Been here a few times, and I'm not a coffee drinker but I can attest to their matcha. Honestly, the first time I had their matcha, I was not a fan. I got the matcha chai, and I think it was the chai's fault, but it definitely tasted watered down and not how I like my matcha at all. I prefer it creamier. I learned from my mistakes and got the matcha with cold foam this time, and that was much better. Strong matcha flavor, and that classic deep green color. Would definitely get that again. The service itself is decent. I have ran into baristas sometimes that are more so apathetic, but I mean I guess how enthusiastic can you be about making coffee. Chit chat is underneath an apartment complex so there's residential parking plus some spots open for visitor on the round about. Aside from that, there are some street parking across! Walking it, you'll see that it's a pretty big sized cafe. They sell merch hanging like tshirts, tote bags, & hats! Baristas were nice upon entrance by greeting you with a warm welcome. I ordered an iced banana matcha and chocolate croissant. 5/5 recommend, would order again. However, I do wish the croissant had more chocolate! Halfway through I thought they mistakenly gave me a plain croissant. There's plenty of seating around, WiFi is provided, & there's a water station. Parking is in a shared lot -- if you're lucky, you can find a spot without too much trouble. It does get very crowded during the lunch hour, and you can tell they could benefit from having a few more staff members during peak times. The coffee is good and strong, though it can be a bit hit or miss depending on the day. Same with the matcha, nice and earthy today - other times too sweet. One thing to note: they don't accept cash, so come prepared. They have a few things to browse through (merch/coffee) while you wait for your order. There were a few tables for guests that seemed good for small groups. Service is quick. They have espresso drinks and a lot of specialty matcha drink options to choose from. There's also pastries available. I opted for a regular matcha latte, whole milk, unsweetened, iced. It was a good matcha, not too milky, not too bitter, nice color. Was it the best matcha I've had? No. Was the place pretty vibey enough to make up for it? Sure was. Chitchat used to be my top favorite matcha spot in the valley. This however has changed:/ You could probably go back maybe a year ago and I left a good review talking about how good this place was. Lately I noticed that my drinks have been extremely watered down and the guy who works there, mostly evenings seems like he doesn't want to be there. He has his camera and computer set up by the end of the bar which looks extremely bad and he always throws and slams everything. Also even has an AirPod in one of his ears. The matcha flavor was solid, though I personally love a stronger matcha taste -- still very well done. My Husband ordered the homemade cereal coffee, and he really enjoyed it. Their matcha chia latte w/cold foam is a solid 9/10. It's a unique but simple combo, in which all the flavors are quite balanced. The matcha's earthiness still peaks through the chai spices. The overall drink is subtly sweet, which I think is perfect to allow all the complex flavors to shine through properly. The cold foam is plain vanilla. I might try it next time without... Almost got lost but found my way. It's located in a residential/commercial space, so can be a bit confusing unless you are coming from the main street. There are a couple parking spots available marked "retail" The space is quite large and they even have free WiFi. They also have some cute CHIT CHAT merch like shirts, sweatshirts, hats, tote bags, mugs, etc. You can even buy some matcha to go, coffee bags, hot sauce, olive oil, books, and items from the fridge. Anyway onto the main menu, I got here late afternoon so a lot of the pastries were already gone. The drinks all look tasty and I went with the SEA SALT MOCHA $7 - espresso, organic house made cocoa, brown sugar, sea salt, and milk. I ordered it hot and it was like an elevated hot chocolate for adults. Gotta love the touch of sea salt to cut down on the sweetness. It was very very good! read more

