Followed Yelp's reviews to try out Avalon and let me tell you I am a happy camper now. My gel manicure said it all. I was treated very nice and professional by Max. He understood my needs and expectations. I don't like places where the technician pushing to be done with a customer, nor trying to upsell you to the point where your annoyed. I found that this place is the exceptional experience from what I have been trying. I also love the atmosphere and the well designed shop which doesnt have model hands pictures hanging allover the place. The accommodate all guests, whether you're a walk-in or if you made a reservation. I wish I knew the woman's name that did my nails! She was awesome. She was very serious and got down to business as soon as I walked in. I'm not usually one for small talk anyway, so I didn't mind that she was quiet. The only time she spoke was to ask about the service (what nail color, what length I wanted my nails, etc). I got a gel manicure and this was by far the best gel manicure I have gotten done professionally! She was very precise in not getting polish on my cuticles and if she did she would fix the mistake immediately. I was in the salon for about an hour. I loved that she took her time and was not trying to rush me out to get to the next customer. I would suggest going early afternoon or early evening because it does get busy around dinner time on the weekends. But, you won't be waiting for more than 15 minutes. Overall, this will be my new place I get my nails done! I made another appointment for another gel manicure, and this time I'm getting a pedicure because I saw the man that works there doing some of the customers pedicures, and it looked very relaxing and they do there best to accommodate you!

We made an appointment ahead of time for two pedicures in the middle of the day. The person I was…read morewith had her service done by who she regularly sees there. But I was very obviously a learning experience for the new person. The first few minutes they literally just filed my wet toenails into all different shapes even though I said I wanted French tip. I looked around and saw a few other workers just hanging around, I was going to ask for someone more experienced but I figured he HAD to be good enough if they gave me him for my service. Fast forward about 20 minutes later my toenail cuticles were not tended to, same thing with any dead skin around my toenail. (gross but let's be for real here, it's part of the service.) As he's painting my toes he's trying to cut and fix my now dry cuticles. Attempting to salvage this experience I guess, wiping stuff off and then recurring my nails, there was 0 method. I had to actually say something about the shape of my toenail once he had "finished" the French tip. It was not even on either side and I was not looking to walk around like that for a month when I could've done a better job myself at that point. Another worker had to redo all of my French tips, and fixed most of the previous mistakes so it was like having a second pedicure. This is all while the person I'm with is finished up just waiting for me. I really do not strive to be difficult but in this economy, going out for a pedicure is a treat and it didn't feel like that. I felt my service was very rushed through and a half ass job. Even tho I came in asking for the same service as who I was with, I definitely did not receive the same attention and care. I didn't even get a hot towel or a half ass foot rub with lotion. I was charged full price but given two small lotions as maybe an apology???? Moral of the story, don't put someone in your store to work that isn't able to execute consistent and quality work. I assume it was the owner I was next to who was just watching TV while all of this happened. I, as a customer, shouldn't feel the need to correct the person doing my service. Being put in a situation where I felt less than important definitely affected the overall experience for me. A pedicure should be a luxury, not a learning experience. This place simply isn't what it used to be. Also it smelled like someone was making ramen noodles in the back and it was gross.

I tried this place out the first time the other day for an acrylic fill. The service was nice and the workers were exceptionally friendly. The woman doing my nails was very sweet. However, the process seemed pretty rushed!! Took only about 30-40 mins once It was my turn. After applying a new acrylic coat, the nail technician did not push the sides of my skin down before the acrylic dried, so it stuck to my skin and burned pretty bad from the quick friction while she was filing and shaping them. I'm not satisfied with the end result either... the shape (coffin) itself is decent but the paint job especially is very messy... access acrylic that wasn't shaven down didn't look neat. I've noticed a lot of good reviews about this salon, but from my own personal experience, I've had much better and more satisfying experiences with various other salons.
