All the guys at this location were friendly and got the job done quick. They got me my military discount, which took off about $15. And they didn't push their products on me when I informed them I bought my windshield wipers separately and replace the air filter myself. I needed to get a last minute Oil Change and definitely didn't want to have to do my usual routine of dropping off car and waiting for hours at other businesses, so tried out Take 5 today and was glad I did ! I was the first car upon arrival and was quickly greeted by two employees who guided me into the stall, asked and informed me of different Oil options and we went from there ! I loved how kind they were and very informative to the point where I felt comfortable and not intimidated/pressured about anything. Also, while waiting in my car I was given a complimentary water which was awesome to me. I also decided to purchase a new air filter as I so desperately needed it, so overall I was there for about 20 minutes or so which was waaaay better than my normal turnaround time, so I will have to visit this location again ! Being in need of an oil change, I decided to revisit this establishment for an oil change. Since this building uses to be operated and owned by another company, I was interested in any changes that are present with Take 5. First, you get to stay in your vehicle while they perform their work, and they offer you an ice-cold water bottle to enjoy while you wait. The service went rather quickly, and they did not try to upsell anything that was not pertinent. Also, the background music was tasteful, and the staff engaged in conversation with each other and me. Horrible Went there for a oil change but ended up at garage to fix there screw up. They strip out my oil pan nut. They blame it on last place that did a oil change, over tightening it and a design flaw. Lol. If you use the proper socket you will NEVER strip out a nut! They wanted me to wait a half hour so one of them could go get a kit to drill out the nut. Are you serious, you can remove a nut without stripping it and you want to do more damage! Go to another place that hire people who can do a simple job as changing oil. This place will do more damage to your car if you let them. They need to drug test their employees! read more

The definition of disappointment- Hurry through town after work to get an oil change. They ask "what can I do for you?" I ask for an oil change and he says "I was hoping you wouldn't say that. Very negative experience. Had a coupon for a 19.99 oil change and was told by staff it was good before I pulled into a bay. After they removed the oil from my car they told me they did not have the "oil" for the 19.99 oil change and my oil change would be 32.00. I told them to put the old oil back in my car and I would go elsewhere. Then they "found" the oil for the 19.99 oil change. My 10 minute oil change took 30 minutes and they were not busy. They also managed to disconnect a spark plug wire in removing my air filter even though I did not ask them to check the air filter. None of the employees were wearing masks. First time here. Went to get my oil changed! Pulled up and it all seemed fine until they had me pull into the garage. As I was pulling in the man shouted "slow down" and "go back" all in a very rude tone and I was not going fast at all, but that is variable! Anyways the rudeness got worse and I felt uncomfortable to even ask any questions. They told me the total and all I said was perfect and started to reach for my wallet, and the man said "well are you gonna pay", guessing he didn't see that I was grabbing my wallet. While the other guy was like "we ain't doin this for free". It was all just unnecessary. Other instance was when he told me to "start your car", was just so rude. It was loud in the garage so I had a hard time hearing, but anyways he did have to repeat himself once, which I know is annoying however I didn't want to do anything that could cause an explosion because their dealing with my engine oil so I needed to hear clear instructions and not just assume he told me to turn my car on. Overall the oil change took about an hour including the wait time but I'm not upset about that. I'm just upset with the customer service and the way they treated not just me but the car in front of me, rolling their eyes at them because THEY were not clear on where they wanted the car in front of me to pull in. It was all just awful. I Don't plan on giving anymore money to this place solely because of how rude they were. I hope it was just a bad day for them and they aren't normally like this! Rang at 4:00pm to make sure it was ok to come in for a state vehicle inspection. Was told yes, come on in there are three inspectors available. left home and drove to their Pflugerville location where I was told that the inspector had gone home at 3:00pm. When I mentioned the phone call, I was told that the call was picked up by their call center who don't know when inspectors available. Totally wasted my time for no result. Will NOT be going back. I went to Take 5 for the first time due to having my kids with me and the fact you get to remain in your car while they change the oil. This is the first time I have ever been present to physically see service change my oil. I have to admit, I wasn't impressed at all (other then I didn't have to get out of my car). They report that they check your tire pressure, clean your windshield and top off your other fluids during your oil change. None of those things ever occurred (I was in my car and watched them). I also didn't witness a new oil filter being put in but that could have just been because of being in the car at the time and it not visible. The only fluid I saw put in to my car was the oil itself and to be honest, it looked like used oil rather than the high performance I paid for. It was extremely dark in color. Fast forward 2 months and I went to top off my washer fluid and noticed my coolant is almost 100% empty (way below the min line). I usually have my oil changes done at the dealership and now I know why. My car could have completely overheated and seized up. All unfortunate actions by the service people at Take 5. read more

