This place is one of our local favorites. Went there on Saturday night for a really delicious dinner. Went with a group of 5 at 6:30 and didn't have any trouble getting a seat. When we were seated by the owner, he took our order and provided us with excellent service. All of us were really pleased with our meals and the surrounding environment, full of character. I ordered a Michelangelo hero which was a huge portion and really delicious. The rest of my group got the eggplant Parmesan, chicken Parmesan, another Michelangelo hero, and a pasta bolognese. The whole group loved their meals and had a great time dining here. We also were served some delicious cannolis before we left which were really yum too. Overall, this is a great local spot. Awesome for ordering in or taking out, their cozy environment with Frank Sinatra music is inviting and we will definitely be back for more of the comforting Italian food, great setting and fun conversation with the owner & staff. read more

Not bad. They have a $10 AYCE lunch buffet that is super fast, so if you are in a time crunch this is a great spot for lunch. It's a little ghetto and definitely on the 'family style side': paper plates, Styrofoam bowls, and grab your own silverware but it had a lot of choices on it. Choices included Eggplant Tapenade, their amazing garlic rolls, gardenia salad, caesar salad, Italian salad, sliced salami, baked ziti, sausage and peppers, homemade meatballs, homemade soup (which was very good but I have no idea what to call it), and some veggies. We were in and out in 30 mins which was great. read more

GROUPON SCAM!!!!!! GROUPONS NOT HONORED NO FREE GLASS OF WATER. MUST PAY FOR WATER BOTTLES. The owner frank treated us like he truly didn't want repeat customers (and this was before he knew we had a groupon). We finished our meal and asked for boxes and a check twice and didn't get them until over 40 mins after we asked. When we got our check, every item on our bill was $1-2 more expensive than the menu listed. We could tell it wasn't worth arguing so we decided to take our losses and we did not argue. We are new to the neighborhood and excited to find a new Italian spot. We called this in for delivery service and that whole thing worked out fine. I called to see if I could add a salad since I did not see it on the menu. They don't have a regular house salad so he made one for me with the dressing on the side. (I can't eat it because I'm allergic to a lot of those goodies.) Super nice guy whose name I didn't get, hooked us up. I almost choked when I found out it was $10 for a side salad for two. Still, he went to the trouble to add it special and was so nice about it, I felt bad to cancel after all that. I really appreciate the time he had taken to help us so I went with it. Salad had some kind of balsamic reduction all over it. I couldn't eat a bite. My husband didn't like it, so neither could he. My angel hair pasta was big fat spaghetti. Turns out they were out. Rather than telling me that so I could pick out something I actually liked, they sent it over. I don't know if it was good. I really don't care for thick pasta and I was so bummed about the salad I hated it more than normal. My husband got shrimp parmigiana. He almost chocked on a tail with shales. It's breaded and fried and was missing the shrimp! Several of the shrimp had tails with shales maybe all of them (but at least they were attached to something). That's a dangerous dish to leave tails on since you can't always see them. When I called, Mr. Still Very Nice Man did really try to make it right although he insisted that in additional to the balsamic reduction that goes on every salad, the dressing is on the side. It was not. Not that I wanted more. He did take the salad off the bill and he even offered to go out and get me angel hair and make it himself! Who does that? That was super nice, but we've been unpacking all day and I am way too famished to wait another hour or more. I couldn't imagine trying it again tomorrow, although he offered. That is why this is a three star review and not a 1 or 2. That spaghetti in my belly is not sitting right, but the guy was just so kind about everything. According to Yelp, 3 stars is A-ok. My experience was anything BUT. I just think since he went the extra mile, I would. We spent so much money moving, I skipped desert and wound up with yucky spaghetti, no salad and sadness all around. The fish tacos are not really tacos, more like wraps. But they are really good. It is a little pricey for $10 but you get a ton of fresh fish. We got the snapper cause they were out of softshell crab. For $10 the subs seem pricey but they are enough for 2 people to split. We got the michelangelo and it was pretty good. Came for dinner with my family. There was no one inside and the dinning room was dirty and tables were unclean. Not sure if the AC works but it was hot inside. Guy was outside said hello I believe he's the owner and just walked walked away to the back of the restaurant. We sat ourselves at the only clean table and waited for anyone to come and greet us. After a few the owner handed us one paper to go menu and asked for our drink order. Some other guy then appeared and was extremely loud taking a catering order remember there was no one else in the place no music, nothing. After waiting in the heat with a guy yelling on the phone and no real service we decided to leave. As we were getting in the car the owner came out and yelled at us said he's we glad we left cause we looked like nasty people anyways. Went to Talia's after seeing the review on Check Please South Florida. What a great "DDD" place and should be on that show as well. We entered the place, stepped up to the counter to order and we were warming greeted by the owner, Andrew. My wife and I told him we were first time customers and he suggested a few items for us to try. I selected the Michelangelo sandwich while my wife had the Caesar Salad with added grilled chicken. The sandwich was one of the best I have ever had, with the Ciabatta Bread making this sandwich stand out. The chicken cutlet was tender and flavorful. My wife enjoyed her salad and the grilled chicken was done perfectly. I returned a week later to take out dinner as I was in the area (I live about 15 miles from Talia's), ordered a Zuppe di Pesce ($13.00 ARE YOU KIDDING ME!) that was so tasty and enough for two. I do wish for a little bit more shellfish but can't complain due to the price. I also ordered a side of meatballs (2) with wonderful Marinara sauce. This place rocks!! This is the place where Italians go to eat! The food is consistently delicious - just like mama used to make!!! Plus the business is very friendly and family oriented. It is one of the best kept secrets in Boca - not for long though!!! They bake the garlic Ciabatta and make fresh brushetta on site! Im driving around all over looking for shrimp parm. And my parents were like you gotta try this place and this was the place. Def not your ordinary restaurant, what i mean is the owner is walking sitting at the tables talking to you like a real Italian spot. There was a waitress tonight normally there is not. No matter what it all came down to the food and for a Floridian restaurant this was great. The shrimp parm was fresh the pasta was good. What also was nice is that i seen some young kids stop in quick got plates and went to buffet where they had good Italian food to choose from and the kids were in and out got a great meal and were off nothing like that in ny Def a nice stop, small place so call ahead. Oh my God this is probably one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. I could not believe that I was eating real authentic Italian food what in South Florida. This place is incredible especially because of the environment, it is truly authentic to Italian cuisine and Italian culture. The owner is incredible. Has a very homie vibe. I ordered here quite a few times over the years and I have to say it was pretty inconsistent. It really just depends on what you get. I like the pasta fagiolo but I also had the eggplant Parmesan and it was terrible the eggplant was mush, the penne Diavolo is probably the best thing on the menu. I've had salads there and those weren't fresh either. Also I can't tell you how many times I tried to get a cannoli and they never had any so they would give me tiramisu which was decent but it wasn't what I wanted. read more

