    Vegetable Samosa

Had a great lunch experience here. We got the mango lassi, the veg samosa, and the chicken masala, and another dish I can't remember the name of. All of the food was so delicious and flavorful. We got medium heat (probably could've gotten it a little spicer though). The staff was quick and very friendly. We were in and out in under 45 min. The inside was clean and decorated nicely. Will definitely be back again.

Tried the chicken hara which was also delicious and flavorful! The saag paneer and chicken tikka masala were ordered to-go and were still hot fresh and delicious.

Excellent Indian food and a wonderful lunch spot after a day of shopping and running errands in Winter Park. Portions are generous, food is cooked perfectly and tastes amazing, and service was great! The interior decoration is fresh and minimal, but there's not a ton of character. Definitely recommend.

Fabulous lunch. Great food & service. The lunch plate is a fabulous mix of flavors with generous portions.

Love this place. The food is so good. Service is wonderful. They got plenty of seatings. Perfect for family, friends, and dates. They start with complementary papad and chatney. The garlic naan was so buttery and soft. Just perfect!

Always delicious! Tonight ...just appetizers. I felt very welcome here. Service was excellent. Food was served hot.

My new favorite go-to spot for Indian food! The price point, portions, and service were all ideal for a sit-down meal with friends and/or a significant other. Why party of 4 went in on a weekday night, without reservation, and had no issue being seated and served. We loved the amount of sauce for the poppadoms and they gladly gave me a container of it to go when I asked about it at the end of the meal as well! The spice here is no joke, be ready for the sweats if you like your food spicy! The flavor of the meals were spot on. My s/o and I ordered an entree each and an appetizer to share, and we took home half of each of our entrees. Must try: garlic naan and chicken korma. Everyone at the table loved the chicken korma sauce. Samosa chaat was pretty good too! Would come back again!

Was out on a lunch date with my husband, we decided to try out tamarind and the food wasn't great but after a couple bites I could not believe what I saw, cockROACH in my food, absolutely disgusting! Do not come here, I might even have to call DBPR on them, despicable, disgusting.

Was honestly very impressed and satisfied! Food: 5/5 delicious! They have a great lunch special as well. Their chickpeas were very tasty. Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 4/5

Phenomenal food! I enjoyed the chicken vindaloo, spicy of course, and we also ordered the chili naan, garlic naan and cheese naan. They were all wonderful. Can't wait to be back!

Another successful dining experience with high-quality deliciousness. The garlic naan was buttery and topped with plenty of garlic. My masala dosa was tasty, served with potato and lentil dip, spicy soup, and a green coconut chutney. My son inhaled his Malai kofta. The food came out fast and piping hot. We were very satisfied.

Located in a prime place closer to universal resort hotels. Went here to celebrate a birthday. Made a reservation through google and the place got busy. The ambience was nice. The food and service though was a disappointment. Service was very slow. Apart from the Hakka noodles, I did not like any of the item. Tried the Rasmalai which was sub par.

Hi, I want to ask if the Tandoori Chicken and butter chicken are spicy? I want my girl tries something new, but she cannot handle spicy food that well. Thanks!

That's the great thing about Indian cuisine, they can make it to your level of spice. Tikka Masala is great to start with if you like saucy food. Tandoori is more like how fajitas are at a Mexican place, Made with spices but not saucy. Naan is like…

For my appetizer, I had the Dragon Chicken, which was SO good and a surprisingly large portion! Definitely a standout and easily big enough to share. For my entrée, I chose the Chicken Tikka Masala. The sauce was delicious, rich, flavorful, and especially good soaked up with the naan. I did wish there was a little more chicken in the dish, and for the regular menu price I would expect the portion to be larger. That said, I really liked that the entrée came with both white rice and naan, and the naan was excellent. For dessert, I tried the Ras Malai. I didn't realize when ordering that it is made with cottage cheese, and unfortunately the texture just wasn't for me. That's definitely more of a personal preference than anything! I would have loved to see something like their lava cake offered as one of the Magical Dining dessert choices for another option. Service was really good throughout our dinner. We were celebrating a birthday and they made it feel special, which we really appreciated. At the end of the meal, they brought us plenty of to-go containers and even offered us additional rice and naan to take home, which was such a nice touch. Overall, Magical Dining was a great way to try Jala. Beautiful atmosphere, attentive service, really flavorful food, and that Dragon Chicken is definitely something I would order again!

But the food lacked in flavor and spice. We stopped in a little after 1:00, ordered 3 of the lunch meal sets, which include your choice of lunch size curry, naan, small portion on yellow lentils, naan and two dips (one cilantro/mint & the other a sweet tamarin mix) and tiny cup of creamy mango desert. Naan was good and a lot. We choose the paneer saag, lamb vindaloo, and lamb coconut - all medium spiced. Nothing was cooked to order, asked for medium spiced, all were barely even mild. The paneer saag was a puree, not to my liking - like mine to still look like spinach (leafy?), the lamb in both dishes was over cooked, rubbery. The vindaloo had no flavor. It was kind of like the Bland Indian food you would expect at a buffet. Sorry to say this may be our last visit.

Ambiance is nice. Good lighting, classy looking tables, some nice, chill Indian music playing softly in the background. Good stuff. Service was good. Our server was very friendly and did his best to answer our questions. We needed some allergy friendly food, and there were a few questions where he just didn't know and made a best guest. That's fair, I guess, but that just needs to be better. Food came out timely and nice and hot, the tandoori chicken sizzling up a storm. Now for the food. I started off by getting a Vegetarian Special Appetizer (A combination platter with samosa, aloo tikki, onion bhajiya, mixed pakoras and chili pakoras) for the table. These are always fun, because you don't always know what you're eating. Samosas are always wonderful, and the onion bhajiya is like a better latke. Get this if you like to sample things. Then I had a Lamb Biryani (Lamb and basmati rice cooked with saffron and spices, garnished with cilantro, nuts and raisins). If you're a biryani fan, I'd probably pass on this one. Not a great example of biryani. Very little saffron and other garnishes. There are other great things on this menu. Of course, I had to get some Garlic Naan (Light bread made with fresh garlic, herbs and cilantro). A+ delicious. Light, rippable, soft, garlicky, good for grabbing food like you don't have silverware and adding flavor and texture to every bite. The Chicken Tandoori (Chicken marinated overnight in yogurt with fresh Indian spices and grilled in a clay oven) came out last and on its own, sizzling like the center of attention like a steak fajita. Chicken was well-cooked and very tender. Lots of good flavor, but maybe a little too salty. Overall, this was a very good introduction to Indian food for a few of my co-workers. I'm glad we came. It was a nice visit.

The woman who answered was rude and said a party of 12 had walked in before our reservation, so the wait could be a while. Since we had planned our day around this dinner, we came anyway. Before we were seated, I placed the order for the table, which definitely helped. The papadam was freshly fried and tasted good, but it was a little oily. The gobi Manchurian lacked crispness and could have used more sauce. The paneer makhani had a strong elaichi flavor, but they were generous with both the paneer and the sauce. Also, we requested medium spicy and it wasn't different than the kids mild. The naan was fine, though a little on the crispy side. The Schezwan noodles were good but were the last dish to come out.
