Unable to get to the donor bed During the screening process employee Siad my blood pressure was too high (210/159). I was unable to donate. I told her that its wrong and there is no way that it's that high. She let me leave. If one bp is that high then it needs to be immediately retaken and the paramedics called as that's stroke territory. I did take my own bp and it was in the normal range 140/84. 6.5 hours invested/wasted and could not donate due to Grifols silly rule their competitors don't require. Drove 50 miles each way to get to Grifols based on their new donor promotion $100 x4 first donations. I've donated for well over a year now at CSL. I also donate my Type O- Negative blood when the O Neg crowd needs me (about 28 years now during AD military service)...my blood is good, and it's rare...at only 6% of the population having it. I had ulcerative colitis a while ago that is well managed and controlled, and use a medication that's doesn't defer donors. After the round trip of 100 miles, waiting nearly 4.5 hours to complete questionnaires and finally answer questions, and be seen for a physical, they ask say because their products go to Europe, they cannot accept my plasma. SO basically if I just lied like several of the donors do, that look destitute, some homeless, many cigarette smokers, boozers, weed heads, and probably have super healthy diets (sarcasm)...I could've donated and left with a net positive of about $75-80 after gassing up. But no, I was honest, and as a CSL donor, fell victim to a slow intake, slow interview/questioning phase, and finally, a dumb rule that will harm NO ONE. Bear in mind, donations like headed to a European market where several locations/populations cannot donate due to Mad Cow and other historical medical events...but they'll take dirty Americans' plasma so long as they didn't have some irritable bowel syndrome, or other gastric condition that is at the TAIL END of the digestive process where blood deposits toxins and other things the body eliminates. The common sense on this is as sour as my attitude. How could this have been not so annoying? If they were upfront with questionnaires and then the honest meth heads, and people like me with a really not concerning condition, could donate, get paid, and be on our way. To be fair, there was an inconvenient work around; they said I had to have a colectomy or something like that, which is a procedure...likely a surgical procedure where tissue is tested, then I could bring in those results and be "possibly" eligible if I had a negative result. Potentially a cancer disclosing procedure???...who knows...but even if a person was negative for a test and was no longer deferred...then they donate for a year, never disclosing that they got bad news of cancer or another condition that got bad along the way. Or a homeless guy, who's never been seen by a doctor, or heaven forbid a homosexual gay man, who was not honest on his sexual practices...and the plasma would still be useful and used to check off the lawyer blocks on the risk checklist. Not happy Grifols. Do better. As a donor, you'd see my donations in the database. You know...the one that shows if a person is donating all over the place? So, you'd see I'm a healthy donor that just moved here from another state. I'm not slandering you. I'm sharing my experience with you, about your policies, about you not valuing my time, about you costing me over six hours of my life, and not giving a penny. Well...not true, you gave me a band aid after the finger prick. I did call your Complaint number that I was given by staff and spoke to a human that seemed lethargic and not thrilled to be taking complaints. You have my number. I'm waiting to see if you actually call it. Last thing...your employees on-site were respectful, polite, and you could tell they were trying to let me down easily. They are not the issue here...It's your corporate policy. And I am NOT a fan of having my time wasted. I would run away from this plasma location. I theory they have a great system it's just their staff cannot execute it properly. As a new donor it took over ten hours over three days. Don't be fooled by new donor money. The staff in the front doesn't care and lies to you to get you to stay. The staff in the back is nice but is overwhelmed. This place is a fucking joke. I waited 3 hours to be screened as a new patient when I was 5 minutes away from donating they deferred me because I just had a hepatitis b shot. I was told by the "physician" and the front desk people I could come back in two weeks and not have to wait for new patient screening again. I just came back in and the unfriendly girl at the from desk told me I have to wait as a new patient again and there were 15 people ahead of me. I don't understand if you're in such need for plasma why have a screening process that exceeds 3 hours. Who the hell has 3 hours to wait just to be told "no" I don't. I donated almost two years ago. They never paid me my bonus of 100$ for each time after 10 donations. Because of lack of communication on their part. So I never went back. Fast