Tutu and Brian have done it again! I first fell in love with Talise Garden in the Multnomah Village French Quarter. When I heard about the new NW Portland location, I did cartwheels. The owners, a truly lovely couple, are so incredibly talented. They work hard, and have great taste and knowledge about their beautiful plants. The shop is ever so carefully laid out, in order to fit a large variety of plants and pots (sooo many fun plants, pots and plant stands). Pride and love oozes from every corner at Talise Garden. My favorite part, Tutu and Brian always greet with a sincere and friendly smile. They truly care about taking care of their customers. They have a magical way of making one almost feel like family, or an old friend. Lucky me! It's the Holiday season, so time to stop by Talise Gardens again. I need a few more gifts, and I am loving the idea of giving cactuses as host/hostess gifts this year. 2919 #17 read more

update: a large majority of our plants are from talise garden. they're all healthy and thriving. we have quite a few throughout the apartment and they've really brightened up our space toad also thinks that talise garden is the best read more

Hello best plant shop in the Pearl/NW/Downtown!! Tutu and Brian are so helpful, so sweet, very welcoming. They have an amazing collection of house plants, pots, air plants. They have a super helpful sign at the register for different types of plants you're looking for (hard to kill!). Besides their plants of course, the best thing about their store are the prices! I got a cute little desk cactus with an awesome little pot..and Tutu didn't charge for repotting it..all for $10!! Can't wait to go back! Only "complaint" (not really) is to get more candles ;) read more

As a beginner plant mom, this was just the place I needed to come to. Tutu and Brian were so helpful, patient and genuinely kind! They even walked my friend and I over to the Thai restaurant next door to ensure we got the best service. Their plants are beautiful and reasonably priced. We will definitely be back again! I recently moved to this neighborhood from the Eastside, so I was thrilled to find a local plant store still open. The owners, Tutu and Brian, have safety precautions in place to make sure we all feel safe in their wonderful shop. They do a great job to make every single customer feel welcomed, and they already know me by name. Talise has a great selection of houseplants, both common and rare. The store is covered in plants - and I am sure you're to find what you need and so much more there. I have made an effort to stop in once per week to say hey and to checkout the new plant stock. They always have some new fun houseplants ready for us. Thank you so much for brining warmth and plant passion to our neighborhood, especially during COVID. It was so kind to receive a few extra small gifts when they found out I had just moved to the area. read more

Small but mighty plant store in the Pearl District! They pack a huge selection into a small space, all without the shop feeling cramped. They also do not stock too much of any one plant, so you aren't trying to pick through dying plants as you make your selections. Everything is fresh and well-cared for. The owners are friendly and genuinely happy to meet and get to know new customers. Even their kids come out and spend some time. It's a truly welcoming place to come. Their prices are slightly below other boutique plant shops. They have a few pots to choose from as well, with those prices being on par with what I've seen elsewhere. It's not cheap, but you're getting healthy, unique plants from lovely people! Once you make your selections, Tutu wraps the plants individually and bags everything up in a way that preserves the plant and the cleanliness of your car. I also appreciated their cheat sheets at the register. Need to know what plants are pet-friendly? They have a list. What plants help purify the air or thrive in certain conditions? More lists. Need to know what a plant symbolizes for a special occasion? You guessed it, they've researched it all and made a list for you. The thought and consideration put into every detail is extraordinary. I only bought a couple of things today, but I will definitely be back for more! read more

Talise Garden is truly a wonderful little plant shop, right in the heart of the Pearl District. I've been in a few times now, and I'm always impressed with their selection and their customer service. It's a great addition to the neighborhood and I hope that they do well. It's a small space, but they make of the most of it, filling every nook and cranny with a wide variety of house plants. They've got most aesthetics covered, along with a range of light needs and ease of care. When I was asking around about low light plants that didn't feel like "office plants" they were quick with suggestions. They also have a nice selection of containers, tasteful and (i think) locally-made. As much as I'd like to have ALL THE PLANTS, I know that I shouldn't. Still, I'll be happy to revisit Talise Garden the next time my green thumb starts to itch. read more

I was told to visit Talise by a Burrow interior designer and wow, I'm so glad he suggested it! Tutu was SO incredibly helpful in finding the right plants for my home. After showing her some pictures of my space she went to work giving me some great low maintenance plants that would do well with my lighting. She then helped find the perfect pot. Her husband delivered the plant quickly after. Giving me tips on how to take care of it. Honestly I could not have asked for a better experience buying plants for my home. I'll definitely be recommending and visiting this place in the future! read more

