We came after reading that this restaurant had the best Chinese food in Flagstaff. That may be true, but that doesn't mean it's great Chinese food. It's an odd spot in a strip center. Not sure what it was before but they didn't do much to it to make it their own. Oh, and it's also a shared space with the Asian market next door. That's where you go to pay your check. Someone cleaned off a table for us... most were occupied or recently had been. We ordered Honey Walnut Shrimp and Mu Shu Pork. I have never been asked if I wanted it over rice or with pancakes. We chose pancakes, though the rice might have been the better choice as the pancake was dry and crumbly. It was close to closing and they probably gave us what was left. The flavors of both dishes were "okay". The staff was pleasant and the meal was served relatively quickly. They were very hardworking. I will have to try another Chinese restaurant in town to assess whether it was indeed the best in town. read more

Best Chinese food in Flagstaff. I had tried every other place in Flagstaff and came up disappointed. Then I tried Tang Taste... superb!

This location should be avoided. There are many problems I will now list the problems: 1. Although the Hot and sour soup was very flavorful it was served almost cold. I believe that all hot soups should be served in accordance with the sanitary temperature being a minimum of 165 degrees F. This soup was served at about 110 degrees. This meant it was bacteria growth mixture. 2 I had the Orange Chicken this dish was served with the breaded chicken overcooked and it minimum amount of Orange Sauce. It took the waiter almost 15 minutes to get me additional sauce. 3. My wife had a broccoli & beef. It was served with rice and was also served with a a little sauce and the beef was overcooked and tough. Nice bright atmosphere and the place looked renovated....We were seated promptly and after a little delay, our order was taken....The waiter was helpful and quite speedy....The food came out pretty quickly and my wife and I shared the chicken yaki udon noodles and my son got the kimchi beef fried rice....The menu was quite extensive!! We also ordered the hot chili dumplings (needed even more spice) which were amazing and chicken egg rolls...This was a nice meal with plenty of food and glad I shared the noodles....For a busy weekend this was a great call and will make my way with family again...It is definitely one of the best in Flagstaff!! read more

I don't leave many reviews but I don't appreciate being disrespected. I know I look like a white guy but I came for real authentic Chinese food and got the "General Tso" menu. It was Christmas Eve and the server said they only have this "Americanized" menu for the night because of the holiday, but clearly the Chinese patrons were enjoying the good stuff from the Szechuan & Hunan menu. Also, they sat us at the far end next to a storage closet facing a wall when several normal and pleasant seats were available. Very unwelcoming and disrespectful. The food was horrible. The fried rice that I got as part of the lunch special seemed like it was a day old. We got the beef ramen, it was like chewing rubber. This was a horrible experience. They didn't charge my card on the day I went to eat and to my surprise they added a bigger tip than what I put down. I had to make a dispute regarding the matter. They finally made right, after giving me the round about...We should have walked right out after walking in and smelling strange odors..I do not recommend this place at all, unless you want bad food and to be over charged on tipping. read more

A very happy accident on a long road trip. We were hungry around Flagstaff so we got off 89, scrolled through restaurant listings for a few minutes, and picked a place that sounded good and cheap, followed an insanely circuitous route suggested by the rental car's satnav, and that other place turned out to be closed, though everything online indicated that place would be open. The nearest acceptable cuisine was then selected and since one in our party had a shellfish allergy it wasn't the crawfish place. I was very happy to see dishes like Cumin Lamb and Spicy Pig Kidney on the menu. There's nothing wrong with standard american-chinese fare like sesame chicken but I used to be able to go get stuff like that just a few blocks from home. There was a child at the table, so, no kidney. Organ meats a little too advanced for her. Next time i am in Flagstaff, I'll get it for sure. Chef Gao in Salt Lake City made an awesome pig kidney but sadly he is no longer with us. We got pork fried rice, beef chow fun, cumin lamb stir fried noodles, and spicy garlic pork belly. Our food was delivered very quickly. Abnormally quickly. If you twisted my arm and said that i had to say anything else about the service it would be that maybe if you're a bunch of gweilo like me and my party you might want to specify that you are eating family style. Initially, we didn't get personal plates and enough serving spoons but i can hardly blame someone legit enough to offer Pork Intestine Soup for not anticipating that four white people ordering four dishes wanted to eat family style. I wasn't sure what to expect with the spicy garlic pork belly but we are all about pork belly, garlic, and spicy so how could we go wrong? Didn't notice on the menu that it was listed as a cold plate. Then we were a little apprehensive that the pork belly might have been tough or rubbery but it was not - it was tender and very thinly sliced. A salad of sorts. Reminiscent of waterfall beef perhaps. Fresh cilantro, lettuce, maybe other greens i forget. I am not sure i would call what we got spicy but it was a revelation and the flavor profile was perfectly balanced. So good that i am going to annoy local Chinese chefs about it. The Beef Chow Fun was perfect. No notes. Give me more of it, if anything. I love cumin lamb but I'd never seen the stir-fried noodle version. The sauce was very red, it was utterly delicious. I strongly recommend it for people interested in branching out from more common chinese dishes. The hazard with pork fried rice is that the pork arrives in the form of prefabricated diced ham, but that's an acceptable hazard when you just want something with a little more going on than plain white rice. It was not just diced ham in there. It was a sliced pork with a good flavor. I don't go through flagstaff often, it had honestly been like 7 years since the last time, but if this place still exists the next time i go through, i will be stopping at this restaurant for sure. read more

First time here. We were going to another restaurant a few doors down but decided to try this restaurant. The interior looks very new, there is an Asian market next door. We were able to get some of our favorite snacks. We ordered from the lunch menu which comes with soup, spring roll, and crab Rangoon. My spouse ordered the orange chicken. I ordered the vegetable tofu with lo mein. We waited a while but the server assured us that the food would be coming out twice. Others who order after us received their meals first. We were informed it had to do with the deep fryer. Before the food came out we were told the cooks had forgotten our meal. The food came out and my food was cold...I let the server know and they made the order fresh. Because we had issues with our meals the server gave us a sweet and sour dish to try, it was hot and delicious. Our food came out and it was delicious the second time around. I don't order Chinese takeout often, but when I did it was from Hot Wok. I want to give praise to Tang Taste! Not only do they still offer what Hot Wok did, the menu has grown with more authentic dishes which is hard to find in AZ. The takeout bags are so nice they are reusable. The takeout utensils in each packet are chopsticks, a fork, spoon, napkin, and toothpick and they give you plenty of packets. I am going to happily order again. They go above and beyond. read more

Usually great service, but today I walked over and picked up some food and when I got back to my room 20 minutes later I opened it and I was missing a second set up white rice, soup, and wontons. I called and ask about what they could do about it and they just told me to walk back. I didn't really want to but they didn't offer any other options. So I walk back another 16 or so minutes back to get the food and see what they would do about the situation. When I get there there are 3 people around the front counter and mention the missing food. One of them hands it to me and I ask what they can do about the situation as I am about to waste another 30 minutes of my life walking and am about to go back to my room with Luke warm main dishes. To my shock one of them says just to take my food and walk back. After that I'm not leaving without something and within the next minute or so one of the other ones says all they can offer is $5 for my inconvenience when I spent $40 and wasted an hour trying to eat some food.