The inside is modern with touches of green throughout. Seating is inside, it does get a little loud when ppl don't know what inside voices mean, but otherwise it's a chill little vibe. Been wanting to try this spot since a bunch of my fellow Yelpies were raving about it - I see you, Shawna ;) Decided to drop by this morning on the way to work which was around 8:15 am. I've heard parking was a little hard to find or confusing so we prepared ourselves! My bf drove this morning and we didn't see any available parking, even on the small street across, so he waited in the car while I hopped out to get my drink quickly. I ran over to the door facing towards the street, it was locked. I looked inside and saw people but I guess they only keep the other side unlocked so I walked around towards the inside/apartment facing entrance. First thing you notice is the beautiful lighting and interior design. It felt super fancy in there! I was also greeted by the sweetest girl, didn't catch her name. Ordered an iced banana bread latte and took a look at their pastries and went for the chocolate chip cookie. She mentioned I got the last one! I was shocked since they open at 7am and it was only shortly after 8am when we arrived. Not sure how many they make for the day but maybe they make more later? Idk! Glad I got it though because it was super good, especially warmed up! I sat down and waited for my drink which came out almost immediately. Took my pics and tried it, so delicious. It had the strong espresso I always look for and it had a really nice cinnamon flavor. The banana flavor was super subtle and I think it could've used more of it but overall a solid latte. Looooooooove Chitchat. What a hidden gem! Firstly, the shop itself is stunning. Kudos to whoever designed it. I love how spacious it is and how there is plenty of seating. Lots of outlets too! On a Sunday morning, pastry selection was completely wiped out. I would have loved to see what their offerings were! I am both a coffee and matcha fan, so marrying both of them is right up my alley. I actually ordered the Dirty Chai Matcha and wow. Literally all of my favorite drinks in one cup. It was pretty milk heavy, but the flavor was spot on. I am super excited to come back! Found this place on yelp while looking for a cafe to study at and it really is a beautiful cafe, super spacious inside. One barista which was kind of rough especially when a big line showed up but i got an iced matcha with the almond yuzu croissant.. the matcha was good.. nice and vibrant green with a good earthy taste. I got my croissant warmed and that felt like it dried it out a bit.. still good but I've had better. I stayed here for about an hour and some change.. free WiFi and an outlet near me made it convenient but it can get loud.. which is no problem with noise canceling headphones. The restroom was oddly very gross.. smelled bad and it was dirty so im not sure if they don't have a cleaning crew or the employees just don't clean it but it was so weird being in a new building complex. read more

Whee so happy I got to satisfy a craving for matcha this afternoon. I thought of this spot because I had recently tried coming here last week with my bf, but due to the horrible parking situation (2pm on a Thursday) where we couldn't find parking close by, we had to leave to go elsewhere. She was quick and started on it right away, calling out the order on the counter. The interior of this place is gorgeous but I definitely think this location is most convenient for the tenants and residents that live nearby here due to the parking situation. What a nice, soothing vibe. Finally came to check this coffee shop out and got the Banana Bread latte as I saw it's one of their most popular ones. It was good and priced well but I could've used more banana bread flavor but just added a stevia and it did the job lol. Chit Chat was on my radar for a while now, but their Sawtelle location opens later than when I'm in the area in the mornings. So when I saw that they had a SFV location, I knew that I wanted to pull up and try it. It's a nice and ample, very clean location. There was no parking in the lot but I did squeeze into a spot across the street on a Saturday afternoon. Very friendly young lady who was running the show, literally because of her speed and because she was the only person there so she'd charge and quickly made the drinks. I was impressed with her agility. As far as the drink was concerned well, I drank it but I wasn't impressed. The banana bread latter was the reason why I went but it didn't taste like banana at all. It was a sweetened cinnamon latte with espresso that felt like it was wasn't properly extracted. Maybe that explains with swift movement of the barista or the espresso just got lost and muddled with all of the other ingredients. Again it wasn't a terrible drink but also wasn't worthy of wanting to come back again. But if I did go back it would be to try something else on the menu. read more

It's been super hard to eat, I've been just nauseous and exhausted due to the loss of my recently passed childhood kitty. My boyfriend thought a little treat like this would be perfect -- AND it was. I had two of Banana Bread Matcha's in one visit because it was actually soooo good and was the only thing that I could really stomach. It's not too sweet but not bland. I mean, if I got two that really means something LOL I also had their seasonal blueberry danish, I love danishes and again -- not too sweet but not bland! It was so nice and quiet, roomy, tons of space, comfy seating. The lighting was perfect for my sensitive eyes lol. I felt so relaxed, taking a break from grieving. The service was really remarkable.
