My sister loves this place and we went for her birthday. She loves the pad Thai! The fried dumplings were delicious. My mother had chicken teriyaki which was slightly dry. I came in to get my favorite entree. I sat in the new bar area and was greeted promptly. I got me a sailor Jerry and Coke The bartender was very polite and professional. My dinner came and it was very tasty. The portion of the food were quite generous. The bartender also checked back with me to make sure everything was good and I appreciate that gesture. We've been coming to Tana Thai for at least 13 and I can't believe I've never posted a review. It has grown and changed over the years but the food has always been high quality and tasty. If you think you want spicy they can deliver. I've gone with friends who think they like spicy and have regretted choosing level 4 or 5. A two is plenty for me, a three is too much. They've recently added a full service bar next door with its own menu of delicious looking choices. I only poked my head into the adjoining space but I'll definitely return. We typically start with the chicken satay with its accompanying peanut sauce. It comes with five pieces of chicken on wooden skewers that are cooked to juicy perfection. There are other choices but this one is my favorite. My go to dish is the pineapple fried rice with chicken. You can choose other proteins or tofu or no add-ons. The sweet taste of the fresh pineapple chunks makes the dish special for me. I order it with a level 1or sometimes level 2 of spicy. There is enough on the plate for two meals though I'm seldom able to stop myself from eating the whole portion. My husband is a fan and frequently orders the crab fried rice, as he did on this occasion. There is a generous portion of crab among the rice. He orders a level zero or level one on rare visits. The food was average. I had tom kha soup which was good. The egg roll was just okay. Nothing special. I had an order of dumplings and was disappointed. The staff was nice enough. The restaurant didn't look as dirty as they do in Thailand but certainly didn't look to be the cleanest in Wichita either. I will probably try other places before coming back here. read more

This place is a slight hit or miss - but I'll give you some pointers to help you out! The misses - their Thai beef salad and the larb. The larb I got had a bunch of brown herbs all over, so it was a little off-putting. Flavor wise, too. It could've had a little more punch and a little more lime. Thai beef salad is 80% spring onions and veges, and 20% beef, bit of a shame since it actually tasted not too bad! Pad kee mao here is also just alright. Now the hits - their fried rice. Just order any one. I'm serious. Any one at all. I've tried three different ones and they've got it absolutely spot on. The basil one is one of my favorites because it has mushrooms and Thai basil in it, which I love. But really, you can't go wrong with the fried rice here. They've 100% perfected it. Other honorable mention is their pad Thai, that was pretty good too. We keep getting it off of Uber eats so not quite sure about the service or the ambience, but I will 100% come back just for the fried rice! read more

Crab puffs/crab rangoon are one of my go-to items when they're available. I travel a lot so my expectations for Thai food in Oklahoma were low. I have literally eaten at this place since the day they opened, and it has always been my favorite place since then. Whenever we have a special occasion, this is where we go. Whenever people come from out of town, this is the first thing they want. The food here has always been 100% amazing, and is my absolute favorite. However, within the last year the quality has dropped significantly. The food was always prepared to 100% perfection, now it's 20%. I order the old fashion pad Tia, and it's was greasy had now flavor, and was just god awful. This was absolutely shocking to me. I don't know what has changed, but it not the same place it has been for over a decade. Unless they go back to how they were, I will not eat here again, and do not recommend to anyone. I'm going to preface this review with a bit of backstory - my cousins LOVE this place and it's their go-to restaurant whenever they're back home in OKC. I was skeptical when they called it "the best Thai food you'll ever taste," but I stand corrected. Tana Thai is something else. We arrived around 7 PM on a Saturday evening and asked for a table for 8. We were quickly seated in their private room and the servers were very accommodating of our request to rearrange the tables. At our cousins' suggestion, we decided on the Basil Fried Rice, Pad See Ew, Pad Kee Mao, Pad Thai, Panang Curry and Green Curry. My absolute favorite dish (and possibly the best Thai dish I've ever tasted) was the Pad See Ew. With a rich dark brown color, it was a pleasure not only to look at but also to eat. We got fairly high spice levels for most dishes (think level 3 of 3), but I found it perfect in keeping with the flavors of the dish. I really enjoyed the Basil Fried Rice (level 4! which my cousins tell me means they add freshly cut chilies), but trust me, level 4 is not for the faint of heart. If you can handle your spice, level 3 is better to get a full taste of the dish. The Pad Kee Mao and Pad Thai were similarly delicious, and I enjoyed the characteristic spice level of the former. Both the curries were also great, and I especially liked the Green Curry as a way to cool down from all the spice! I usually rate a Thai place high based on how much my nose runs after eating, so Tana definitely deserves its full five stars. With an affordable menu where pretty much any order will be delicious, I highly recommend it to anyone living in or visiting OKC. I'll definitely be back whenever I'm next in town, if not at my request then definitely at that of my cousins! read more

Tana Thai used to be one of my favorite places in town. When I worked close by my coworkers and I would come in for lunch often. That was many years ago. When a friend suggested we go there for dinner, I was elated! I walked in, and to my surprise the restaurant had been completely renovated. No more yellow tables or yellow booths, no little Thai woman there taking my order and ringing me out at the register. We never remembered each others names but all those years ago always recognized each other. I suppose that was part of the charm! Still, I was not deterred. Surely the food is the same! I ordered Tom Kha Kai with chicken, and a side of white rice. At first they brought me some thing that was not what I ordered. I was in conversations, so I didn't think to look at what was put in front of me. Once I realized I did not get what I ordered I flagged the waiter down and he took it back to the kitchen. When he came back and set the food in front of me, it was obviously what I had ordered, this soup is made with coconut milk. However, it smelled very very badly. I'm not sure what happened, my friend and I suspected that instead of making fresh Tom Kha Kai - they took the contents of the wrong soup and dumped it into coconut milk it smaller very badly, like feet. I paid for my meal but I didn't eat it. The waiter seemed oblivious to my untouched food. Some of the reviews said this place is now "hit or miss" and unfortunately it was a miss for me. read more

Dropped by Tana Thai bistro today for lunch and had a pleasant surprise. We started off with an order of Thai spring rolls that had a tasty dipping sauce. They came out pipeing hot & were delicious. The main course's were, Thai fried rice with chicken, Pad Thai with chicken, & Panang curry with chicken. Very tasty dishes. Service was friendly and quick. One of the surprising things was the low prices and high quality of the food. There were three of us and our complete meal with drinks was just over $30 bucks, great value. I am a regular when it comes to their crab fried rice! It is amazing and I love my spice level 6.

I had to up this restaurant to 5 stars because every time I eat here it's really, really good. In fact, at this time, this is the only Thai restaurant I can recommend. Today I got the Pad Kee Mao which is rice needles, spicy basil sauce (not too spicy), egg, red peppers, cabbage and your choice of meat. I had the shrimp and tofu and had them add green onions. I've had Thai all over the country and world and the taste and quality is always strangely consistent compared to other cuisines where there's a broader range of dining tiers and quality levels. That being said this might be the best Thai I've ever had. The Pad Thai and curries are great which is a given but their sides especially the spring rolls and gyoza are really good too. But above all the rest what's the best I've ever had hands down and it isn't even close is their Thai Tea.