forward I decided ide give them one more opportunity hopefully things are different here in the month of June 2023. The new donor bonuses were 100$ for the first 4 times for a total of 400$. So I went through the entire new donor process again. The first two times I received my 100$ as per the new donor fees was supposed to be. On my 3rd time however I only received 40$ as they told me I am a return donor (because I donated almost two years ago) and that the new donor fee only applies to new donors. Which technically I was. So again they screwed me and didn't bother mentioning that untill after the fact and pretended like someone should have mentioned it. In reality it seems they don't tell you so they can give you as less as possible. Still after nearly two years they pulled the same thing. I should have received 2 more payments of 100$ instead they are saying that's only applies to new donors( which I technically was) and only gave me 40$ my 3rd time. I don't recommend anyone go here I'm not sure how they are still running. Go to Bio Mat if you must donate this company Grifols are only in it for themselves and try to give you as minimum as possible and is an extremely dishonest company. My husband went to this facility (Litchfield and Waddell) on Friday, 1-22-21. He was given someone else's test. They gave him the paperwork and it had someone else's name on it. When he questioned the validity, they went running around and found his order. They immediately took him in a room and did the correct testing. Who know how many other people got the wrong test that day. We know it was at least one other person. read more

I used to donate plasma at CSL in Tempe a few years ago. Naturally, I compare the experience of both. This Grifols (DBA Telecris) is clean and fairly friendly. The security guards aren't mean, and youre not treated like a plasma farm. However, the process is much much much slower than CSL. You have to wait to sign in, wait for the questionnaire, wait for the prick, wait for a bed, wait to be poked, and wait to be bandaged. I've never had CSL take longer than an hour, and here it is 90 minutes on a good day. Sometimes three hours each time! My only really bad experience was when they infiltrated my brothers arm. The man was poking the needle in and out for realistically 5 minutes. Then, the blood return was pinching his arm, and no one helped him. The bruise lasted about 2 weeks and was the size of a grapefruit. They never even repremanded the guy, and he is still poking people without any additional training. However, pros are the cleanliness, walk in appts, the nice security guards, and the flexible hours. Cons are the long waits (compared to csl), the untrained staff, and the occasional pompous technician. Ps, I'm posting this review in return for monetary gain through grifols. By far the worst plasma donation centers in Arizona. They are very strict on you making your appointment within 8 minutes but take a hour, sometimes longer just to get on the machine. I don't understand the purpose of the appointments when you never get seen at the appointment times. But if I'm 8 minutes late to my appointment, I have to make another. They give the least amount of compensation out of every place I've ever been to and stop giving inconvenience compensation. They would take they time calling people but always see them standing around talking to each other rather than getting people seen like we don't have anything else to do with our day. I've seen walk-in places move a lot faster and better compensation. I recommend bpl plasma. This will most likely be my last time at this place. I do not recommend this place to anyone that values their time. If you have nothing to do and willing to take minimal compensation then this is your place. Ps they took away the loyalty bonuses as well. Nothing to keep me coming back. All bad smh. read more

Instead of educating me on what foods not to eat before donating, this "woman" (I use that term lightly because a woman should never do this to another woman) was unhooking me and told me very loudly for everyone to hear how my blood is fat and they don't want it. She went on to say a bunch of stuff in Spanish, then repeated the FAT word over and over so loudly. Then she just busted out giggling saying I must've enjoyed this yummy greasy food I'm always eating. I just wanted to get the heck out of there. She never told me her name and her badge was under her coat, but she's the short round Hispanic chick with a long blonde ponytail. I called and spoke with a manager there, he said he will educate her on it. I believe him, he sounded like a stand-up guy, I think he will handle this, kinda. But I hope she sees this and knows how evil she is for trying to humiliate another woman and bring her down when she's just trying to do the right thing. I know I'm not the only person that she's done this to, she was way too excited and giggly with her coworker talking in Spanish and pointing at my blood, getting off on making other women feel like crap. This wasn't a mistake, she didn't misspeak, this is a