This is a smaller outlet mall but that doesn't mean that you can't still get your retail therapy here. The layout is a simple arch, so park wherever you can find a close space and plan to walk out and then back. The walkway is nicely covered so you can still shop here in rainy or snowy weather but if it's windy (welcome to "blowing" rock), you're going to be cold and wet. There is also a small food court in the center. Handicapped access throughout with ramps adjacent to stairs plus dedicated handicapped parking. I have been to several Tanger Outlets and this one is the smallest I have seen. No Levi, Nike, Coach or Bose outlet stores here. Yeah, I did say Coach and no I don't carry a purse. It's a European carry all damn it! There are only two food places on the site, not that I planned on eating here. They do have one shoe store (Rack Room) and several clothing stores. Still missing the typical anchors. Worth a stop even if it has limited stores. We scored some good deals at the places we went to. read more

I am a HUGE Tanger Outlets fan. I've been to several different locations all up and down the East coast. This location is very clean, nicely landscaped, has a lot of good name brand outlet stores, but it happens to be one of my personal least favorites. There are only 20 outlet stores and two restaurants, which are both dessert shops. This location is not like the rest, it's actually pretty small, and looks more like an open faced strip mall. Typically other locations have rows and rows of stores, and a handful of restaurants. Some notable brands you can find here are Polo Ralph Lauren, Bass, J Crew, Banana Republic, Loft, and Gap. They also have a Carters and an OshKosh. read more

As small as this outlet is (fewer than 35 stores), we always enjoy shopping at Tanger Outlets when visiting Blowing Rock. We never fail to find good sales here - regardless of when we visit--and we like that the outlet is so close to the downtown area. The only store I feel is missing is Eddie Bauer. All of our other favorites, however, are here. And don't miss out on the LOFT store, which is located on the right at the main entrance. Having gone to school at Appalachian State, I came here to shop on occasion back in the late 90's. I'm really happy Tanger "stepped it up" & brought some better shopping choices to this location. The layout is nice, much better than the larger Tanger Outlet sites. There is plenty of parking & you're not wearing yourself out walking from end to end. The downfall is not enough eateries; however, I guess they don't plan on you staying for a long time. :D read more

Quaint outlet shopping in blowing rock. Though very well done this is easily the smallest outlet mall I've ever seen. As such the offerings of stores are limited. There is a small food court with a few options. Some of the stores were offering fairly decent holiday sales when we went. If you're looking to spend a day shopping at the outlet mall, I'd look elsewhere. read more

We spent a fortune($200) on several great post China virus deals. Thanks to Jockey and Gap stores, vending machine and restrooms being clean. Boo Ralph Lauren store for requiring face masks. You lost out on my money. Great job Tanger associates. read more

Small selection of stores (compared to other Tanger outlets). All the stores seemed to have the same sale. Everything was "50%" off and sometimes, clearance items were an extra % off. Truthfully, most things were still about the same price you'd find if you happened to find the item on sale at the store, so there was no real bargain hunting here. There is a Kilwin's and some type of "Grill" in the shopping center if you're hungry. read more

I like this Tanger the best because it is not too big. They have the stores I like and it is easy to shop the whole outlet in a few hours. The location is beautiful and very close to the parkway. I really like the kitchen store and Gap outlets. They do have a restaurant but I have not eaten there in years. Kilwins is a great place to stop for a snack. read more

This was one of the smallest outlet malls I have ever seen... I don't even know if I would call it a mall... A collection of stores would probably describe it better... Of course, I wouldn't let a thing like a scanty number of stores stop my shopping plans... I hit Aeropostale for a couple shirts, but I did some real damage in the Banana Republic outlet... $70 for $225 in product isn't too bad for me... And I didn't even bring coupons... lol Sadly, the boyfriend had to sit this one out... There were no Nike, Adidas, Calvin Klein or Guess stores at all... The food "court" is a burger place, so no hanging out there, either... He didn't mind, though... Apparently, sleeping in the car is just as good as shopping at this mall... Very limited shopping here and just like other Tanger locations you can find deals but nothing amazing in my opinion. I did like the fact there was a J.Crew outlet here. I'm not sure if that is the same as the other locations, so that was new to me. This place is a nice little break if you are in the area and looking to kill some time. They do have a few places to grab a bite to eat but I really wouldn't expect them to be that great. They look like little hole in the wall type spots. Some other places there are the Ralph Lauren, A.Loft, Banana Republic, shoe stores and some bath and kitchen outlet stores. read more

This doesn't come anywhere close to the Tanger center in Mebane, but it'll do to kill a couple of hours while you wait for the bar at Twigs down the street to open. Most of the stores here have pretty small square footage and it's mostly middle-market stuff and doesn't have the higher-end outlets some of the newer Tangers do. I will give a special shout-out to the Ralph Lauren outlet here, where I've scored some amazing deals and some undefined coupon discounts sometimes appear when you get to the register. Parking can be a cluster when it's busy, so be ready for that. Don't plan to eat here--selections are limited to say the least. read more

