From the…read morefront desk staff, to the amazing hygienist, to the office itself, to of course Dr. VanCamp....I am impressed and grateful every time I go. I chose this practice because I saw they clean with ozone and don't use fluoride, both of which align with my perspective on health. But there are so many other unexpected benefits. I discovered they have a laser that treats cold sores. And not just treats...kills! Like, cures them. I've suffered from them my whole life and always understood that it would be that way forever. But they have this laser that, if you have an active cold sores, knocks it out and kills the virus for good in that spot, never to return again. I just got a giant one about a week and a half ago and went in to try it for the first time. The next day it was practically gone. I kid you not. If you've ever had these you know they last for weeks and it's a whole process of sadness, ugliness, and pain before they go away. Not this time. Because it was so big they invited me to come back the next day as well to zap it one more time. But by the third day, it was just a scab. Like a cut that was healing. 5 days later it was like it had never happened. Literally no sign of it. But the most amazing part is to think that it will never appear in that same place again. That after a lifetime of suffering through these there is an end in sight. I couldn't be more grateful. The laser was painless and quick. I was in and out both times in a half hour. Miraculous. Then yesterday I had a filling replaced. I'm a baby when it comes to dental pain and have had some trauma in the past and even the sound of the drill tends to trick me into feeling pain. Dr. VanCamp and Jose reassured me it would be quick and easy. And it was. In five minutes he had the filling out and in ten more had finished replacing it. Even the shot of local anesthesia was painless. I still couldn't even tell you if he worked on my top or bottom teeth. It was that painless. And afterwards I didn't have that droopy numb mouth sensation. Just absolute elite level perfect care. So far I've had two cleanings, a filling replaced, and the cold sore zapped. Each experience has convinced me more and more that I will never look for another dentist. And if you're looking for one, look no further. This is the one. 10/10.

I just saw Dr. Stumpel because I was worried about the fit of my night guard, and more…read morespecifically, some muscular pain in my cheeks when talking. Not only was he warm and welcoming but he gave me a detailed explanation about how the brain has to adjust to my wearing the night guard every day. Now, that explanation was so encouraging and motivated me to be patient getting used to wearing the night guard all the time. So glad Dr. Stumpel is such a superb dentist!

Outstanding!!!…read more Having had all of my upper teeth removed after a failed $9000+ implant bridge, and suffering through 6 months of a full upper removable denture - which worked ok (only if I didn't try to eat, LOL!), I was determined to get a full permanent upper (maxillary) implant arch. But being 82 years old and on a fixed income (SSI and Vet Benefits) and not wanting to throw away limited funds, I did a lot of research as to my options and visited different implant specialists. In my research, I learned that often dentists recommend implants with removable "snappers" to reduce the initial cost. But they require removal at night and the plastic that holds them in place may have to be replaces every 6 months, resulting in continuing cost. I decided that a permanent implant arch is what I wanted have done. For the strongest bond, I wanted to get the 6 implants ("All-in-6") for greater bite force distributed more evenly and with a higher implant survival rates. But I was also concerned about my bone density due to my age (which caused the previous implant bridge failure) and implants encroaching on my sinus cavities. That's when I learned about YOMI robotic surgery, a highly specialized medical device that requires an investment of over $150-$200K, used by an elite teir (1%) of U.S. dentists. The robot utilizes the patient's 3D scans to track oral anatomy in real time,to guide the exact angle, depth, and three-dimensional location of the implant.The robotic arm dynamically prevents deviations from the pre-planned surgical path and automatically stops drilling once the optimal, safe depth is reached, protecting critical nerves and sinuses, performing surgery with smaller incisions, less tissue cutting, and significantly faster patient recovery times. There are only a few dentists in Northern California that use the YOMI robot. Dr. Sassan Kafayi is one of them. He is a graduate of University of the Pacific Dental School, and I was impressed that he was appointed there as a part-time faculty teaching practical clinical skills and supervising dental students. I asked by personal dentist and friend for a second opinion on Dr Kafayi and my decision. When I told him that he used the YOMI robot, he said no question that I should go with him. He said he has heard so much about the YOMI but had never had the chance to view it in action, and if I wouldn't mind, would I ask Dr Kafayi if he could come to watch the procedure. Dr Kafayi said he would be honored to host and so we scheduled the procedure. The implant procedure went well and very painless, even without general anesthesia. Dr Kafayi and Serguey, his excellent assistant, worked as a high tech YOMI team, positioning and monitoring the YOMI robot arm. My dentist friend was in the room observing and asking questions, and was extremely impressed by the robot and the team. I am now enjoying my temporary upper arch teeth, waiting for the permanent implants in 3-6 months. I rate and recommend Dr Kafayi and his whole team as superior, an outstanding implant experience was provided by his whole office. He is personable and kind, and explains himself well. 10 stars, would not be too much to award this practice!

I had been prepped to expect ...nothing good: potential bone grafts. Dr. Gregory-Head has an exceptional combination of expertise, confidence, compassion, and humor. I am a seriously anxious patient, forgot to take an Ativan prior to my appointment, and didn't have a single anxiety spike or panic attack. She began by greeting me at the waiting room door, which was just lovely, and apologizing that circumstances brought me to her. In the exam room, my records were already up; she asked questions about my experience thus far; and every step of the way explained what she was doing, clarified why she was proceeding as she was, and ensured that I was okay--all with a confidence, calmness, compassion, and subtle humor that made me feel like I was getting the world's best treatment (which I may, indeed, have gotten). My experience was pain free, amazingly - after four months of prior work, I chalk this up to her precision and expertise. She and patients in the waiting room interacted like old, fast friends. Even the waiting room music was delightful: light, upbeat, kind of Triplets of Belleville belle-epoque cheery. The office suite 2318 is located on the 23rd floor, which required us to look it up before finding Dr. I's office. The bathrooms required keys due to issues with vagrant visitors. I specifically liked that there was a handicap accessible bathroom in addition to a male and female restroom. I enjoyed meeting another tradesman in my trade of programming while in the lobby. Overall, not only is Dr. I is among the nicest dentists I've ever met--the kindness carries over to his staff who helped hand me the key while assisting a elder patient needing to access the restroom. Another patient offered to return the key for us. It was a wonderful experience that I would wish upon anyone.

It was painful and crude, either from lack of recent experience, or ego. Dentists get a bad rap, and that experience didn't do this place justice. Ego has no place in healthcare, and I expected a lot more from this practice.