My partner and I had the most AMAZING experience here! It was our first time in the shop and we are novice plant owners. Tutu and Brian were so knowledgeable and kind. They helped us choose plants and pots for our apartment that were aesthetically pleasing, safe for our cats, and easy to take care of. On top of that, we live in the neighborhood, so they delivered our items to us for free just out of the kindness of their hearts. (We bought a really large plant that probably would not have fit in our car). They truly went above and beyond in their service. We will be purchasing all of our plants and plant needs from these lovely people from now on! read more

The BEST plant shop in Portland! The owners, Tutu and Bryan, are two of the nicest people we have ever met. They are incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and a pleasure to be around every time my wife and I visit their shop. My partner and I love coming in here! They have a beautiful selection of plants and pots, comprehensive lists of what is and isn't pet-safe, easy/hard to kill, high/low light, etc, and they're just SO NICE. And helpful. And there are always really good sales! Today we went in for a couple new plant babies and Tutu repotted them for free (with rocks at the bottom!), and gave us a ton of good advice on how to keep them healthy. Especially as the weather warms up we're excited to stop into Talise more often. A great addition to the neighborhood. read more

Just recently moved to the Portland area and stumbled upon this nursery during a walk. Finally went in one day and fell in love-not just with the nursery but with Tutu the owner. She was so welcoming and so helpful. As a new plant parent I had a ton of questions. She answered everything and helped my boyfriend and I find the perfect plants for our new home. We got a cool industrial console table abd other fool finds. I have bought a few nicknacks that I like and new art when they had a sale. Street parking is easy to find plus they have a parking lot. There are bathrooms. I would say the one thing I dislike is everything is a final sale. I mean absolutely everything. So I have not bought certain things in case they could not work where we want to put them or we were might want to use. Also for gifts since they are not returnable and want to give my gift receiver's that option. Some staff are more helpful than others. So it depends on who is working. Customer service at Muji was friendly and adequate. The staff working in the fitting room area were especially helpful. It would've been great to have more fitting rooms available, as the line moved slowly and took up a good chunk of time. You are also limited to bringing in 5 items at a time but you can swap out items as needed. I ended up purchasing multiple tops and a few pants for everyday wear. I did purchase a few smaller items. The first was a felt coaster which is so perfect! I have coasters for guests which is a whole set but for my daily iced drink covered in condensation, this is so perfect. The card says they are made in Germany by a company called Parkhaus and how to care for and clean the coaster. The other item was a greeting card which I intend to frame. Vancouver Washington artist Claudia Moore makes the cards with foraged leaves and seeds. This is a great spot if you are looking for something unique as a gift or for your home. I have never wanted to leave a review until I walked out of this store. This was the best experience I've ever had in Portland. Tutu is truly the kindest person to walk this earth, she has such a gentle soul and is so thoughtful to each person she interacts with. The selection in the store was beautiful, it's so hard not to spend all of my money here. I live a couple blocks away and they had my dream plant for an amazing price. I couldn't walk with it home, but Tutu offered to deliver it for me. We ended up walking to my apartment together and on top of all of it she potted it for me from one of the gorgeous pots she sells at her store. I have just never been so happy and thrilled from an experience at a store before. Thank you so much again Tutu, you're amazing and make this community a better place. read more

Stopped in yesterday and saw a philodendron billietiae for sale, left without buying it and couldn't resist. I went back in today and bought it! This shop is so cute and filled with all the supplies you could ever need to take care of your indoor plant babies! And some super cute local items too! What a great little but mighty plant nursery in S.E. Portland Oregon…read more I used to live in this neighborhood and it has many hidden gems. Birds and Bees Nursery is one of them. I'm a member of Carnivorous Plants Society of Oregon and one of my things is finding places that sell Carnivorous Plants outside of the big box stores. Sure the big Home store has plenty of Venus Flytraps every year but it's a cruel thing to see a plant abused by employees who don't know how to care for such a plant. First of all this plant has 2. basic needs. 1. All the direct sunlight it can get. At least 12 hours a day. 2. Distilled Water or Rain water. To see this plant living inside the store on a shelf dries out is a difficult thing to see. If it is watered, Tap Water us what it's given. Tap water is a for sure slow death to a Venus Flytrap Plant. So in my search, I found a little nursery in the burbs. Next to a Taco Smell restaurant, full of all sorts of plants from vines to carnivorous plants. In my interest, they had Sundews, Picture Plants and a ton of Venus Flytraps all sitting in the full sun. I found what I thought was a good specimen and when I picked up and looked at the Venus Flytrap I wanted, I realized it was actually 3 small and one slightly larger Venus Flytrap plants in the same pot for (I'm pretty sure in right. I was so excited to find such an awesome plant that I kinda forgot and the receipt wasn't helpful.) $15.00. They're usually about $10.00 for a common Venus Flytrap plant. I basically bought 4 plants for $3.75 a piece. With such great prices, my wife found a couple plants she couldn't leave without. We both left Birds and Bees happy. Update on our plants. They're all thriving in their new home.
