Spicy but has very good flavor

The place was well lit, spacious and clean. I would want to give it a 3.5 stars but comparing to the area, im giving it a 4. Pro: - For the area, this is pretty authentic but if comparing to So. Cal, it definitely may not be able to compete. - Flavors are still very good and hits the spot especially when we haven't gotten to eat any asian food almost the whole week traveling to places where asian food is scarce. Cons: - Service is definitely minimal. 1 girl especially seems always pissy and when we try to wave anyone down, its literally "ok ill be back or wait a min". I mean they were busy but doesn't seem quite organized. - Portion is not the greatest especially the only non spicy item we ordered that i was able to eat from our party. Yet there was only a few pieces of meat in the stew. I had to end up getting fast food afterwards. - Not known for dumplings but its what my kid likes to eat. He didn't complain and still liked it but in general, they're known for other dishes. NOTE: The one chili sign doesn't mean mild. If you see that, it's super spicy... period. For at least most of those items with the symbol. So unless you love and can handle spice, we have been given the heads up.

Came to try Tang Taste for lunch after some recommendations. We all ordered the lunch special which comes with a choice of a soup, vegetable egg roll and crab cream cheese wonton, entree and steamed rice or fried rice. I ordered the Kung pao shrimp with hot and sour soup and steamed rice. The hot and sour soup is very traditional - has a good kick. The vegetable egg roll was pretty good - nice and crispy. The crab cream cheese wonton isn't my favorite, but it's just not my taste. The Kung pao shrimp was a bit sweet for my taste but the shrimp was great quality and delicious. It's also not as spicy as I thought it would be. They have a ton of traditional dishes that I can't wait to try next!!

What a charming little Chinese restaurant with an attached market, Li's Asian Market! The girls said they were here for lunch earlier this week and loved it so we came back for dinner. Authentic menu items and such a friendly, helpful staff. We ordered: - Milk Tea 3-Brothers (Contains signature MilkTea with Grass Jelly, Pudding and Tapioca) 奶茶三兄弟 - Coffee Boba Tea 鸳鸯奶茶 - Dinner Special x3 (Comes with Soup, Appetizers, Entree & Rice) - Sweet & Sour Chicken, Egg Drop Soup,1 Egg Roll & 2Crab Cheese Wontons - Chicken Lo Mein, Egg Drop Soup, 1 Egg Roll & 2Crab Cheese Wontons - Kung Pao Chicken, Pork Wonton Soup, 1 Egg Roll & 2Crab Cheese Wontons. Nice large dinner! All of our food came out steaming hot and delicious. After finishing our dinner, we went back out to reception and into the Asian Market attached and had fun window shopping all the food and treats. Men's and women's restroom located inside for customers.

tldr popular local chinese spot serving up americanized classics but also authentic chinese flavors in a elegant setting tang taste does it all - americanized chinese and authentic chinese flavors. it's connect to the market next store. we opted for more authentic chinese flavors and got the braised beef noodle soup which was pretty large. the flavor of the broth hit the spot especially when complemented with their chili oil. the bokchoy was cooked well and happy they added lots of green onion. now to the improvement areas, the egg noodles were a bit overcooked and some of the beef was a bit too chewy/over braised. the good pieces of beef tasted great and they gave a lot. overall i would come back if i was craving some chinese food on a cold day! service was standard and friendly. food 3.75/5 service 4/5 ambiance 4.5/5 value 4/5

I haven't been here in many years. They cleaned it up significantly. I had the SingaporeThe service is good, food comes out fast. Rather generic tasting without much spice but not bad. Three stars is where I stand.

What a surprise highlight for the trip. Since we haven't had Asian food for a day and half, we decided to go a bit out of the way to Flagstaff before heading back to Williams. The menu was impressive. It has more items than restaurants in LA. I wouldn't say the food is the most amazing, but all pretty good. And the service was the best we've ever had. Northern Arizona University student server Tai was extremely nice. The beef in the beef noodle soup is one of the most tender I've had, the chili oil is one of the best I've had, and the seafood noodle soup had great soup. My boys keep saying we have to come back next time. And they have a nice Asian store connected with all good Asian stuff.

