Imagine a spot that's equal parts Mumbai majesty and Southern comfort. You walk in, and the vibe is instantly lively--like a Sunday supper where everyone actually likes each other, just with way better spices and a whole lot less drama. They've got these plush, deep green velvet booths that hug you sweeter than a Southern grandma, paired with large, dramatic blue dining chairs that practically scream, "Sit and Stay a While". Everywhere you look, there is gleaming copper decor catching the light, reflecting off soft, warm wood tones that keep the whole place from feeling stuffy. It's upscale, sure, but it breathes. It is bustling, animated, and humming with gossip and laughter. It's high-end, but not overly formal. Now for the bar - The Old Fashioned is absolutely gorgeous, the star of the show being the unique craft ice. That giant block of ice is taking up about 90% of real estate so they are giving you a very short pour on the liquid. It's about three sips of actual cocktail swimming around a diamond-grade ice cube. It is high-end and it tastes wonderful--just don't expect a heavy pour. A must try - The Ultimate Four-Cheese Truffle Kulcha, they threw out the rulebook for this blend. Pillowy, tandoor-baked dough with sharp, bitey white cheddar, a wonderfully funky and oozing brie, a sharp and nutty asiago, and just enough mozzarella to give you a cheese pull that stretches all the way to next week. It's laced with finely minced fresh chili and topped with blistered, smoky shishito peppers, complete with a truffle flex. Now hold onto your pearls, darlin', because their butter chicken is not that neon-orange, overly sweet butter chicken you get from the mall food court. This is the sophisticated, high-society glow-up that your tastebuds have been praying for. They start with chicken thighs that are so perfectly moist it ought to be a crime. Then the Gravy (The Showstopper): This is a velvety, luxurious makhani sauce made from deeply smoked tomatoes and red peppers. It has a sultry, back-of-the-throat woodsmoke depth that plays beautifully with the sweet acidity of the peppers. It's finished with a generous dusting of fragrant, herbaceous fenugreek leaves. Just when you think it can't get any richer, it's crowned with dehydrated butter that melts right back into the sauce as it hits your table, creating an impossibly glossy, silk-sheet texture. The food is pure luxury, but the rice portion is giving 'recession.' Don't let them starve your sauce--order extra rice right out of the gate and eat like the king or queen you are. Before you get completely drunk on truffle butter and smoky makhani sauce, you need to look at the bottom of that menu, they are slipping in a warning and I am here to make sure you don't get caught off guard when the check drops. They are feeding you like royalty, but they are also making sure their staff gets paid like royalty--automatically. Check your math before you add an extra tip, because that 20% is already locked, loaded, and heading straight for your credit card.

10 out of 10!!! Food & drinks were amazing, the service was great and the dessert was "a labor of love" to quote the chef. High end Indian food at its best. Can't wait to come back.

We went for date night on a Saturday night. We sat outside because it wasn't too hot out. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu. We decided to have the Lollipop Chicken as a starter, which was good but the other dishes out-shined it. I would recommend this starter if you are new to this cuisine or are nervous about the spice level. The Okra Chaat was amazing. It had so many layers of textures and flavors, the more you dug in the better it got. Then we ordered the Lamb Shank with Butter Naan. The lamb was fall off the bone tender and very flavorful, but the Naan was some of the best I have ever had. The Naan was hot, blistered, thin and had such a satisfying chew! The ambience and service was outstanding as well! We will be back!

