I was looking for a place that does simple alterations, for an affordable cost. Most places that I was looking into, wanted to charge $50-$60 just for a simple dress hem which I thought was ridiculous. I am so glad that Tammy's shop was referred to me by a friend! She was more than affordable, and only charged $36 to get our bridesmaid dresses hemmed. I think the price depends on the dress so If anyone is curious, It was a long, double layer chiffon dress from David's bridal. Not only was she affordable, but she was able to accomadte our last minute order. We dropped off 2 bridesmaid dresses a week before the wedding, and she made sure that both dresses were ready for pick before the wedding date. Thank you so much!! My gf and I both got dresses tailored here for an upcoming wedding. $40 for a complicated double hem and $40 for a simple hem and alteration taking in some fabric. We got the alterations back in 1 week. Tammy did a nice job on the alterations at a fair price. Her shop is a hole in the wall and a little crowded but there's a place to try on your items etc for her to take measurements for you. Overall she did a good job for a decent price. Tammy is amazing. I will never take my clothing to another tailor after seeing my bill and the end product!!! After I gave up on my old tailor, I had a hard time committing to take my nice jeans and slacks to "just anybody" for alterations. I had to have at least 2 inches taken in on every pair of jeans and pants I own... so you can imagine I was trying to find a good value but also great quality work on my hard-earned wardrobe. I called around a few places, finally calling an old tailor my mom used to use, Markesis, to find that Tammy had taken over the shop. She told me a great fixed price and invited me to come in and try my items on for a fitting. She showed me some other designer jeans she was working on that looked very good, identical stitching and you couldn't even tell they were hemmed, it looked like the original hem. I had brought 10 pairs with me that day and after seeing the one pair she was working on, I bit the bullet and decided to see how she would do with this load. She asked me how soon I wanted them (like I ever had a choice before with that big of an order!) and I said, how soon can you get them? It was Monday afternoon, she told me by Friday. Seriously!! And WOW. When I came to pick them up, I was just amazed. I tried on every single pair and studied them in the mirror from all angles. Perfect. PERFECT. All matching thread and identical stiching, belt loops reattached perfect... the only way I could even tell was looking at them inside out... and still it was hardly noticable. And I am VERY PICKY! I won't take any of my alterations anywhere else. All my pants need to hemmed and I love taking my jeans here because she makes it look like they were never hemmed in the first place. She has done blouses, including shoulders, which isn't easy and I've had her take in several pairs of jeans in the legs, creating a nice narrow leg, that still mirrors the original contours of the jeans. Several years ago my fiance lost a lot of weight, 60 lbs. or so and she took in all of his suits and you would never have known! He was flabbergasted, he thought he was going to have to spends many $100's for new suits, but we had these done at a fraction of the price. BOTH of the dresses looked exactly the same as when I dropped them off with minimal alterations done; not what her & I had discussed & looking NOTHING like how we had fitted it. My husband was going to this shop to hem shorts so I took my shirts, and a dress here for alterations. She was busy at the time and told me that she will call to let me know the estimated cost. I never got the call and wasn't able to get her on the phone. On the day that my history shorts were ready, I came along to talk to her about my clothes. She told me that she wasn't able to alter my dress, and asked me to wait while while she worked on my shirts. We waited about 20 minutes for the alterations to be done. And although she took the measurements, the alterations were too tight so she had to redo it while we waited. The altered shirts look unnatural and awkward but I paid her and left. I told her that she should have told me upfront that she cannot later women clothes. No apologies were given and she just got quiet instead. She is not a good seamstress except for hemming and adding patches to clothing. Do not bring your clothing here! read more

I went to Tammy's Tailor Shop for the first time this week, and am very satisfied with her work. I brought her one of my girlfriend's coats to have the lining replaced, since the lining was tearing in one spot, and was too thin to keep her warm; she looked over the lining, noticed the spot where it was coming apart, and informed me the spot could be sewn by me at home, and I would save a lot of money. Although I had Tammy replace the original lining with the lining I brought, her honesty--and quality of work--has ensured I will be a repeat customer for many years.