character flaw that has no place in medicine. There's a clique like this in every medical building and it prevents care and in this case prevents life saving medicine. If I ever donate plasma again, it will not be at the Northern Ave location in Glendale. Sucks too because absolutely every single person there EXCEPT HER is absolutely phenomenal and makes me happy and does their job with pride and respect for themselves and others. I went in today like I normally do twice a week and have been at the same location more then 20 times, but this time while getting my vitals done, this lady was fixated on my eczema for some reason, mind you my arms have looked the same way since day one coming in there and this young lady has done my vitals on more then one occasion without any issues, but today she pretty much singled me out and making me feel discriminated against because I have eczema, not in all my years of donating has this ever happened to me, they had two people come and look at at my dam arm and deferred me with no reason given, because I have eczema that doesn't effect the plasma nor is it contagious/ She told me I can't come back till it clears up........ it doesn't clear up jerk.....thanks for making me feel alienated. Not sure I'll ever go back. Very unprofessional , and trying get ahold of them threw the website the manager or whoever posted, they will ignore you too. read more

I guess my previous review was taken down. So I will try again...This is a good place to earn a little extra cash. However DO NOT come in here if you are in a hurry, every time I donate there are people in the waiting area mumbling and cursing because they are having to wait. You WILL wait, every single time! The first time you donate, is at least 4 hours give or take and after that initial donation it is about 2-3 hours. They are so short handed, only use about 1/2 of the screening booths at one time and about 1/2 of the donation beds at one time because they do not have enough help. Staff is always talking about difficulty in getting breaks because of this. It has only been this way the past 6 months or so, before that the wait was about 1.5-2 hours, with most booths running and most beds filled. The staff they do have is GREAT! I have never had a problem with anyone. After the special amount you get for being a new donor (I cant remember exact amount, but the first few weeks you get quite a bit more) you get paid $20 for 1st donation of the week and $35 for the second donation of the week. It comes in a debit card, which has limits on where you can use, and fees to use. But I can't tell you exacts because I just save it up, then go online and transfer to my bank account for free. They run lots of specials so you get a little more money here and there, and have raffles occasionally giving away tablets, headphone etc. (not sure why not gift cards or something, I mean most of us are there for extra cash) My only complaint is the fact that they are short staffed. Staff is good, Movies they show on tvs are good, free WiFi that works most of the time. So instead of sitting on your couch staring into your phone, you can come here and stare into it or listen to music and get a little extra cash in your pocket. read more

The only reason why my rating is a 3 star is because of the few people that work there that I truly enjoy there company, other than that no one is professional about what they are doing there. Essentially you guys are a medical facility and after you get done with a donor I swear you all instantly gossip about the littlest things. Not only that but constantly lied to about my incentives and when I asked about it they knocked off five dollars on my donation. They fuck with people intentionally. I sat back down to wait my name for the kyios. My name was never called, I asked if he found my file and he said yes that he told me to go to kyios. He never told me to use it. This center is one of the cleanest in the valley. Plenty of seats in the waiting room, no need to be standing around. Always get in early, especially if you're a new donor. Sometimes a little extra cash congress in handy. Donating plasma not only can help save lives, but can give you an extra $250 a month. (If you a first time donor for DECEMBER they are giving $75 mention my name as a referral ). The staff is very friendly, they explain the process and it's super easy. If you have ever given blood, it's similar. The first time you go there is paperwork and a complete physical so it takes a few hours, but after that just a quick questionnaire and then you donate. They usually have movies playing while you relax on these really cool lounges. You can bring a book, iPod, text, play games on your phone/tablet if you like. I feel like I need to start with that anyone who comes here actually wants to be here, unless you are legit doing this for someone with a specific disease that utilizes plasma for treatment. That being said, I have never had a bad experience. The staff is friendly, the facility is always clean and for the most part they are pretty good about getting you in and out.