    Big Plate Chicken With Noodles

Came for dinner with my friends after seeing good reviews on google and an enticing menu. We ended up sharing family style and got the wood ear and tofu skin salad, big plate chicken, and stir fried potato. All the dishes were very good, especially the big plate chicken which was herbaceous and super fragrant. The noodles at the bottom soaked up the sauce perfectly. Service was the star of the show! The waitress with the pink hair was super friendly and attentive. Would come again when wanting Chinese in Flagstaff.

service was extremely slow especially for only having a few tables in the entire restaurant. My family and I got sat right when we came in but proceeded to wait for our server for almost 20 minutes. service wasn't good at all either, very slow, even our drinks took 10 minutes to come out. once i got my food it wasn't as good as I expected. small portion of shrimp and everything was really greasy and didn't even taste like asian cuisine. plus the restroom didn't even have any soap!

Really good brisket noodle soup, love the new interior as it recently got remodeled. Service was also excellent and they are also connected to an Asian market next door.

This is by far the best restaurant in flagstaff. We came here two times of the 3 days we stayed. I recommend the beef brisket noodle soup, mapo tofu, pickled veggie fish soup. The Hunan chicken is not good at all and not true to its name and doesn't look like the pictures. It was dry and I'm not sure why there's chili oil on top of the hunan chicken. Usually it's ginger green onion paste or something

Tofu and Pork Belly Dry Pot

Good things are happening at Tang Taste. This small cafe next to an Asian market in Flagstaff has remodeled its dining room and the ambience is cool and elegant. Still serving the delicious and authentic Chinese cuisine you usually have to go to coastal areas like Flushing or San Gabriel to find. On my latest visit I ordered the Tofu and Pork Belly pot. It came in its own wok over a small heater and was absolutely delicious. I also highly recommend the spicy bone-in chicken.

Disclaimer: Rarely 5 stars because there is always room for improvement…read more.. Honestly, I don't really want to write this review because it's one of those hidden gems that I sort of want to gatekeep, but I can't be selfish lol. This place has been around since 1985, at a couple locations, but currently they sit on a corner in the Restore shopping center. Waaaaay unassuming from the outside, but fear not, the menu is awesome. I've been here twice. The first time was a few months ago and we missed the lunch specials because of time, so we ordered off the regular menu. I had a huge bowl of war wonton soup filled with fresh chicken and shrimp and veg. These bowls are meant for sharing so I had two more meals from it. I'm also pretty sure I had the gyoza, all of which is made in house. My second visit was yesterday, a Wednesday at lunchtime. The restaurant itself is not huge, approximately 10-ish tables, but most were full. We were greeted promptly with jasmine tea - it was about 85 and humid that day, but I asked for a cup of ice and made some fabulously refreshing jasmine iced tea! Hit the spot! This time I ordered the mu-shu chicken lunch special. There are so many standard hunan options available like Kung Pao, sweet and sour, etc. each lunch comes with your choice of egg drop or hot and sour soup, served with a bowl of crispy wontons, white or fried rice and a mini egg roll. These portions are huge! For anywhere between $14.25-$14.55!!!! The mu-shu comes with a tangy plum sauce and two pancakes, tons of white meat chicken, bok choy, green onions...just so tasty. The chicken fried rice was a massive portion also, served on the same plate, so it all became one eventually. The soup was delicious, light and great amount of egg...the eggroll was typical and I'm not a huge fan, but it worked. But the mains are really just good down home eats. I literally had enough leftovers for another two meals. Hunan is family owned and ran...our server is the son and he is delightful and fun and engaging and thoughtful and just so lovely. Service is unpretentious and welcoming. It's an older building and the interior is what people would say is dated, but you aren't eating here for asthetics! It's off the beaten path off Route 66, but definitely worth going out of the way a bit. Flag has changed a lot in the five years I've been in AZ, and there is basically most fast food chains and other garbage, which is why I tend to love the little mom and pops that have history and longevity. And because it's located in Old Flagstaff you get more authenticity and less crowds and superficial, "trendy" restaurants. I'm old school, I like personable hospitality and good, quality, inexpensive eats. Definitely worth a visit!

Had a nice dinner here. Chinese is one of our comfort foods where we can all get something we love…read more Tashani(spelling) was really wonderful and had an aloha type of personality. The food was great and the portions were HUGE! They are family sized dishes so I'm sure most ppl have plenty to take home. Great service. Great food. Loved the complimentary tea. Can't go wrong with this place.
