I just ordered six tacos from El taco factory - four of them were veggie and two of them were chicken. I always get excited to go to El taco factory when I visit my sister and Antioch because I love their taco shells and filling. No more. They burned all six of our taco shells and still gave them to us as if the tacos were perfectly fine. We didn't realize it until we got them home, at which point I called El Taco Factory and ask them why they would send us home with burned tacos. He said that if I brought them back, he could give me new tacos. Seriously? I'm supposed to drive 15 minutes to bring the tacos back and then 15 minutes back home? His other offer was to give me a discount on a future order with them... So let me get this straight - I'm supposed to eat bad tacos or not eat anything at all, in spite of my $50 spend with them, and their only offer is a discount on me spending even more money with them in the future? No way. Terrible customer service. Terrible tacos. I will no longer be clamoring to get back to El Taco Factory when I come into town, and my sister and brother-in-law have sworn them off as well! And to add insult to injury, the restaurant smells horribly, and their bathrooms are dirty. I have ignored those things in the past, but this terrible service sent me over the edge. read more

I originally asked for no salsa, but after being told that the cilantro and onion were already included in the "salsa," I changed my mind. The staff said they'd let the cook know, but surprise my order didn't come with it. I also asked for more green salsa, and the cashier asked if we were going to eat the red one. I said no, and instead of just giving us the green salsa, she asked to take the red ones back and literally traded them--2 red for 2 green. She even joked, "Well, you're going to throw it away anyway," which just felt off and kind of rude. The food was just mid nothing special. We spent around $40 for 2 tacos, 1 quesadilla, and a Coke. Yelp ratings are accurate for this restaurant. I like to try burritos from different restaurants. One thing we have plenty of is Mexican food. I ordered a carnitas super burrito ( what they call the Factory Burrito) with no rice to go. When I got home, I discovered that my burrito had rice and was not made with carnitas. It was made with grizzly/fatty steak. As I was hungry, I ate it and my dog got lots of steak grizzle/fat. Solid taco spot I always get the factory tacos when I order from here. My favorite taco meat is asada but they have a few options to choose from. I also enjoy the red/orange salsa that they give you on the side it's really tasty and spicy but not too hot great flavor! Supposed to come with a variety of salsas and tortillas. Salsa was only a green and an orange (I hate both!) I specified flour tortillas and they up charged me for it and only gave me one tortilla. Clearly not enough for a pound of carnitas. Very salty (almost inedible). I will never eat here again. Go somewhere else. read more

The cashier seemed either new or uninterested--couldn't answer basic questions about the menu and gave me a wait time that was way off (like, three times longer than it actually took). Then, there was a whole back-and-forth with the salsa: first, he offered it, then he backtracked, saying it wasn't included. I tried to buy some, but the whole interaction was so slow and awkward (literally took several seconds for him to comprehend what I was asking), I just said "forget it." To top it off, he didn't put the lids on my takeout containers properly, which I had noticed as he was packing it so I kindly asked that he make sure to secure the lids. I had to fix them myself to avoid a mess. Food was fine, but service was poor and careless. I'd love to see this place tighten things up a bit. Also, they nickle and dime with salsas. Which is annoying. I spent $38 bucks on rice, beans, and barbacoa. I guess that wasn't enough for 3 ramicans (1oz ea) of salsa. It came with fajita style peppers (which I love). It was so good! The real treat was their green salsa!!! It's spicy enough to hit the spot but it's so flavorful! Super bright and fresh tasting! My husband ordered tacos last night for Cinco de Mayo. I usually love shrimp tacos but I wasn't even able to finish one. They put way too much Monterey Jack melted cheese.. it kind of takes away the entire flavor. And I do not like bell peppers. Basically their shrimp tacos are not good. My husband told me to try his taco pastor, it was marinated meet, again way too much cheese and it was. and even with the marinade the meat was so dry. I do like their corn tortillas but it was hard to even eat their tortillas with all the melted cheese.... Needless to say we had a lot left over... Last time I was here I didn't like it and gave two stars. It has been a long time since I came back. My son has been going to this place past couple of weeks and likes their burritos. So I gave it another try again. This time burrito was decent. We all had a steak Factory burrito. Filled with plenty of filling of all kinds including rice, beans, steak, guacamole and sour cream as I can see or taste. I'm sure there was more like tomatoes. This is only my second time coming here. I remember the first time being REALLY good and my friend recommended the tacos and I always wanted to come back again. This time I was passing by and gave it a second try and this time I got the Super Taco - lengua and it was just ok. Maybe too bland and not enough spices. I dumped a bunch of salsa in it to kick it up. I also misread the menu and thought it came with TWO tacos but what it said was came with two taco shells. But it was a good size just having the one super taco plus the chips and salsa. They do make a good crunchy taco because it's not greasy or too crunchy that it jacks up the inside of my mouth and not too soggy or floppy either. Maybe I'll try a couple different meats to compare. I'll have to try it one more time and give them a chance to bump it up to at least a 4 star review upgrade. It doesn't have a ton of seating for dining in and most people seemed to get their food to go but there was a lot of traffic at lunchtime which is a good sign. El Taco Factory is one of the lunch spots on our usual rotation. I never stray from the carne asada factory quesadilla. It comes with all the goodies that a quesadilla should have - tons of meat, melted cheese, sour cream, guac, and salsa...all nestled between the crispiest flour tortilla. It's also massive. One order will last me two meals. The chips are no bueno, so I usually don't waste calories on these unless I'm starving. We've gotten el taco factory for catered lunch (crispy tacos, burritos) a few times and they were kinda soggy. The key is ordering and eating in house while it's hot off the grill for maximum crisp, maximum flavor! read more