Not too often does one get to experience a Michelin Guide featured Indian restaurant, so I was excited to find this while I was in Raleigh for a quick work trip. I sat at the bar, Dylan the bartender was very friendly and helpful; clearly knowledgeable of the menu and he had all the recommendations, which I fully trusted in my selections. I thoroughly enjoyed all of it! The greener grass cocktail was a no brainer, my go-to is always a simple gin drink, made with herby fresh ingredients, and egg white foam is always a bonus! The mushroom "made in heaven"...I've never eaten a meal so slow, all I wanted to do was savor the flavors with every bite. When you are presented with this dish they serve it with a cup of mushroom cappuccino that is poured table side. You take a bite followed by a sip, this really helps with enhancing the earthy flavors. The foxtail millet risotto was a texture I really enjoyed. I like risotto and couscous (what I'd compare to the foxtail millet) on its own so to prepare the millet in a creamy risotto way was lovely. The shrimp was nicely balanced with spice, creating a gentle heat. I soaked up the extra sauce from the chilli shrimp with the laccha paratha. I would love to return, but with a large party so we can enjoy family style, more people = more to try.

Absolutely fabulous dinner at Tamasha. The restaurant is beautiful inside, the tables are not crowded at all. The staff were all welcoming and helpful and the owner came around to talk to everyone. Of course the food and drinks were the highlight and were amazing all around. The cocktails were impressively concocted and presented and the food was authentic and delicious. Some highlights among the many delicious things we tried were the spicy shrimp appetizer, the slow cooked black Dahl, the pork buns, the snapper and the butter chicken.

Tamasha is the kind of place that immediately feels special the moment you walk in: vibrant, modern, and buzzing with energy. Every dish we tried was genuinely good, which is not something I say lightly. The butter chicken absolutely stole the show: rich, creamy, and deeply spiced without being overwhelming. I'm still thinking about it. The surprise standout for me, though, was the pork bao -- tender, flavorful, and a fun twist that really worked. You can tell there's intention behind the menu and execution. That said, come prepared: this is definitely a splurge spot. Portions lean on the smaller side, and prices reflect the upscale experience more than a casual Indian meal. For me, the quality and flavor delivered, but it's something to be aware of before you order half the menu (tempting as it is). Overall, Tamasha delivers bold flavors, beautiful plating, and a memorable dining experience (also very responsive staff). Perfect for a special occasion when you want Indian food with a modern edge.

Great service and modern setting. Food is OK depending on the item. Favs were the chicken biryani and truffle kulcha. The TFC chicken and orka chatt. Was surprised how underwhelming the butter chicken and lamb shank were considering they are the house favs. Worth giving it a show given its modern appeal and stellar setting. However the food does not match the customer service and environment.

This was my second time visiting Tamasha and was a lot better than my first experience. I love the ambiance and the overall decor the place. We tried to keep with basic with what we ordered this time. Here is what we got: Lamb Sheekh Kabab: cooked perfectly. Tender juicy and has a slight kick to it. Butter Chicken: Creamy, flavorful and the chicken is grilled perfectly. The only thing I will i'd ask of them is to slice the chicken into chunks vs. giving two big pieces. Dal-e-tamasha: I love a good daal and theirs seemed like was slow cooked to enhance the flavors and make it thick. Loved it. Twin Flames: this cocktail was ok. I wouldn't get it again. It looked pretty but the taste wasn't that great.

The food was tasty and unique, and both the waiter and bartender were very nice. Overall, we enjoyed the meal. However, I was disappointed that our 20th wedding anniversary was never acknowledged, even though I mentioned it when the restaurant called to confirm the reservation. I also made note of it when we made the reservation via OpenTable. For such a special occasion, that small gesture would have meant a lot and would have made the evening feel more memorable.

I normally dine at the smaller mom and pop type places, but I found an occasion to try this place which promises a higher end atmosphere and modern Indian cuisine. It has a dress code, but you can sit outdoors and dress more casually. I got the kind of attentive service you'd hope for; apparently we're in the Deep South here because my server had picked that I was a vegetarian from my online profile I used to make a reservation, and the conversation was about how he didn't think much of vegetarian food until he started working at this place. But he was familiar with the options for special dietary needs and had recommendations. I wish I'd had room to try more, but I clearly made the right call when a beautiful salad with pressed melon and cheese crisps appeared in front of me. I ordered a salad needing some fiber because I was pitched on the paneer in a nut-based sauce, which is quite rich. The preparation was majestic, with pistacho layered inside thin slices of paneer. The naan on the side was quite small and insufficient by itself to do much with the sauce, but I was seeking quality of food more than quantity and I made it work. Adding a non-alcoholic shrub on the side was good but I wouldn't have missed it; I was surprised that they didn't seem to have chai. Their dessert menu and chaat items looked impressive as well, but with only one stomach I called it a night. It fits the bill as a special event kind of restaurant, and clearly the Triangle has enough demand for high quality Indian food to support it.

