right off the bat, they were ultimately busy but he took a minute out of his time to quickly examine my truck, didn't say park it and we will get back with you. Found the problem quickly and made the fix. These guys are incredible and very reasonable on pricing. I live over an hour away but it is worth the drive for anything you need for your powerstroke.
