How is a taco restaurant not prepared for taco tuesday that also lands on cinco de mayo?! The service was terrible! We waited for 15-20 mins before we even had a server visit our table. Eventually put in our order. After being there 1:30-2hrs 3 out of 4 in our group STILL DID NOT have their food. We ended up leaving around 9pm with most of our party not getting their dinner order. And this was all while in a supposedly post covid "25%" CAPACITY. Really? The manager brought down the price a little by lying and giving us a military discount (no one in our group was/is in the military). Disappointed in the management and the service. This place has so much potential and we hope they figure it out. It is never good when you visit a restaurant and someone in your party says, "this is not the place to come to if you are hungry". Party of four showed up at 6 pm. We were one of two tables and waited a good 30 minutes for tacos. That's right, tacos! Tacos do not take long to cook. The food came out and it was very uninspiring and bland. If the owner/management reads this, please make changes and fast so your can be a JB favorite. The boyfriend and I stopped by after visiting a little local place in Fort Pierce. We wanted to see if the old restaurant was rebuilt after the fire. I asked one of the servers he was very nice and said no it was new owners. Was a rainy day and very hot we sat under the front we're used to have a bar under a canopy we only had one beer each but we had very good service and for our experience I would rate it a 5 because the way that we had even though he knew we only wanted one drink did check on us to make sure we didn't want anything else. So tonight was my first time ever going to Tako tiki. I will start by saying the tacos were in good taste. My waitress could not figure out what type of beer I actually ordered. Went there for lunch with a few coworkers. The atmosphere is great, staff was friendly and quick to answer any questions about the menu. I tried the ceviche for starters, it was tasty but could have had bigger size shrimp. It would have been great to see the shrimp taco shrimp I. The ceviche. That's just my preference because that's how my Mom used to make it. It was nice to share with the people at the table though. I then ordered the conch taco and shrimp taco. Very fresh and tasty. Now they charge per taco and the sizes are like street tacos. The price for lunch was around $21 with drink, a bit steep for lunch but, the atmosphere and camaraderie made up for it. Just another Martin county tiki/ beach themed establishment... just like the others. Not saying anything bad with the place. Just saying it's nothing that we who live here haven't seen played over and over again. I didn't eat there but I have heard the food is very good... New local spot we have been excited to check out for a while. Great location near downtown, with plenty of room for parking on the street side or in the lot. Things have been cleaned up since it was Kona Cafe and it looks much better. The outdoor self-seating is very casual. Tyler was our sever and he was kind and very accommodating. They are environmentally aware - paper straws, palm frond bowls (this is spelled incorrectly on the menu) and biodegradable silverware are used. The veggie tako was delicious, the chicken tako bowl had a great presentation but was mediocre. They have several options on the drink menu. I wasn't impressed with the classic margarita, but did love the watermelon jalapeño margarita. There's a separate building behind the main part with a bar and a little spot for ring toss. Apparently there's live music and we're hoping to check that out next time we're back. A new gem in Jensen worth checking out. read more

I really wanted to like this place, but I was just not a fan of the food. If you were here when this was the previous restaurant, the decor is very similar. I do enjoy the look of the restaurant, however, I just did not really enjoy the tacos. With a couple minor exceptions, everything on the menu is a taco so choices are limited four people in your party who may not be interested in a taco. Wanted to like this local taco dive but couldn't get over the tasteless tacos, dirty locale, and quite rude bartenders. We saw rats and raccoons which was highly unnerving, needless to say we will never return. Seemed like nobody cared and that translated to the food. Tako Tiki is bound to get someone very ILL with their lack of sanitary practices. Disgusting bathrooms were the final straw, it was like they hadn't seen an employee attend to them since they opened. Our food took a while to arrive and my nachos tasted like it had been left sitting. I'm genuinely shocked by all the positive reviews. Here's a real review: Starve before you think about coming here. This restaurant really is set up cute but maybe too cute that they neglect to add flavor to the food. I was completely disappointed with my experience there. The customer service was TERRIBLE. I walked in at a time that no one else was at the restaurant, but it still took a long time to be seated, and even after being seated the server didn't introduce herself or even greet us with a smile. She didn't offer us a refill at any point after finishing our drinks early on, and the ENTIRE TIME we were there we were the only ones there. As for the food...garbage. Go to Taco Bell before going here. At least there you know that you would be getting food that has flavor and for half the price. Who charges $5 for a single taco...how does that make sense? I got a quesadilla and it cost $11. For $11 I can go to my local AUTHENTIC Mexican food truck and get 2 quality quesadillas. I thought that my food was going to get better but it never did which was heart breaking. The menu is very misleading. I was lead to believe that my food was going to come with flavor and that I was only going to pay $8 which is still crazy for a quesadilla. The food tasted like it was seasoned with oxygen. This time I ordered a fried conch taco that came out WAYY to soggy like somebody just dipped it in the oil and threw it on my taco. My wife got the nachos that came out soggy ass well as if they have been sitting on a counter. (They came out cold). I also ordered a steak burrito that I believe to be the cause of this nasty stomach virus that I'm going thru now. The rice was somehow mushy like mashed potatoes but still had hard uncooked grains at the same time. As soon as I bit into it bean sauce just dripped everywhere and to make matters worse the burrito was already wet and soggy when it came out with holes in it. As if that wasn't enough there were these HUGE RATS and as we were getting ready to leave my wife was using the bathroom while I took a glance into the kitchen and saw that the staff preparing the food WERE NOT wearing any GLOVES what do ever. My first visit to Tako Tiki was amazing. I love the atmosphere, prices were good and the food was fantastic. 2nd visit recently, not so much. I don't know what happened really. Our tacos were kinda bland and my daughter's rice bowl was unremarkable and had undercooked rice to the point of almost chipping a tooth. We told the young lady that was walking around asking how everything was and gave us 1/2 off the bowl. Which was fine but she was unable to finish eating it. Our server (I don't recall his name) was NOT on his game. Brought our drinks but had to hail him down to take our order. Then I had to walk to the bar myself to pick up the beer that we ordered as it just sat there in the heat. I could understand if the place was busy - but I think we were his 2nd table. It just agitated me. The tequila infused cake is delicious and it's a super cute place. I will prob give it another chance to see if by chance it was just a kooky evening.
