Found this small Indian restaurant looking for good food around the neighborhood. They have a lunch buffet all week, with a slightly cheaper buffet during the weekdays. I never spend more than $21 here for the buffet and a drink, and I always leave happy and full The food is delicious, chock full of flavor. The butter chicken is creamy and tender, paired perfectly with very tasty fresh naan that is constantly brought out for the buffet. The tandoori chicken was also cooked perfectly with some really good spices packed in. The only complaint I have is that I can never fit just one more plate in before getting too full of all the yummy dishes they serve! Me and my girl saw this Indian place off the side of Semoran, and when we went in the atmosphere was very calm with people enjoying their meals, we were greeted and quickly seated. Not two seconds after he pointed towards the buffet where we promptly got up to serve ourselves some food. They had a decent selection like soups, curry, chicken, vegetables, goat, etc.. All the food was freshly cooked and was very rich flavor and savory and if you're interested in this kind of cuisine, you'll be satisfied. The food here is amazing! We had the appetizer sampler, with 2 types of samosa and 3 types of pakora with 2 different chutney. It was our first time trying pakora. The chicken was my favorite, but the vegetable pakora was also good. Our server was great at answering questions and giving recommendations. We had chicken tikka masala and chicken Pala and both were tasty. The AC was down the day we went, but it wasn't bad since most places have it too cold. I've only tried the buffet at Friends Indian Cuisine so far, but it seriously did not disappoint! I'm a big fan of Indian food, but I'm super sensitive to spice, so I usually have to be picky with specific ordering which is why I love a buffet I can try things off of. I did not have any problems with a spice level here yet everything was super flavorful without being too hot, and I loved that. They had a really nice mix of vegetarian and non-veg options, and everything I tried was fresh and delicious. Honestly, it's such a solid spread for the price can't beat it. Only thing is, sometimes you might have to wait a few minutes for your favorite dish to get refilled, but that's probably just because everyone else is loving it too! Definitely worth the wait. Highly recommend if you're craving Indian food that's tasty, not too spicy, and super budget-friendly. The buffet was well stocked but we did come right when it opened at 11:30am. Our waiter was very friendly and kept our waters filled. I went for the buffet. Overall, it was generally flavorless. The staff lets the food sit for far too long. They also dump fresh rice on top of old rice so it leaves genuinely crunchy rice at the bottom. If you come at a bad time, then you're going to get dry chicken, flat naan, and crunchy rice. Back again! I've been to friends several times at this point and often for their lunch buffet. I LOVE this place. The lunch buffet has chilis on it if you like to nibble them as you eat for some spice (which I love, I'm addicted to peppers), but the entire buffet is super approachable for the less spice tolerant. I love to come and get the vegetable curry and pakora and rice and all the things. It's very clean and everyone is super friendly. I'd definitely recommend for lunch or takeout! Friends was surprisingly good. I don't eat a lot of Indian food. Just TV dinners and the stuff you find on cruise buffets. So I'm not an expert. But if you've never tried Indian food, Friends' buffet is a good way to dip your toe in the water. If you're nervous, start with the tandoori chicken. It's the most familiar tasting choice, and it is really good. I really liked the chicken biryani. It's spicy, so be aware of that if you're sensitive to spicy food. I stopped by the restaurant for lunch on Wednesday, January 25, 2023. I've had their lunch buffet in the past but, I decided to come in at their opening to gauge the freshness of their offerings from the get-go. And lucky I was, as I was the first customer of the day and before me were buffet trays as yet untouched by human hands. The Indian buffet had all the culinary greatest hits including chicken biryani, chicken korma, chicken tikka masala, tandoori chicken, chicken gumbo (oh, sorry Forrest Gump reference), aloo pakora and of course, the requisite naan bread. There is also salad and lentil soup available as starters and gulab jamun and rice pudding for dessert. I can tell you everything I had was hot, newly cooked, flavorful and delicious. As to the service, Mohammad was friendly, accommodating