My dining experience at Tamasha is one of the best I've ever had. Chef Chhatwani's creations are nothing short of heavenly... Everything about this locale is intentional: the lighting, the decor, the colors... it's truly the perfect date spot. I'd like to recognize Sam Sanchez at the bar, who guided me from cocktail to entree and beyond for my eventual second visit while in Raleigh. He listened closely to my taste preferences, and his recommendations were flawless (although I can't imagine ANYTHING on the menu isn't delightful). On my first visit I started with the Byadgi Chili Shrimp and then feasted on the Lamb Sheekh Kebab. The shrimp texture was just right and the coconut sauce is a perfect compliment. The lamb kebab comes in two separate pieces; one is wrapped in naan and the other is naked. The chili beurre blanc sauce has a kick that I really enjoyed! And my favorite: Dal-e Tamasha, 24 hours slow cooked black lentil. My mouth is watering even as I think about it. You might think something as humble as lentils could not make one's heart race... but you would be wrong. My second visit saw me reunited with my dear Dal-e Tamasha plate and what became the pinnacle of my visit to Raleigh: MUSHROOM "MADE IN HEAVEN" dish. It is difficult to describe how AMAZING every bite is. There is a complexity of flavors that somehow blend AND standout. Each nibble of the dumpling and a bit of risotto along a sip of the "umami bomb" is an experience. I am actually very glad I was sitting on the patio dining solo because I was able to give my full attention to this experience. To wrap it all up, I was fortunate enough to try the pink guave lemon lime and tahin sorbet... don't snooze on it, it's a must try! A big shout out to the Tamasha team, owner Mike (thank you for checking on me and chatting up spices and culture!), and Chef Chhatwani for sharing your passion with the world. I can't WAIT to return to Raleigh and visit again.

Entrees- Branzino, butter chicken, briyani, mushroom, saag

Nice, classy ambience. Service was excellent. We were celebrating my birthday, and the staff made it feel special with plenty of birthday wishes and a cute hand-drawn note on the receipt. The food was very good, though my favourites are still the classics (briyani, saag, etc.). Took one star off because a 20% gratuity was automatically added despite our party being only four people. Unfortunately this wasn't mentioned on OpenTable where I made the reservation so take note.

Tamasha met all my expectations. The chef clearly is passionate for his craft! Each dish was presented to us thoughtfully and beautifully by every staff member. They definitely try to curate and experience for each dish. The restaurant itself is very gorgeously decorated with modern twists. Its hard not to notice the care that goes into each meal. Supe

I've NEVER had a beef sandwich that was better than Portillo's but Postino you managed to take a hometown classic and elevate it to a point beyond my expectations - if you get this sandwich I recommend getting it on the ciabatta bread versus focaccia. Let's not overlook the tomato soup - it's so rich and flavorful. For a lighter lunch my go to is the tuna panini with broccoli salad. They are known for their boards, I've not had the bruschetta yet but it looks delicious. My favorite board is the hummus. One thing I hate is when a restaurant gives you a big bowl of hummus and not enough pita. That is not the case here, you'll get pita, toasted bread, and a variety of vegetables to scoop up the velvety humus covered in cherry tomatoes, red onion and feta. For date night enjoy a Violet Femme a gin cocktail that tastes as lovely as it looks. The service here is top notch! Everyone is fantastic. I'll have to come back to this review to note the serves names we've had because they have all been exceptional. Now let's talk about the vibe! Postino's nailed the indoor/outdoor feel.
