This place is tricky to locate, it's all the way at the back of the plaza with no visible signage. We had to ask the valet parking attendant just to figure out where it was. Once inside, though, the cabin-like vibe was really nice and cozy. We came for the coffee. I ordered the iced caramelized banana matcha latte and it was really good, unique flavor, well-balanced, would definitely get it again. Unfortunately, my husband's mocha latte missed the mark. It didn't taste like mocha at all, more like watered-down peanut butter. Big disappointment for a coffee-focused stop. Worth a try if you're patient with the hunt and stick to their specialty drinks. Great service! This place is tucked in the corner of the shopping plaza behind a bike repair spot. Its too cute! The parking space is rather small and shared. Be aware you may have to park off site and walk a bit. The restrooms are shared and outside the place. No key is needed. I sat outside on the patio and it was rather enjoyable. Although in very hot days be mindful that there may not be AC. They have outlets and strong internet which was perfect for work. The matcha was delicious. Actually it tasted super clean. I used to love coming here for the views and the chill atmosphere, but I'm disappointed to see how much this place has changed. The 'laptop policy' seems to only apply to certain people. As soon as I opened my laptop outside, I (female latina) was told I couldn't sit there and had to move to the bar--even though several other people (mostly white men) remained at their tables WITH laptops for the entire two hours I was there. Even after moving to the bar and spending $35 on a half-sandwich, I was pressured to pay the moment I asked for a to-go box for my leftovers to make room to work. The beautiful views aren't enough to make up for the blatant profiling and overpriced menu. read more

I was driving along the 101 early in the morning and was looking for a specialty coffee shop that was open. This place came up since I was a few minutes away but I had trouble finding it as it was tucked away in the back of a shopping plaza with little or no signage to help me locate it. The coffee counter itself is right at the front when you enter the restaurant. The place has dark wood decor to give off this cabin-like feel. While the ambiance felt welcoming, the staff did not. I guess it was a good thing to just grab and go to limit any interaction with staff that seemed to preoccupied to make eye contact or acknowledge your presence. Plus, the only seating appeared to be in the restaurant area and it did not appear to welcome coffee drinkers in the early morning hours when the restaurant was clearly not open. And my latte? It was not very hot and tasted average at best. I will skip this place next time I am in the area for coffee. read more

I LOVE an earl grey and love a latte so I figured this was an intriguing combination to try. I thought it was only okay, sadly. It was really subtle in flavor and just overall sort of a lackluster drink. The espresso flavor nor the earl grey flavor really shone through. Such a cute aesthetic and really feels like a well-thought-out concept. The ambiance is cozy, modern, and definitely a place you'd want to sit and work or catch up with someone. When I walked in, there wasn't a host stand, so I assumed ordering at the café counter first was the process, which was totally fine. I ordered the banana matcha and the 10 Speed breakfast sandwich. The food itself was actually really good, and the wait time was reasonable. The only downside was the matcha--it tasted mostly like milk and lacked much matcha flavor. What unfortunately changed the experience for me was the service. From the moment I ordered, the interaction felt cold. I stood at the cashier waiting, and no one acknowledged me until I finally started speaking and placing my order myself. Awful customer service. After I sat down, I noticed a server consistently checking on every table around me--asking how people were doing, offering refills, engaging with guests, clearing plates, etc. My table, however, was completely ignored the entire time aside from when my food was dropped off. Even after I finished eating, my empty plate and drink sat there for about 45 minutes while I worked on my computer. No one checked in, cleared the table, or acknowledged me once. What made it even more disappointing was the fact that payment and tip are done upfront. I had already tipped 20% before even receiving service, so naturally I expected at least a basic level of attentiveness. Instead, it ended up being the complete opposite experience. The avocado was a nice cut & the potatoes were crisp, so the burrito was actually pretty good but a bummer that they discriminate against being "healthy" :) . Im a fan of the quiet outside space for sure. I was led here by the Instagram ads that painted the aesthetic of this place to be pleasant but im sad to say that the employee's demeanor (behind the counter specifically) was very unpleasant. I'll gladly report that the coffee was made quickly, but the taste was borderline undrinkable. Im not sure if I came at a bad day or the beans weren't the best, but I cannot stress enough that the espresso was soapy and tasted like stale drip coffee. Im a fella that doesnt drink coffee with sweetener, but today it was necessary to ask for it to cut the acid and it was still difficult to get down. All that to say, ill definitely come back to enjoy the environment and to get some work done, but I'd be lying if