Super place to find great deals! They have a great variety of stores, and if you join the Tanger membership club you get tons of coupons and can work towards earning extra free items. Plus the Tanger card is good for any other Tanger outlets you go to. The Blowing Rock location is always clean and well staffed. The salespeople are always nice and super helpful. I have never had an issue with parking either, and everything is handicap accessible. I love going there, it is a great place to have a girl's day trip. read more

So.. Just for clarity, did those of you who were disappointed in the size of this outlet mall think you were visiting a metropolis? It's Blowing Rock, NC and surprisingly everything is not about the tourists. We try to keep it small town here, which unfortunately is why it remains a haven for tourists. Sigh... Anyway, there are lots of great stores here and like aforementioned pro, you won't wear yourself out walking from one end to the other. Banana, Gap, JCrew, Van Heusen, Levi, Loft, I could go on... They've really worked to bring in quality stores over the years which in my opinion is better than walking for hours around a huge outlet mall and only going in 3 stores. If you prefer that, by all means keep visiting Mebane, Myrtle Beach, and Gaffney, SC.. We won't miss you. read more

Pretty small compared to other Tanger Outlets, but relative to the area I think it's appropriate. Has good stores, some good variety. Has little rides for kids... 50 cents, so bring quarters. Good place for some shopping, overall. Eat before or after you come though because there are little to no food options available. read more

I agree that the # of stores is limited, but I love Coach and every visit find that one bag I gotta have and at a great price! Also, while this Kilwins location is not as fun as the one downtown, it still has the same great fudge and ice cream! The burger place is good enough for a quick bite and they often have some neat art for sale which is nice to look at. JCrew is here and often you can find a good deal. Got a great gift here at quite a discount. there is enough here to keep me coming back. read more

There is a mediocre selection of stores here; some very good deals at Van Heusen, Gap, and Bass. I was disappointed that there is not ONE electronics outlet here. My wife and I were on the hunt for an HDMI accessory, and came up very short. read more

My husband and I stopped at the Banana Republic outlet so he could get some jeans before we went hiking. I wandered around, waiting for him, looked at a necklace on a display, etc. When it came time to check out, the manager accused me of stealing the necklace which was in plain sight. I have never been treated so badly by not just a salesperson but the manager. It was appauling. read more

On a recent vacation to Blowing Rock I stopped by this outlet mall when rainy weather prevented any other outdoor activities. Not much of a selection in terms of stores, however, a couple of the stores (GAP & Loft) did have deals that made it worth coming. Overall a nice destination if you are in the area and looking for a quick shopping trip. read more

Being from Reading, PA, the original "Outlet Capital of the World," I am a long-time outlet shopper. This center is somewhat small (e.g., compare it to one like Sawgrass or Concord Mills), but it is also very quiet, especially when we went, in March. We found some good bargains and had fun. The center has some nice stores and is very clean. The area is wonderful, and there is a lot to do. I did happen to visit when the Customer Service Center was under construction, and that was a bit of a pain to locate. Put a sign up indicating that shoppers need to turn the corner to find the temporary trailer! I woudn't visit a Tanger center without getting my coupon book! read more

What can you expect for a small mountain outlet mall? It is very limited in number of stores. The stores themselves don't have a good variety of styles and sizes. It's not a bad place to spend a rainy afternoon, but otherwise I would not have gone shopping for anything specific here. read more

Labor Day weekend crowd was out and shipping. Each stores' staff still seemed happy to help. Lots of stores didn't interest us by than cane Van Husen. Quality and quantity of merchandise for men and women. Great sake and 3times the reward points. Arrived home with trousers that didn't fit and I called for alternatives to a solution. Even still in a Labor Day weekend rush and they took their time over the phone to help me. Nice read more

The Tanger Outlets in Blowing Rock, ROCK. I was there just this past Saturday. I visited several stores and made several purchases. The sales were awesome, many items were marked down 60-70%, then as a member of tanger outlets received additional discounts. Wow, don't mind shopping when you get so much for such good deals.... The Shoppes at Blowing Rock is a wonderful, quaint shopping experience. The selection of stores is great, although shoppers must beware of shops who follow much stricter coupon policies than others. The Kitchen Collection only allows the use of a coupon on one item, for example, but other stores allow shoppers to use more coupons, such as Jockey and Wilsons Leather. The Corning Revere Outlet was a better shopping experience than the Kitchen Collection, but Corning is no longer available at the Shoppes. I miss the London Fog Outlet, but the Wilson Leather Outlet is new and offers fine outer ware. And the introduction of a Subway is awesome. I highly recommend the Shoppes at Blowing Rock. read more
