I had a weird and upsetting experience at one of their stores. Let me preface this by saying that I love their gelato. It is delicious and high-quality. I love it so much that I wanted to give a friend of mine a $50 gift card for his birthday. I called ahead of time to see if they had physical gift cards and I was told they did. I drove in 90° heat all the way to the Topanga store, picked up a cute gift card from the rack, waited for all of the other people to be served, and asked for $50 on the card. I was then told that they no longer do physical gift cards. Why they have two racks of gift cards on the counter in front of the registers is a mystery. I try not to compare places but this place is basically Tifa but just on the other side of the valley. Both are great. Excellent Gelato with an array of options that are just so rich in flavor. Cookies that are so big they make your eyes hungry. Just very clean upscale aesthetics and in a plaza that allows you to walk around with it while shopping. I definitely will come back. They also opened up a new location in Calabasas that replaced Jenni's, next to Barnes and Noble. Need to check that place out too! Forget summer body and just get ice cream! read more

I stopped by this ice cream place last night while my wife and I was in Topanga Village. We walked past this place before so I knew the next time we're here, I was going to try it. When we came, the staff are wonderful. They greeted us and recommended that we try some samples. I tried the walnut chocolate flavor first and then the 3 chocolate flavor. I decided to go with the 3 chocolate in a small cup. They give you a big scoop inside the small cup so that's great.The price is on the higher end of things so just be aware. Finally made it in during their operating hours- I've always been too early and in a rush. I tried their pistachio, vanilla caramel and Belgian chocolate. They were ALL delicious but their Belgian chocolate was absolutely DIVINE. I ended up getting a pint to go. Customer service is excellent- everyone is really friendly and helpful. This flavor is surprisingly subtle and satisfying, particularly with the little crunchies in it. Pro tip: if you like multiple flavors, you can get your favorite two flavors in a single cup and just ask them for half and half. Opted for the cookies and cream gelato for myself and picked up some strawberry cheesecake for my coworkers. Extremely balanced in flavor for cookies and cream, nice chunks of cookies layered through every bite, cream was not overly sweet. 9/10 for the cookies and cream. My coworkers really enjoyed the strawberry cheesecake and highlighted the chunks of fresh strawberries, graham crackers and were happy it wasn't over saturated with strawberry syrup. Rated it 8/10. Bright and cute little place for gelato! My first time coming in and I had quite a great experience. November 2025 Probably one of the top three gelato places in the surrounding area. Honestly I would even venture to say if I had to get quality gelato, this would probably be my number one choice as of November 2025. Don't quote me, but I think the night that I went in, it was a mother & son combination working the counter. They were totes adorbs. I'll say this much, for a small size and regular size, walking out the door for $17, the prices are on point. It's definitely a splurge, an indulgence. About twice the price of Frozen yogurt. Yet... I could justify the price to what you're getting by explaining that it's truly the experience here. You're definitely getting a much richer, flavorful, complex abundance of things going on more than you would get with Frozen yogurt. We tried several different flavors, and some highlights are any of the hazelnut, the pistachio, the peanut butter and the chocolate chip were all very unique and complex. I could taste how fresh and real the ingredients are. I believe the way that they make the gelato is also done in a special way that does not incorporate a lot of air into the products. It's very dense, smooth and rich. Wonderful and tasty with a good mouth feel. I will definitely be back again. Especially if that adorable team is working behind the counter again. Lol. It's not something I would do three times a week or anything, but once in a while, maybe a few times a month, it's definitely a Splurge worth splurging on. If you're still reading this, and you're curious, I would say the prices here at Bacio are a little bit better than Anita La Mama on Ventura Boulevard by reseda. The parking here at Bacio is also much more convenient than their competition on Ventura boulevard. Fun fact that the gal behind the counter explained to me, this chain of gelato stores is very popular in Brazil... hundreds of locations down there. I guess they decided to Branch out and move their good quality products to the United States. To the management, to the owners that are reading this review, please don't change a thing. The flavor, the taste, the portion sizes, everything I believe is spot-on. Maybe a dollar less on each side would be the icing on the cake for me. A nice little treat under $10. The place just opened and both service and interior are great. There is some flavors to choose from - I got hazelnut and strawberry cake. They dont use scoops instead they just scoop a certain amount on spatula and put it on the cup and kinda like eye measure whatever amount they have in mind. The cup gets messy and you need to wipe it with a napkin right away. Also, the thing melts in SECONDS in a not hot weather so make sure you eat it quick . The small wooden spoon that they give you doesnt feel right in your mouth - I would have preferred a plastic one. The taste is similar to a regular ice with known health benefits.