Why advertise when you are not doing inspections and employee has no idea when someone will be available? 5 employees sitting under a tree and not a single person can do an inspection. We recently moved to tX from CA and went to jiffy lube multiple times and after all of them were horrible experiences and long waits I asked a mommy group I'm in for recs and they said Take 5 is super quick, they give you free water and snacks for the kids in the car!! Great service. Like the fact that you get to stay in car while they do oil change. They check air filter and washer fluid levels. They will show you how clean or dirty the filter is. Upon arriving, I first asked for prices. The guy quoted me about $50 which is a good $20 higher than I normally pay, but I figured I would stick around rather that drive around. They had a young lady in training who was the sweetest thing, but obviously had questions and was asking the boss before spewing misinformation which I totally get but the boss was very snippy with her which I felt was rude and uncalled for(she said it was only her third day). Well, after they had already drained the oil, suddenly my vehicle needed a more advanced oil(which I have never needed at my other changes elsewhere) and I was obligated to pay $72 for a basic oil change. Had I known this upfront, I would have turned around and left. Prices need to be displayed and explained up front, period. Don't surprise people when it is too late to do anything. Worst place in Pflugerville I went there for an inspection in my work van and they tell me that the emergency brakes didn't work I took my van to my mechanic to adjust the brakes when I come back I tell them that the emergency brakes were fix,they have 2 vehicles ahead of me and tell me to park behind those 2 vehicles,when I park the van the guy tell me that my brakes squid and that just because they squid my van failed I left to a different service place and 20 minutes I had my inspection taken care off,this place sucks don't waist your time and money. read more

DO NOT take your car here. I went in for a simple oil change on a car with 71,000 miles on it and they under-filled the oil. Because it has hydraulically controlled timing chain guides, it did $6,000 worth of damage. When the manager came to me when the car broke down just up the road, he checked the oil and it was low. Then he added a quart and the dealership says it is STILL low. I had the dealership and a second opinion from a reputable shop tell me their is still not enough oil in the car. I assembled all the documents and forwarded to their store manager. He says he forwarded to their corporate who says the proper amount of oil was added. They are trying as hard as they can to avoid taking responsibility. I took a great running car in and 60 seconds after I left their shop, the car is broken down. Seems like it might be their fault. This same shop also failed to tighten the oil filter properly on my Aunt's car a few weeks ago. Do not take your car there! read more

I had come here when it was Pecan Lube Center, so i figured the new appearance was just a dress up. For starters the "old" way of driving in off of Barbergale St. is gone; you have to drive in off of Pecan. Most of the same friendly folks are here and they remembered me and my truck (outstanding!) Missing was the outside patio and the rear entrance. To get to the waiting area you have to go around the building or be escorted in through the garage. There is a definite lack of personality i.e. personal interaction. Gone are the magazine's, the T.V. the coffee, and the "boss" sitting out there chatting it up. Maybe it is part of the "5 minute" gimmick, but i was in here more than 5 minutes as most vehicle inspections take 10 minutes or more. My review of the new place could be because I'm that guy that avoids the self checkout because I like human interaction. Buy the bathroom is right here in the waiting area (see picture of door without glass). The only other human interaction is hearing the, splashing water, grunts, moans, and bowel relief of the other customers....Place is real clean, like hospital clean, so that's a plus. I dont recognize the brand of motoroil filters used (Purepro or Service Champ) which is why I stopped using my old regular mechanic. 4 stars for interaction by the mechanics/technicians who are awesome. The new operator needs that last star by making the place "friendly." read more

I first I thought it would be a little weird to stay in the car, but it was interesting to see everything they did and have them be able to ask me for decisions on the spot, rather than throw everything at me in some stale waiting room when I'm not actually sure if that dirty air filter came from my car or not.