The food was good for the price but they got 2 out of 3 orders wrong and were ambivalent about making things right. We ordered uber eats. The delivery was perfect. Food needed to be microwaved a bit, but that is typical with most deliveries. We ordered a meatball sandwich. We received a meatball and sausage sandwich. I am very allergic to pork. Had I eaten it, I wouldn't be writing a review today. I'd be hospitalized. We ordered a chicken parmigiana entree. We received a chicken parmigiana sandwich. We called and Frankie agreed on a $10 refund. The owner changed things in the morning. We received a $5 refund and his word we would receive a free sandwich with our next order. Since they can't get anything right, I'm hopeful they get this right. If and when we order again I'll write a follow up review. Much, much better than last time. I ordered Lobster Ravioli, conch chowder and New England Clam Chowder. Within 1 minute my phone was ringing- they were out of both soups so I ordered the Gorgonzola salad instead. The Ravioli were excellent. They sent a pasta fagioli with the salad. Both were good. They managed to actually be on time with the delivery. Much better than last time I ordered from here. Give them a shot. 11/17/18. Haven't ordered from there in awhile. Went to Talia's last night for the first time. Got their dinner buffet for $10. Wow, was that amazing! There was an interesting car show going on outside and when we walked inside found a somewhat small, packed restaurant. At the back wall was the buffet & we just helped ourselves, found a table, & then the waitress stopped by to ask us what we wanted to drink. Note, the selection was not huge but everything looked good and my eyes immediately found delicious looking chicken parmigiana and a real good looking bread or garlic bread. I piled up a plate of chicken parm and took 3 pieces of bread. As I sat down and looked at the bread, I told my friend, "WOW!" I hadn't seen bread that rich & crisp looking since my Brooklyn days. I went up to the buffet for a 4th piece of bread and then made 2 large chicken parm heros with the bread. It was DELICIOUS - out of this world! I went up for a 2nd large plate of the same & then took one more small piece of chicken parm and piece of bread for a mini hero. Altogether, I will estimate I devoured the equivalent of three 12" heros (some of you may call them subs, wedges, or Po' boys). How did this slim guy eat so much? Very simple, I had an extremely busy day, doing some physical work at home while having no time to eat. Coming off a 20 hour fast, I was indeed famished and that excellent food sure hit the spot! Do I have any complaints? Not really but when we asked for water we got bottled Publix water and then discovered they were $2 each. For that price, we could have gotten their advertised $2 bottled beers. The beer is a bargain at that price but the water NOT! Yes, was part my mistake for not speaking up sooner but here is my feeling on what occurred with the water: Made the real price of the buffet $12 which was still a bargain considering all I had of that great quality food! Yes, might have a beer next time but maybe it was just as well as one beer is my limit and I was thoroughly satisfied with the food! Only other reservation is that they are not close to my home. 27 miles each way is a little far but it was so good! Very nice peeps running the place too. Glad we went there! read more

