Fantastic! Absolutely love my nails! I highly recommend Tami-A nails! I didn't have a chance to get vacation nails ready before the trip... and this salon has saved me all the trouble! I recommend calling in advance to see if they are available or need an appointment. I also recommend bringing cash because I believe there's an extra fee to use credit card... I heard it with other customers so I paid with cash. Trish did my beautiful nail work and I can't recommend her enough. She educated me on hard gel nail lifting up and fungus risks and she also gave me a very natural hard gel manicure with her creative design. Salon was busy and they were realistic on times they could accommodate callers or walk ins. A no frills nail salon! They give you the price of the nail job at the beginning - this helps avoid sticker shock and I really appreciated it. I needed my nails done while I was in Honolulu on vacation. They did not disappoint! I came same day and waited about 20 minutes. Gel pedicure was perfect and quick. Walked in around noon on a Sunday for a mani pedi and was seated right away. There's a $49 special for basic mani-pedi but I upgraded to Deluxe pedicure so total was $67 with tip-- pretty good deal! I'm writing this almost a month after visiting and I think you definitely get what you pay for - the quality of my nails weren't amazing since my gel started to lift in the corners after 2 weeks. To be honest I could have done with the regular pedicure, they barely did anything deluxe for the extra amount. When I pointed out that my feet still seemed kind of rough after the treatment, I was told to put some creme on at home. Having visited other places in HI, this is not one of the good ones. I wanted a regular pedicure but ended up getting the deluxe pedicure cause you can't beat these prices! My esthetician was Ana and she was so sweet and DETAIL ORIENTED! The cuticle care and the calluses were taken care of! As a nurse who has the most ridiculous feet from wearing wooden clogs, my feet were left feeling soft like a baby's butt. 5 star for how the owner/manager took care of me after my pedicurist peeled my skin off out of her frustration scraping dead skin on my foot when I couldn't stay still because it tickled. She didn't say sorry initially and put alcohol on the wound, which stung for a while. When she's done, she just walked away doing other's pedicure. I asked for a band-aid someone near and she said she will take of me and said sorry. Her and the male manager or owner(?) attended me for my wound put neosporin and a band-aid. They sincerely apologized for what my elderly pedicurist did to me and I thanked them. That pedicurist later then came when we had to pay trying to mend all smiling and helping me put my sandals on asking for CASH when we were ready with our credit card. I paid her cash $40 for $30 some dollars of the regular price for the service and the rest for the tip. I am writing this so that the owner/ manager who took care of me whoever they were know that my tip was really not for the elderly pedicurist who did my toe but for them. It was my impression that this was not her first time hurting customers. Hope the owner/ manager consider firing her because she can really hurt their business. This place is conveniently located in Waikiki (easily walkable from my hotel), however, while the prices are relatively affordable compared to other places in Waikiki, the quality and application of the polish do not meet my expectations. Pedicure: The regular Polish is either going bad or application is bad. The polish layers is noticeably visible as the top layer shrunk. I noticed this the next day. Manicure: I got gel manicure in the shade funny bunny from OPI. They put on so many layers that it looks so thick (I think I have 5 or 6 layers). The application wasn't great either because since it's a lighter color, more precision is needed otherwise the layers will be visible. The sides were also barely painted and I had a lot of visible nail unpainted. I let my technician know and they tried to fix it, but some nails still had uneven lines. I paid $65 for gel mani and regular pedi + tax and tips Note: it's Cash only. read more