I said i'd recommend the coffee to anyone. When arriving to 10 Speed Coffee, the parking was great, plenty of spaces to park! The vibes of the coffee shop were awesome! The decor was amazing, if you love bikes then this is a great place to grab a bite and a coffee to relax! The seating was also plentiful! The staff is also making drinks for the restaurant so a good attitude goes a long way. Now the chai latte review... ordered a chai with oat milk ...it was hot . Sprinkle of cinnamon on top was a nice touch. That's about it for flavor, though . No spice, I mean it was like drinking hot oat milk with cinnamon, nothing more. 10 Speed Coffee is officially one of my must stops when visiting the San Fernando Valley. Walking into this café feels special as the ambiance is unlike any coffee shop that I've been to before, offering a bike shop, bar, and cafe hybrid interior surrounded by beautiful green in a comforting open space. The ambiance here is unmatched. If they had one of these in San Diego, I'd surely become a daily regular to get work done or study. There is plenty of room, and the space is simply beautiful - it makes getting work done that much more rewarding. The drinks are tasty - especially the maple lattes (both iced and hot are delicious). The baristas steam the milk to perfection and pour excellent shots. The drinks taste artisan and hand crafted by baristas who care about the product they make. They do not offer too many flavors or drink options, but sometimes less is more. The pasties are also good. I will be honest and say they did not blow me away and that getting a pastry isn't a must get when I visit this spot - but a sweet treat is always fun to get. The entire experience from start to finish feels special. The prices are steep, even being a bit expensive for me (coffee is a huge part of my budget). However, I am willing to pay for the experience offered. I can understand if this deters people from becoming regulars. Also, the line can get long, and the set up for the line can make the bar area feel too congested. Parking is fine, though the roads leading to the café can be confusing (I'm a San Diego driver, so forgive me lmao). But again, the trouble of getting here is well worth the wait. Kiley was incredibly kind and made me a delicious latte on my first visit. I wish that I remembered the name of the barista who helped me on my last visit, but it's apparent that service is a huge plus. 4.7/5 rounded up to a 5. environment was cute but their coffee was so below average :( I was really excited because of the good reviews and ads, but the coffee itself was sour and watery. The costumer service was ok, like they remade my drink when I told them I didn't like it but the barista kinda had a bit of attitude about it. Not a big deal, I'm sure they get a lot of annoying costumers but worth noting. I'd come in again to try their matcha because it looked really good and the patio is so relaxing. I just wish the overpriced coffee didn't grind my gears so much. Pretty subpar experience overall though. Interesting coffee shop + bar + bike shop combination in a ranch-style building just south of the highway. Parking is plentiful in a large lot, and a valet comes out to help organize as it becomes full. Street parking is available around as well. Atmosphere 3.5 out of 5: The coffee shop portion is when you first enter, with a bunch of booth tables and high chair/tables. There's even a loft area up a ladder. We arrived relatively early, and there were already a couple of people starting their day there. We enjoyed the quiet morning atmosphere as the sun rose - though there was an absence of electric outlets (or maybe we just couldn't find them). I liked how the sit-down area was distinct from the ordering area, so you were able to work at a distance from people ordering near the front. Service 4.5 out of 5: You order at the counter at the front, and the ladies working made our orders super quick. There isn't a water station, but they were happy to fill a cup up for us. Tables are self-bussed. Food 4 out of 5: Good coffee and tea overall - nothing incredibly special but definitely above average. The pastry I ordered was also good. The coffee and pastries are A1 and to die for! Coffee is of superb quality and taste. I'm quite the coffee snob being a former barista myself and cafe definitely takes pride in picking their beans. Atmosphere is beautiful inside the restaurant seating and coffee bar area. Only issue I had with this place is most of all the seating is for the restaurant -___- Calabasas can be very chilly in the early morning being that it's near the beach and mountain range area of the SFV. Let me preface this review by saying I love 10 speed and visit weekly. However, my recent experience there has left a sour taste in my mouth and does not make me want to return soon. After standing in line for about 20 minutes, I ordered 4 drinks and some food items for our group. I then returned to ask for a cup of water to fill my daughter's milk bottle (she's 6 months old) and was RUDELY told to go get water from the fountain outside. After witnessing a child and dog drink from that fountain, it wasn't an option for me and I stated I had just bought 4 drinks from the establishment and the water is for my baby. He then told me to stand in line again and buy a water bottle. Absolutely ridiculous. I've frequented many coffee shops and have NEVER been told no for a water cup, let alone when I tell an establishment it is for a baby. Very disappointed. read more