Worst wings in town. Not crispy at all, a load of grease at the bottom of the plate, no flavor and obviously frozen. These wings are on par with Papa Johns, Dominos or Pizza Hut. Absolutely terrible. Their lobster ravioli was good though. read more

Wish I could give Talia's 10 stars! What an incredibly delicious find today while traveling down Dixie Highway in Boca Raton today! My mom and I spent the entire day out shopping and suddenly realized we were both starved. We spotted Talia's and the diners sitting out front as well as many cars and decided to give this place a try. Being born and bred New Yorkers living now in S. Florida, we're still fussy about Italian our food. It's got to be real Italian cooking or it's just not Italian food! We shared the yummy Garlic Parmesan wings as an appetizer and munched on the delicious garlic bread brought to our table with our drinks. I then ordered Shrimp Parmigiana with spaghetti and for my mom, Baked Ziti. We could tell everything was made to order and looked as well as tasted unbelievably delicious! We're in Florida over 15 years and haven't had Italian food as good as this since our trips to Arthur Ave!! Okay, so the ambiance is lacking at this place but we didn't care. We came for the great food and not to look at furnishings. We actually love the Mom and Pop feel of places like this and owners who make their customers feel like friends. Frankie, the owner took our order and served us our food and was so impressively personable throughout our meal that when we left we felt like we just eaten at a new friend's house! An out of town family of 5 arrives right at closing time, exhausted after traveling all day and starving. Even though he had family in town, the owner welcomed us in and treated us like royalty. Sat with us and talked, laughed and then served us delicious, steaming hot, authentic Italian food in huge portions. We ate and ate, talked and connected, and then took every morsel that we couldn't eat back our hotel for later. We had classic Italian dishes and pizza, and every plate was fantastic. The bottom line is that if you're looking for white table cloth, five star atmosphere type Italian, or if you're a groupon type looking for something for nothing, you should probably not go here. But you will be missing some incredible food, a comfortable, laid back, welcoming space and an owner that is a heck of a nice guy. It could not have fit our family better. We only wish it was in our neighborhood at home, but we've made a friend that we will come back and see every time we're in Boca. read more

Went there recently with my sister and brother in law.Frank the owner is a great personality, I liked him. We ordered the eggplant parm and the chicken Francaise. We each had a glass of Chianti, it was ok. The portion as previously mentioned are huge. The Francaise was tasty and the pasta al dente with a good bite.The Eggplant parm was very good.2 dishes for 3 people and we could not finish them. We asked for water and Frank pulls out 3 bottles from the fridge no charge.Then we asked for cannolis for dessert.Again he brought out 3 they were delicious best I had. Based off of the menu, it is very apparent the owner is a well educated Italian chef. I was very surprised when I came in to pick up my delivery order and saw that they offer a buffet. I can't say I've ever seen that offered before at an Italian restaurant I'm looking forward to returning to try it. I ordered eggplant parm, calamari, and garlic shrimp and garlic bread. I was really quite blown away by the amount of remarkable flavor packed into the garlic shrimp and the garlic bread. Eggplant was good , just was not cooked enough in the center. The penne pasta ( I thought it was super bizarre they gave me penne) was just poor quality pasta I couldn't bring myself to eat it . A few of us ordered sandwiches to go; the Verde, Marconi and the Michelangelo. When I arrived, Frankie was there to make sure everything was ready to go. Every person that ate their sandwich raved about how good it was. These sandwiches are really good and are different from the food we usually order for lunch. I think 1 star for a place like Talia's is more than fair. Service: Horrible. They seem more concerned helping any friend or family member get situated before you. A party of 5 came through the door after me and my friends came in, and they were instantly seated and given bread and drinks. Meanwhile,no waiter even asked us what we wanted to drink, nor did we have menus. When asked what we wanted to drink, I asked for water, and the guy told me I could buy bottled water or nothing. Are you KIDDING me? I've never been to a restaurant that prohibits complimentary water. Not to mention after we got the meal, the waiter or whoever the hell he was never checked up on us once. He opted to stare at his phone or talk to the party of 5 the entire time, and would not stop laughing and bringing them drinks. Which sucked because he 1. brought out our dishes one by one and 2. he didn't give us silverware, so we had to yell at him from across the restaurant for silverware. My boyfriend got his dish 10 minutes before me. He wasn't very nice either. Food: Nothing special. I could make better pasta at my own house. I had the gluten free penne ala vodka pasta (I was told their GF options were good) and the whole dish tasted like one note, and definitely not vodka sauce. The calamari's sauce was spicy as hell, not a good compliment at all. The portion sizes are huge but I get the feeling everything is just warmed up in the kitchen before hand and not made to order, as I had full view of the kitchen and the guy stood around doing a whole lot of nothing. Also, they advertise a buffet but I didn't see it and when asked the guy laughed at me and said only on 'certain days'. How about you advertise what those days are, or don't say you're also a buffet? Just avoid this place. There's literally dozens of Italian restaurants in Boca. There's also one called your kitchen, where with chef internet recipe, you can go buy your own groceries and make a better pasta dish. read more

