And you can use the QR code laminated to the table to order. We did it the old-fashioned way by politely speaking to our server. We got a variety of dishes to share, starting with the Yakitori platter. For $19.99, you can choose 5 skewers from the a la carte selections (except for the pricier seafood skewers). They were grilled and seasoned well. I really liked the Fried Kaki (aka kaki fry, fried oysters). The breaded oysters were tender, fresh & juicy. We also shared Chicken Yakiudon, Yakiniku Don & Pork Katsu Don. The yakiudon was very good and the katsu was crispy and generously sized. I did not like the sauce on the beef in yakiniku don. The texture tasted strange. I'll try the gyudon next time. There are a lot of restaurants on this block with a variety of ethnic cuisines and I would make Wafuu a regular spot when we come to Forest Hills.

My friend has a newborn and we were trying to find restaurants in the area that would be stroller-friendly (which actually isn't an easy task, to my surprise) and finally landed on Nick's because we had gone there together when it reopened. And it always seems very family and kid-friendly. We definitely went to the right place. I'm not a parent and I've never pushed a stroller without some bumps here and there, and I was so worried about helping get the stroller through the 2 doors. One of his staff saw us from the inside and immediately came out to help as soon as we reached for the door. Nick's paternal instincts definitely came into full effect because he looked out for us and wanted to give us the best seats so that we can have the stroller beside us. The pizza is excellent and I absolutely would come here over again and again, but the warm service from Nick himself and his staff is what truly makes this place so special in the community for so long. I didn't get a chance to come here during those formative years before the fire but when the restaurant finally reopened last year, it was incredibly sad to hear Nick explain how the fire and rebuilding devastated him and the business for over 2 years.

Also, not sure if they use two different roasts for the drinks, but the strawberry tastes much more burnt than the other. The pistachio waffle was probably the best part, but even then, you cannot really mess up on a waffle that is smeared with pistachio butter. Not sure if it is house made though. I didn't like it, but my sister really likes this place, so it is definitely a matter of opinions. I would definitely recommend stopping by & trying it out yourself!

This is not Japanese ramen. It's Korean / Chinese style ramen. I expected a Japanese ramen place, so I was hugely disappointed. I've been to Japan several times for weeks at a time, and ramen (dipped and soup) were part of my daily staple. I've visited all the famous ramen places in Tokyo and compare every ramen against these four ramen restaurants: Ichiran, Ippudo, Fuungi, Rokurinsha. If Ichiran is a 10, then this place is a 2 or 3. Soup base: I had the Kara Miso, and the soup base is completely OFF. I'm confused by the flavor. It lacks depth, by that I mean protein umani depth. Is it chicken? Is it pork? It's completely masked by the miso and worst - the over abundant garlic and ginger. In one word, it was BAD. The red pepper wasn't even hot, it was garlicky. Why? It says alot when you leave the broth behind. I tried my best to finish the noodles, but could not stomach the soup. Noodles: The only redeeming quality in this entire bowl. It's a thicker wavier noodle than Ichiran and Ippudo, but not as dense as Rokurinsha. It's more like chow mien - which again is why I think it's more Korean/Chinese style. The noodles were surprisingly good though, dense, chewy and fights back. Vegetables: I have never had Japanese ramen with so much vegetables in it. Now, I love vegetables, all types, but not in my ramen. This one bowl had raw cabbage, raw bean sprouts, corn, bamboo shoots and scallions. Is the chef concerned that we are not eating our 5 a day? You know why this much veg puts me off? You can hardly appreciate the noodles, the texture, the bounce. You are crunch, crunch, crunching through raw cabbage and a party of vegetables. You know why Ichiran's basic bowl is just broth, meat slices and ramen? Because that's really what should be in ramen. You are there to appreciate the noodles, broth and meat. That's it. Meat: The slices of pork were thick cut, so it never really incorporates the broth and melts in your mouth. Not horrible, but not great either. Needless to say, I will not be going back for their ramen again. I will rather pay more and make the trip to Manhattan and go to an authentic Japanese place. A $14 (plus tax and tip is $18), is not a cheap bowl of ramen in Queens. If I wanted Chinese noodles, I'd go to Flushing and get something way better for $7 or $8. read more

We visited Tamashii Red Ramen for the first time, and it was a great experience overall! The ambience was warm and inviting, making it a comfortable spot to enjoy a meal. Service was excellent--we had a few questions, and the staff, especially the lady who assisted us, was patient and kind in answering everything. We started with the takoyaki, which was so good that we had to order another serving! The only small suggestion would be to add a little more sauce for extra flavor. My friends and I came here on a rainy Sunday morning and the restaurant was pretty packed. It was one of a few ramen spots in the area. The wooden interior and Japanese decors on the wall give a cozy vibe. We had House Salad, Takoyaki, and Tako Wasabi for share. You can hardly go wrong with Takoyaki. Tako Wasabi is literally raw octopus in wasabi sauce. I kinda enjoy it because I like raw seafood but it's a bit salty. I ordered Spicy Miso Ramen for myself and it's just meh, nothing special. Same with Tantanmen and Unagi don. Overall if you are looking for a lunch spot in the area it's not a bad choice but everything is just average. read more

If yelp allows me to leave zero star I would. This was the worst ramen I ever had. They use ramens from package, pork too thick and over cooked. The soup taste too nasty like from package. Only good thing was in my soup IS egg cut in half.... they do have nice atmosphere, and great servers but tsk the food itself forget it! I'm so stocked to have this place open up in forest hills! Possibly the finest ramen I've had in nyc hands down . I've travelled japan and it is as similar as what I've had there. The broth is so creamy and fatty with hand drawn ramen noodles with chewy and yummy texture . Like I said this place is off the hook , oh and the service is spot on. I usually don't like Japanese ramen but this one is a GAME CHANGER. Tamashii has the best broth! And all the foods have no MSG. I had the Kara Veggie ramen with Shio (mineral salt) broth. Have been here 4 times now, everything always delicious! Service is great as well. I usually get the aged tofu, potato croquettes and veggie hiyashi chuka, which is a cold noodle dish. Hubby gets the ramen, which is yummy as well! read more

This spot used to be a Chinese takeout so it is definitely on the casual side. We sat at one of the tables (5 two tops). We had grabbed some disposable chopsticks and napkins from the counter. When the server came with the tonkatsu and tempura, she had napkins and chopsticks for us so I guess we didn't have to help ourselves beforehand. She then came with a lovely teapot and two small cups for the tea. The tempura was different from most places - no crunchy panko crust and no dipping sauce. When she came back, I asked about a sauce and she pointed to a small dish with thick dark sauce. I had thought that was for the tonkatsu. The poke took even longer and that was also different from what I'm used to. The fish pieces were not marinated - she gave me a small dish with soy sauce. The sliced jalapeño was also a surprise. I had thought I would get a spicy marinade on the poke. I mixed in the soy sauce and ate it with the sliced jalapeños. When we came home and looked at the receipt, the prices were weird. The tea was $1.56 and the $22 dishes were $22.88. Apparently we were charged a 4% credit fee which wasn't disclosed - or we missed the sign.

The only highlight was the $4.95 honey oolong tea from Kung Fu Tea (part of the combo), which helped balance out the saltiness. Overall, I wouldn't come back. If I had to, I'd stick with what I ordered in 2025. Don't let the presentation fool you. The bowl looks good but quality is hit/miss.