and quick to answer my questions. Plates were removed in an efficient manner and my water glass was always filled. The best part was the cost of this wonderful buffet was only $13.83 including tax. Friends Indian Cuisine serves a full lunch and dinner menu which I no doubt will partake in the future. The food here is soooo good! The service was great! I did take out and when I got in, they were so kind and helpful. One of the staff showed me the buffet area and told me about some of the specials they do. The food was so nice and hot-even stayed hot for the drive home and some time after until we were done eating. The portions are great for the price as well! We will definitely be returning soon!! We ate the food so fast that we didn't even get pics but the samosas are big like palm sized. They're really good! The roti was good as well and the chicken vindaloo was really good mild. We hosted a family reunion dinner here on a calm and cool evening after hurricane Ian. We were thrilled they were open as this is our niece's favorite Indian restaurant in Orlando! The well lit decor is pretty funky with modern artistic posters on the walls, a large photo of the spectacular Taj Mahal, bright colors and Bollywood playing continuously on a large TV. I liked it! We checked out the menu and found very affordable food with the standard wide variety of Indian dishes we are used to. I encouraged my guests to over order and try everything. We all needed food to go anyway! You only live once! Our waiter was a little surprised with us as we ordered more, and more and then even more to go! We had a delicious blast trying samosa, pakora, four types of naan, mango lassis and then 5 different entrees. My wonderful wife of course ordered Indian extra hot and I politely made sure the waiter took accurate note of it. No mild American here! I went with my standard vegetarian korma which is my favorite dish only behind the famous biryani in Hyderabad. We laughed, reminisced and caught up while we stayed for a few hours. It's like an Ace Hardware store - it's not huge like Home Depot, but the Lunch Buffet has what you need. When the price at Moghul (now "royal southern kitchen" or "RSK") up the street hit $19 on Sat/Sun, I thought it might be worth trying Friends at the more family-friendly $15 price. While you don't get as many frills as RSK (like fresh naan brought to the table, or a larger selection of food), I'm pretty content with the more humble spread, including 2 types of chicken (Murgh and Tikka), the 2 key desserts (Galub Jamun and rice pudding - RSK changes desserts frequently but often has neither of these 'greatest hits'), and a good selection of vegetarian offerings (chickpeas, paneer). I'll still be a customer at RSK, but it's good to have made a friend with Friends. read more

However, food was flavorful and had perfect spice level for medium spice. Ordered Vegetable Makhni, Mix Veg Curry and Tadka Daal. You get an option to buy the entrée with rice (at no additional cost) or with your choice of bread (which is a few dollars less than if you were to order the bread by itself). This was something new...as at most of the Indian restaurants rice comes with the entrée. The quantity was good. I stopped in for their weekend brunch (around $15 before T&T), and there was much to like. In particular, the variety of dishes available was reasonable (though not particularly extensive), most of what they offered was pretty healthy (neither too greasy or salty), and everything I tried was quite tasty. That said, there was some room for improvement: my piece of tandoori chicken was undercooked/rubbery, and the chicken curry was quite a bit overcooked. Apart from that, the ambiance felt a little run-down, and I though the food could have been presented a little more appealingly (not always easy to do with a buffet, of course, but still). The staff here are so friendly and attentive, and always have a big smile on their faces. My friends and I have been here a few times and we always love their food! First off, the price at the restaurant is amazing! Mango lassi is $3.99 and most of their entrees are $12-15! Speaking of food, Friends have some of the best Indian cuisine in the city! We love their Chicken and Lamb Tikka Masala! The sauce is tangy with the sweetness from the tomatoes, and the great aroma of coriander and garlic. The chole palak is equally delicious! The creamy sauce pairs so well with the light flavors of the chickpeas and spinach, making each bite a party on the taste buds! My friends also love the biryani and wide selection of naans here - from traditional garlic naan (my go to) to bullet & Kashmiri naan.