I ate lunch there today and I used a gift certificate from restaurants.com The gift certificate was for $10 and you have to spend $20 to use it, and I did. The problem is that they charge you more when you use a gift certificate. The menu clearly states that the drinks are included. But, when I presented the gift certificate, she added an extra $4.38 to the bill. I've been eating there for over 10 years and was never charged for the beverage(because it is included). Quote from the menu "FREE DRINK with Any Lunch In House". Clearly they want the benefit of the marketing through Restaurant.com and don't want to incur the cost of that marketing. This is our FAVORITE place. It's mom and pop (Frank & Olga) and the service is... mom and pop...but the food is DELICIOUS and the glasses of wine are generous and they always know you're name Living in the land of seasonal commercialism...it's nice to have a locals corner place in Boca. We've gotten to know many of the other 'regulars' there and it's always a nice atmosphere and kinda fun that we have 'friends' there. We've tried most of the items on the menu and honestly, it's ALL good. Been going there since Chef Andy owned it. All the recipes are the same and Chef Andy still boasts about it in his cooking classes. YES, Andy's still around and running other restaurants & teaching super fun cooking classes in town. Not the same anymore. Yes, Talia's is known for the sandwiches which are very good. The bread is something to really showcase and brag about. However, its their ingredients in their sandwiches that worry me. Everything is already precooked and then reheated for their warm sandwiches. Sometimes the hot sandwiches are great, other days it seems that I am eating meatballs / sausage from 3 days ago. Their cold cuts are not bad as those are cut fresh when you order, but then again you have no idea how old that meat really is either. I would never eat their pizza here as I think it's terrible but their pasta is not bad either as long as it's fresh and not reheated fro the fridge. Absolutely one of the best dives for an nontraditional italian sandwich, but now it seems like a hit or miss. read more

I used to go there when chef Andy was the owner and now moved back to FL and stopped in to see Talia's to find out Andy is no longer there. Too bad. Here is my review on the place: Dirty. One waiter on a Friday night and another in shorts trying to help. We waited forever to get the waiter to the table. Just have another one on and that would of solved the delays. Ordered the pizza was decent although dough tasted frozen, seafood risotto- flavor bland and rice overcooked and lobster and ravioli- tasted store bought. I bought some at BJ's that were stuffed more. overall ok but again the place looked messy and had the feeling of the chicken without the head syndrome. Ask for the bill and prices we higher than what was on the menu's. I say menu's because there were two different menu's with two different prices and then the actual price was higher than all. Get new menu's or just change them on the board to reflect correct price. Also clean up the place, first impressions are huge in Boca, and I was not impressed at all. read more

Very disappointed. Food was just OK the restaurant was not clean. We were asked what we'd like to drink and responded water. The waiter/ ? Owner brought over two plastic bottles of water. No glasses, ice or straws. Very strange, then I watched him take the same type of water bottle that was already opened and he poured water on the empty tables to clean them. That grossed me out. He took our order and when the food came we still had not had utensils or napkins. Where was I? Also there was only one restroom which was ok except it was DIRTY and the light switch on the wall had no switch plate and the wires were exposed. I know I went for dinner but all of this encompasses in the experience. Think twice before going there. I won't be back. read more

I was researching a place for Gluten-free pizza and came across Talia's. I was trying to call this place a few times on Friday but the call would not go thru. So, I noticed an email address on the website and decided to give it a shot. Since I was a little impatient I decided to call them again just incase.. and finally the call when thru. I ordered: 1- gluten free cheese pizza 1- gluten free peperoni pizza and the penne, rabe and sausage pasta (never tried this before but I figured it would be good) My ordered was ready in 20mins. When I arrived to pick it up I loved the décor of the place. It felt very homey. I am assuming the gentleman that helped me was the owner. He asked me if I had emailed him as well with my order (at least now I know that if the phone doesn't work I can always place an order via email.) My order was ready right away. He even let me try fresh mozzarella cheese. I was soooo good! When I arrived home the pizzas were delicious. Gluten free pizzas are very thin and small. I love that they taste like flat bread pizzas. I will definitely order pizzas from here more often. As for the pasta... Not a fan. I had never tried rabe and I wasn't a fan. It was too strong for me.
