Several of the aisles were bare and we noticed that they raised the price of some of their goods. The new pricing may be to help them pay for the cost of the remodel - but, why remodel only to raise the prices and make it difficult for customers to navigate the aisles? Even the staff have trouble pointing out where the things are when asked. This is especially hard to grasp when our economy is at its worse times for the past several years. We're going to have to tighten our belts even more... and find a new grocery store to shop at. Sad!

Unfortunately, the quality was far below expectations. The coffee had a noticeably salty, unpleasant taste, and the matcha was extremely bitter with no trace of vanilla at all. We order this same drink regularly at other cafés, so we know what it should taste like--this was not it at all. It was also far too strong for a child, despite specifically asking for it to be kid-friendly. When I politely brought this up, I was surprised by how it was handled. I simply asked to add a little vanilla for it to taste better. Instead of offering to remake the drink or find a solution, I was told I would need to purchase a new one. I rarely ever ask for drinks to be redone, but this one was genuinely undrinkable. What made the situation worse was the attitude of the staff. The response felt dismissive and unprofessional, particularly from an employee named DJ. The interaction left us feeling unwelcome and unheard. Overall, poor quality drinks and disappointing customer service. We won't be returning.

All of the staff went above and beyond to be super friendly and inviting. It felt like my husband and I were regulars the way the wait staff treated us. You could tell they treat every customer as if they're the only person in the winery, despite it being full. Every question we had was met with patience as they guided us on the best food and wine pairing. They also are super accommodating to pets, and were able to enjoy a nice meal with our pup. The food was all fresh and delicious. Everything tasted like it was made from the heart. My husband got the angel hair pasta with chicken, a favorite of his, and it did not disappoint! I got the brown butter sage gnocchi, made with fresh sage from their garden. We also enjoyed the meze board. My husband who does not like falafel was fighting with me for the last piece. For dessert I ate the rosemary shortbread with lemon curd. Just like with the sage the rosemary was also freshly picked from their garden. The shortbread was not too dry but also the perfect ratio of crispy on the outside and slightly moist on the inside - the exact way shortbread should be baked. I normally am picky with lemon desserts, but their lemon curd was also perfect - not too sweet and not too sour while still maintaining that fresh flavor. My biggest regret of our visit is not booking a room at their inn. We spent a couple of hours here and immediately felt right at home. I hope to come back one day for the full inn experience.

I've been craving Hamachi for weeks, then I saw a post on face book that Matsumoto Samurai's Kitchen in Oakhurst is offering Hamachi Plate today. It's a rare opportunity and I immediately called in to reserve my order. Chef's hamachi today was excellent. The light pink colour has a natural sheen, and the texture is firm yet buttery. His preparation was perfect, allowing the fish to show off its rich and slightly sweet flavour. There is hardly any fishy aroma. I could eat this on its own but my order came with rice and Japanese omelette. The Japanese omelette was tender and slightly custardy in texture, well-seasoned, and has a sweet note. Green salad and ponzu sauce were also included in my order of Hamachi Plate. I devoured every morsel of it. That's how delicious everything was. I know that chefs Yuji and Veronique take great pride in their cooking because it shows in the food they prepare and serve. Thank you, chefs, for continuing to offer the local community and tourists your wonderful cuisine.
