I would drop off 10/more pairs of jeans to cut into nice sumer shorts,she would measure my leg and had like brand new short jeans in 5-6 days.The best a tailor could be. Put a few pounds on and ask her to loosen the waste a few inches to fit. Amazed how perfect they fit every time. I'm not sure what to make of this place because I didn't get a chance to drop my item off. I see a lot of 5 stars and then a fair number of 1 stars, so 2 stars it is. I moved to town late last year and I've been looking for a tailor to handle my occasional alteration needs and this place had great reviews. I brought a dress to have altered(it had an apron like piece of fabric over the main bodice and I want it removed) and she looked at it and first said "It's too much to work. Lots of work." Then she asked me why I didn't like it and I told her that I just didn't like it. I didn't think I would come here and have to explain my reasons for an alteration, but here we are. I am a patient and reasonable person(and like, I really am, not just saying that like some Karens who don't get their way), so I asked if there was anything that could be done. She said, "No, it's not possible. You'd have to finish the item". This was clearly not the place to come because it seemed like she didn't want my business and wasn't open to creative solutions. I left deflated, but here I am warning y'all that if you need alterations that are a bit more work or out of the ordinary, don't bother coming here. She seems to have neither the time nor the desire. This is The. Best. Tailor. Ever. Cuc (pronounced "Cook") is all you ever need for your tailoring. Holiday dinners got the pants a little tight? Why spend $400+ on gym membership that you'll use three times in a year? Take them to Nikki's and she'll let out a bit and no one's wiser. My girl's towering 5' 3" means those pants she ordered from Zara is going to be few inches too long for her liking. She trusts them to no one else. I take all of my new jeans to her to get that perfect fit because, let's face it, 32 x 32 isn't always 32 inches. Cuc, at Nikki's Tayloring is that kind of honest person. The gist of my experience is that I had some work pants that I'd torn on the front of the thigh & wanted it sewn/ repaired. They're for work(outside), not for a fashion shown. It doesn't matter to anyone if they're obviously stitched up. Cuc was more than willing to stitch them up, but said it would be better to to spend seven or eight dollars more and get a new pair of pants that will last me years longer vs. coming back in within a few months to have them stitched yet again. I came in to get a zipper on a motorcycle jacket fixed. The nice lady, whos name i forgot already, was very honest about the repair. She couldnt do it but knew someone who could. A family member in business. Great! As she is looking up his number i mention that its a $500 jacket and I hoped the new zipper would match well. She stopped and said she changed her mind and recommended I go to San Diego Leather, who i knew specialized in these things but is in National City. I can see exactly why Nikki's is 5 star rated. I took 2 pairs if suit pants to be altered as they were far to baggy. She was so nice and friendly!! Her prices were also super reasonable/inexpensive. She is quite busy (and for good reason!) so it may take a little extra time to get your clothes altered but that's not a bad thing especially considering how good her work was. Took my wedding dress to get alterations because she had the highest reviews. My dress was brand new from the bridal bouquet and when I picked it up from her it was stained all over the train and by the zipper. She tried blaming me saying it was my fault that I probably stepped on in or that the bridal shop gave it to me like that. Obviously not the cause since it was also stained on the top. She also tried covering it up by folding the dress so I wouldn't see it but it so obvious. I'm getting married in 4 days and she ruined my gown. Do not go here!! read more
