So incredibly disappointed after 10+ years as a faithful customer. Their General Chicken has always been top notch, with the perfect crunch and flavor! But yesterday, everything was different. The crunch was gone, and what batter there was had no flavor or crunchy texture. Half the chicken had no batter at all. The sauce was sour, and the spicy kick I loved was gone. The dark brown coloring with that lovely hint of caramel was replaced with a rusty reddish orange sauce. I ordered takeout, and I decided to eat a portion in my car before driving home. I tried, I really did. After a few bites, I closed the container and drove home, and immediately tossed it into the trash. I understand that many restaurants are trying to hang on in this economy. Maybe Lincoln Chinese tried some less expensive ingredients instead of raising prices. I'm here to say, I'd happily pay more for the version that has been my signature order for many years. I'm surprised I haven't reviewed this place. It is our favorite restaurant when visiting family up north. We believe this place has the very best Chinese food in California. The customer service here is always above and beyond. No matter if it's two people, four people or twelve. They are always checking on you to see if you need more or if they can take away empty dishes. Super attentive. I have been eating here since I was 12 years old. We had a belated Mother's Day dinner here for my sister and reserved a large table for 12. When we showed up they already had complimentary waters served for us. They are so kind and patient with the toddlers and babies in our family. The portions are always generous here and I have never been disappointed with the quality. Our regular platters to order are the Kung Pao Chicken, Chicken Chow Mein, Chicken Fried Rice, Orange Chicken and Honey Walnut Prawns. This time my brother ordered Pot Stickers and I really enjoyed those a lot!! If you are ever close to Lincoln, CA and want to try delicious Chinese Cuisine I promise you this is the place. For a mid-tier Chinese place, this spot is solid! Food came out in about ten minutes! The place was inundated by take-out phone calls, so it must be a popular spot for pick-up orders. The veggies are perfectly steamed with a nice crunch! Would order the chicken and broccoli again. A little spendy for the overall quality. The service here is second to none! I love the warm welcoming servers, makes me want to come back from the get-go! The food is really good with some items being better than others. We ordered several dishes for four people. The server suggested we order from the dinner list which included ap and soup and also order a la carte which I noticed gave us larger dishes of food. Order like this gave us plenty of food with leftovers to take home. I really liked the seafood soup but my partner did not like the cornstarch consistency of the soup. The seafood tasted fresh and it came very hot! The fried shrimp ap was terrible and over-fried (maybe fried twice?) and breaded which is not my preference. The egg rolls were good. The chow mein is excellent. Wok fried perfection! Only two shrimp in the house chow mein though. The fried rice has actual peas and carrots in it! This seems to be rare at Chinese restaurants anymore so this is always nice to see. Bits of egg and good BBQ pork in there as well! My favorite was the Dragon and Phoenix dish. It is half shrimp with snow peas and the other half is General chicken! Both sides of the dish came freshly cooked but the general chicken was cold... I think it was a timing thing from the cook since we ordered quite a few dishes. We ordered salt and pepper pork which was not on the menu. It was a hefty $17.95 which I thought was not worth it. It was virtually a plate of fried pork chunks (like in sweet and sour) with a little bit of onion and pepper bits. It tasted ok but could have been better. The shrimp with vegetables dish was decent if you like this dish. The food was good and the great service made it excellent! I can't wait to go back! read more

We were seated right away, and the staff was friendly and attentive--keeping our drinks full and bringing the food out quickly. Cute little place in downtown Lincoln. Very clean and excellent service. This is honestly some of the best Chinese food I've ever had. The orange chicken was phenomenal... perfectly crispy and the sauce was the right amount of sweet, tangy and a little spice. The beef in the broccoli beef was super tender! The first time we have been here! The service was amazing! The wait time was zero! We ordered the family style dinner Chicken chow mein, cashew shrimp, mushroom chicken, Mongolian beef, egg rolls , egg flower soup , and a corona! Oh can't forget the fried rice, which was very generous portion! Every dish had their favorite little flair, the vegetable were enjoyed by all! My only suggestion was more spice! Our first time trying this local Chinese restaurant and we will definitely be back. The restaurant is nice inside and spacious they have two rooms to seat you in at tables and booths. The staff was very friendly and quick to serve us. They brought water and our appetizers out very quickly. We ordered from the family dinner side. We ordered a bowl of Wonton soup, the soup was so good and had plenty of Wontons and shrimp, chicken and pork. We ordered the pork fried rice, and sweet and sour chicken and generals chicken. The food was good, hot and fresh made. The generals chicken did have a hint of what seemed like a smoky flavor, I'm not sure if that is how it is always, it wasn't bad but not what I was expecting, kind of reminded me of bbq flavor. This place is pretty good. We've been here twice and both times it was pretty good. My mandarin chicken this most recent time was a little bit overcooked, so it was tough to eat. But the flavor was good. My husband liked his pepper beef. You can't be the prices here. 4 lunches on a Saturday was $41. Such a steal. Service was quick the ladies in the restaurant were friendly. We selected Chicken Chow Mein, Cashew Shrimp, Mushroom Chicken, and Mongolian Beef (fried rice is also included). We started the meal with a nice cup of egg noodle soup. It was well prepared. We then had fried shrimp and egg roll appetizers. They were a nice start to the meal. All of the main courses were healthy portions and well prepared. The staff got the dishes out quickly which was appreciated. The cashew shrimp and mushroom chicken were my favorite dishes. You can't beat those big chunky mushrooms. I can eat them all day long. You know, I really want to like this place. The locals give it such great reviews, but the several times I've been here, it's been hit and miss. Orange chicken, sweet and sour chicken, shrimp fried rice have been good. Today I ordered shrimp chow fun - yikes. It came doused in oil. I tipped the plate to let the oil drain down to one side, and tried to blot it up thinking that might save it. But it didn't. When I asked for the dish to be redone with much less oil, I was told they had to add oil to the noodles so they don't stick. I get that. But you could use a few tablespoons versus half a cup and still get the same result. They weren't even willing to re-do the dish. They just took it away and while they didn't charge me for it, it would have been nice to get the dish redone. Disappointed. It didn't taste good - the oil overpowered everything - and they refused to accommodate even a reasonable request for their customer. There are options in the area for similar types of food, so I'll be patronizing those establishments. I won't be back here and I'm sure they couldn't care less. read more
