First off, make sure to pull up the coupon online before you get there. The price is definitely a little higher so the coupon helps. The value to make up for it is the quick service with no appointment. Often times for an oil change, I have to book an appointment, drop my car off, uber home, and uber back to pick it up. The savings on rides is with the extra dough right off the bat. I was in and out of there in 20 minutes and I'm with my day so that definitely has value. One thing I thought was strange was that the window sticker they give you is for 3 months and 3k miles but the oil I purchased was for 10k miles. They said the sticker is only for the program that allows you to come back to top off fluids. I get that but it seems like you're inadvertently getting people to see that and not recall their mileage/date for a new oil change abs come back early. Just seems deceptive in a way and that bothered me. I don't want to pay for 10k mile quality oil and then be duped into coming back at 3k because the sticker on the window says I'm due. read more

The Remount location AND the one on Rivers Ave are both amazing. I went to the Remount location to get an oil change as I live nearby. They unfortunately didn't have the oil needed to do my car, but went above and beyond. Rather than turn me away, they called the Rivers location shop, verified they had the oil and sent me over there. The Rivers guys got me in and out in under 20mins. I wanted to like this place, they're friendly and fast. But in January, I went for my routine oil change and my splash pan was not tightened. It ended up dragging on the highway and falling off on 76. I asked them in January to order a new one as it was their fault and I never heard from them again. Fast forward to now, I got a low oil pressure warning on my dash, come to find my drain plug was completely stripped and my oil was nearly completely empty. Went to another place and they said the drain plug was attempted to be fixed by take 5 with sealant, and they didn't bother to tell me that they stripped it. $450 fix, plus the cost of a new splash pad (which take 5 said they would replace for free, but they never ever called me or ordered it for me so I gave up on trying) read more

This was my first time going to one of the Take 5 locations in the Charleston area, and I won't be going back. I asked for the cheapest, run of the mill oil change they had with no extras and I walked out of there paying $68 WITH A $5 OFF COUPON! The service guys tried to up-sell me on every little thing... coolant flush ($72 - apparently mine was dirty?), air filter (mine was super clean), higher quality oil ($20 more than I paid). I 100% felt like they saw me as a young female that they could take advantage of. I used to go to a locally owned place in the same location where I paid $54 for an oil change (which I thought was overpriced, but was willing to pay a little more to support local). Guess I'll be doing some digging for another local spot, instead of getting robbed by this place again. read more

Servide was OK, they changed oil and filter, but the incessant upselling is annoying. My 10 year old car is only driven about 7K miles a year, but wanted to sell me Synthetic, then high-mileage, then I asked for 5 000 miles to be put on the window sticker, they said, no, need to change every 3000 miles. That hasn't been true for 20 years or more. Also wanted a lot of personal info to 'track me'. Had to argue just to get them to take only my phone #. When I buy groceries or clothes, they dont ask for full name, address, phone, age, car license # etc.... Identity theft too common these days. read more

I was heading out of town, and needed to get my oil changed before the long road trip home. I normally go to Valvoline, but not seeing any in the area I decided to stop at a Take 5 instead. After my experience at this Take 5 location, I don't think I will return to Valvoline - I am convinced I should convert and find a Take 5 close to my home to service my car go forward. When I pulled in, Derwin immediately came out to greet me and was instantly warm and welcoming. He was friendly, and let me know how long the wait would be (about 10 mins since all the bays were full). Once they had an open spot I pulled in, and they immediately got to work. Derwin was very knowledgeable, and explained the differences in oils to me and made recommendations, always letting me know the costs associated with different upgrades. I needed an air filter change, and they did not have one in-stock; he told me if I went and picked one up and came back, he would switch it out for my for free. Derwin also informed me of what I need to do to forward, as far as frequency of changes in relation to miles driven on my car goes. The rest of the staff working (although I had minimal interactions with them), were all polite and friendly as well. They were also fast & efficient - I believe I was there for maybe 20 minutes during the actual change. I could not recommend Take 5 enough (specifically this location!) read more

Went in for an oil change only to be told my coolant was no good. My radiator and coolant are less than four months old. They "washed" my windshield but left it horribly streaked. And I just discovered this morning that they barely put the skid plate under my oil plug back on. It was barely holding on with only one of the two screws it was supposed to have. For what I paid, I expect better. Beware this place. Go elsewhere. read more
