Pretty good find in Talkeetna. We stopped at Talkeetna on our way to Denali. I had read so much about Spinach bread on TripAdvisor and yelp that I knew we have to try it. Quick, fresh and affordable food that's not too oily or heavy on the stomach. They had blueberry rhubarb pie which looked delicious but I didn't get a chance to try it. Definitely go here if you're in Talkeetna. read more

If something could be illegal for being so good. It would be this place! The wait if definitely worth getting some hot fresh bread! The spinach and cheese bread is everything you need for a meal. Just add a bit of hot sauce and it's definitely amazing! The amount of flavor you get from such a simple item it's amazing! read more

Spinach Bread, as has been mentioned, was yummy. Bread was warm, a little crispy, garlicky, lots of spinach, but not too much ;-). Topped with lots of melted cheese. Loved it! Served quickly out of an old airstream. Actually it was four strips of bread for $9.00. Pricey, but worth it. yum yum. For reference, the plate is probably 5", also pictured is my hubby's blueberry rhubarb crisp. He said very good too read more

Small menu but that is what makes this place so good. Everything on the menu is fresh. They use great quality ingredients and service is quick. Cash only spot. We of course had to get the spinach bread after reading all the reviews here and also decided to try the thai yellow curry which was a special on the menu that day. There was no way I could spend time in Talkeetna and not pay a visit to the infamous Talkeetna Spinach Bread. All I can say is that it was raining and cold, but it was worth trying to stay dry(ish) under an umbrella at one of their picnic tables to be able to enjoy their spinach bread and blueberry-rhubarb crisp. I loved the spinach bread but would have enjoyed the blueberry-rhubarb crisp a little more if perhaps it had been served warm. I imagine the chilly weather may have had something to do with that. The staff was lovely, the food truck (Airstream) is adorable, and I'd strongly suggest you enjoy this experience while in Talkeetna. Note, it's cash only. read more

I found them by the 100 person line at the AK state fair, yesterday. All day long the line looked just as long. If it weren't for a woman at a table next to me raving about the blueberry rhubarb crumble I would have just ignored it for the other options (try that Reuben place normally in Palmer). Later in the day I decided to brave the line. It was way faster than I expected. The staff was super efficient and the pricing was better than most other options at the fair. Both the spinach bread and the crumble were far better than expected and I hope they get back to talkeetna before I leave. Totally worth even a long line. read more

We loved this spot for a quick bite after our Talkeetna air taxi ride! We ordered the spinach bread and blueberry rhubarb crumble, then went back up and got their breakfast burrito (I believe only served Thur-Sun, or at least not served every day) to-go for trail food! The spinach bread was yummy and had a great garlic flavor, but the blueberry rhubarb crumble and burrito were our favorites! The crumble has such a great taste, perfect texture, and the whipped cream on top is heavenly (not too sweet and we ordered extra the 2nd time we stopped in haha)! The breakfast burrito tasted amazing (even cold and reheated later) - both types of potatoes were seasoned perfectly, the peppers were yummy, and all components came together well! The service was great and there are some seats in front of the trailer, or it's nice to take your plates/to-go order to the park or riverside for a picnic! I would highly recommend this spot and will be back the next time we're in Talkeetna! read more

My family is a huge fan of spinach bread and when we saw this place, we knew we had to go and we're not disappointed. It took a couple of minutes for the food to come out and we had the Italian soda which was pretty good. When the spinach bread came out it was hot and fresh and tasted very good. This wasn't a problem for us but they only accept cash. I would love to come back to this place. read more

The spinach bread is sooooo good. The blueberry rhubarb crisp is also delicious. Unsurprisingly, the Forbidden Rice Bowl was terrific too -- flavorful, filling, gluten-free and vegetarian (with pork as an optional add-on), it fit the bill for our whole party! read more

Awesome food truck in Talkeetna! Our family of 6 al loved the bread. We stopped here for lunch and based on so many 5star reviews we decided it was a must. And it definitely deserves the rave reviews. We also got the Brazilian limeade and the blueberry rhubarb crisp. Everything was great. The line can get long but it's worth the wait. The Ethiopian black bean bowl is to die for. As a vegetarian now after 70 years, it was hard to give up meat but this did not need meat at all. It was flavorful with just a little heat cooled by the yogurt. I'd have it once a week if I lived nearby. The spinach bread was good too. We are thinking about returning tomorrow for lunch as we head out to Anchorage. read more

Packed up from our camping trip and made a quick stop at Talkeetna Spinach Bread for an order of spinach bread and a coffee. It made the perfect breakfast for the drive back to Anchorage. My husband doesn't even eat spinach and thought it was good. The bread has a great crunch to it without being overcooked and the chunks of garlic were roasted perfectly. The coffee was good too and the staff was very friendly. read more

Best food I had in Talkeetna!! This was a great place to go to! I got the spinach bread and it was delicious. They had lots of hot sauces to try on your bread, which was fun and a good choice if you want to add some heat. This restaurant is out of an old airstream rv, and picnic tables outside to enjoy the food. Definitely a great place to go as it is in the heart of Talkeetna and around other fun shopping/ restaurants/ and coffee shops. Someone in our party also got the breakfast burrito and loved it! read more

Who knew you could do so much in a converted airstream trailer? Though it's called Talkeetna Spinach bread, I think the signature item is the rhubarb crisp with whipped cream. Our group of 3 tried it our first afternoon there, and also the following morning. Additionally, the breakfast burrito it great, too. Note that it is CASH ONLY. read more

Breakfast burritos is all you need for the day. Huge, tasty and vegan. Friendly staff. Nice little outdoor steering. The spinach bread was very tasty but expensive. Limeade was tart, sweet and delicious. It's a cash only operation so bring bring cash with you. For what we had it was $25. read more

I am so glad that I could spot this place. What caught my attention was the Today's special board which read Masoor dal which is an Indian name for a kind of pulse. An airstream in a cute little town of Alaska having an indian item as their special. Speaking to the host learnt that she has no India connection but loves indian food and tries them on her own. And I would like to say it was the best I have ever had in a restaurant. Also tried the Brazilian limeade and their popular spinach bread. Everything was a delight. Did I mention they had organic, gluten free options. Living in a beautiful town like Talkeetna, pursuing her passion of cooking which beautifully translates into sheer delight for the customers. We tried the spinach bread which was crispy, well toasted and with plenty spinach and garlic :) It was eggless, so a bonus for my parents who don't eat eggs at all..not even as an ingredient! When we heard that the State Fair was cancelled for the year, we knew that we needed to take a trip to Talkeetna to get spinach bread from the source. It, of course, did not disappoint, and it was just as delicious, crispy, and cheesy as usual. We also got a cup of their Brazilian limeade, which is always a refreshing pairing with the spinach bread. 100% worth the drive from Anchorage. Definitely will come to the original location again. read more
