Seafood Pad Se Ew and Thai ice tea
    E W.

A no frills and simple Thai spot. I ordered the Seafood Pad Se Ew. The seafood that was included was shrimp and some calamari strips. The sauce was plentiful and tasty. It was only 13.00. Thai ice tea 3.00. They caught on to most of Japans business model of paying first then you can seat yourself. Smart and necessary for the world we live in. Need a quick fix for some Thai food, pop on in.

Went here for lunch and ordered vegetable drunken noodles. The place is run by a family of mom dad and son. Mom and son does the cooking dad is at register and serves food to table. Service is quick and very reasonable price for the location and food. The food is made to order and ample quantity and fresh. Have been here a dozen times over the last 6 months. Bottom line will visit this place again.

Went back today and love the food ! Like I said, I been going here since I was single and still eat here for over 30 years and still love the home cooking and made fresh daily as you order. :) Pandemic changed the table spice condiments that I miss a lot but the food is still fresh and yummy !

I've been coming here since I was a child no lie. After all these years here my review. I am very thankful they are still here. I always order the same thing and they never disappoint. I'll call and they know my order. Cashew Chicken, med spicy, no onion add ginger. The pic is old when I used to get it spicy spicy and with onion. Jungle vegetable curry

The price to portion is pretty good here but the flavor is average. Order at the front and pay with cash only. They have a atm on site. I had the jungle vegetable curry @ $7.30 and it was way too watery. They don't use coconut milk in some of the curries and it makes a big difference. Everything about it didn't taste good. But it was a huge portion with low price. I'll return to try something else next time. But for now it's pretty mediocre but colleagues liked their dishes.

a tray of food with a spoon in it

I am regretfully giving this review based on the presentation and texture. I've ordered the same thing at several Thai spots (Panang Curry with white rice), but this was the first time that they combined the white rice and curry together. I opened the container when I got home, and was thoroughly displeased. I am used to having a bowl or container of curry, and a serving of rice on the side to control the amount that I want to mix together. I am now forced to eat it in one sitting or elsewhere the rice will get extremely soggy.

I went there today. Worst vegetable curry I've ever had. Bland and unappetizing. I had to throw it away. Will not be coming back.

We all split all the specialty cocktails and I got the Khao Pad Kang Kiew (rice with eggplant and chicken topped with a fried egg). Dishes are $20-23 ish each. We were seated at the 6 person table in the back of the restaurant near the bathroom. My favorite drinks were their take on a hard thai iced tea, the lavender mojito, a take on an espresso martini. There was also this spicy drink that had thai chilis in it that is VERY spicy lol. Pros: - the rice dish was DELICIOUS and also huge haha. Came with cucumbers to cut the peppery flavor if needed. - All the cocktails were pretty different and it was fun to try all of them. They were all beautiful to look at and tasty (lots of coconut and Thai inspiration). - Service was pretty good - Has "typical" thai dishes like pad thai and pad see ew, and also more rare ones that are hard to find - Close to many bars and other establishments, so perfect if you want to eat here as a first, second, or third location of your outing haha Cons: - The air flow in the back wasn't amazing so I did feel like it got stuffy/hot - Parking can be tough in this area so I recommend BARTing Another reason to love Oakland!

We had to re-place our orders because they were never sent to the kitchen and lost, we had to flag down servers otherwise we were sitting there confused for 20+ minutes as they hustled and bustled around us, it was just bizarre. And it was a bit embarrassing as I'd lauded this place to my guest and we proceeded to get snubbed by every server during dinner time. Alas, the pad kemao was still delicious but I don't know if I'd suffer that kind of service again for a meal. And no, nothing was comped or discounted. Ambiance-wise, the restaurant is cute and near a busy area of downtown Oakland so it's easy to get to by BART or by car. I might give them another chance if I'm ever in the area already, but I won't be going out of my way to visit again.

They were able to accommodate us, walk-in, but it was poppin'! Everyone loved their food. Standouts were papaya salad, egg rolls, nam khao, drunken noodles. Wish I could eat more lol to try more but portions were great too. Gotta come back and try more of the menu! I have nothing bad to say besides there's only one bathroom stall per gender. Highly recommend if you're in the area craving Lao/Thai food.

Sticky rice 10/10 - small portion was big enough for 2, perfect stickiness & cooked perfectly. Overall, this might be my go to Thai restaurant. Pros the portions are great & worth the price point, the food is delicious to the point I'm gonna have to try everything on the menu & I'm the type that usually sticks to the same dish when I like it. Servers are attentive for how busy they are, great alcohol options. Cons - very loud, you cannot hear each other at your own table, food comes out dish by dish & can take a span of almost 30 mins for all food to come out. Got my sticky rice like 10 mins after my curry. It's hot in there & very busy so it's def hard to get the server's attn. Sitting by the door also sucks bc they're so busy so the door is always opening & there's not much space for folks to wait so they're kinda standing by you waiting lol. Not a romantic spot per se but can be if you can block out all the noise and ppl
