Delicious Japanese place in Saint Augustine. Ordered the shrimp tempura and world golf roll. I don't east spicy tuna so they were kind enough to make it with regular just for me. Everything was crispy yet delicious and rolled to perfection. We were even given 2 pieces of fried roll as a start. The waitress was so kind enough to give us extra vegetables with the salmon teriyaki dinner which was absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly. The clear soup was flavorful and amazing g as well. My friend and I had visited the Fluffy Cow Cafe, so when we googled ideas for lunch, we came across Tank's. It was a short drive from Fluffy Cow, so we headed to it. It is tucked behind Publix, and we ended up being the only customers in there. We were greeted warmly by the hostess and seated by a window table immediately. Our server came out and asked us what we would like to drink. In addition to water I ordered a hot green tea, which came out in a little cup with a side kettle for refills. I used the Yelp AI to choose the Sushi Lunch, which came with sashimi and a California roll, plus a side of clear soup. My friend ordered the sushi lunch as well. We were surprised with a small starter of imitation crab with cream cheese and lightly fried, and our server brought us fried banana as a dessert. The food was delicious, the attention was quick and personable, and we were so happy we are here for lunch. We highly recommend! read more

We got take out from here this week and it was decent. We really liked the crab wontons. You only got 6 for 10, which is a little high. My brother got a lunch special with a salmon and tuna roll. He enjoyed both. I got the 007 roll. It was okay, but didn't meet the $20 price tag. There was an odd yellow sauce on the top. Overall, it was ok, but I wouldn't be running back. read more

Had a great meal here at Tanks. I really loved the tuna tataki, it has a great sauce added to it. Seaweed salad is also good and a large potato is given. I liked the fried calamari as well but it was a bit overcooked. The restaurant itself is pretty small but is very clean and the waitress we had was attentive and kind. I walked in recently to place a lunch order. The reception was very nice. My issue is that I paid $67 for lunch and frankly it was not even close to being worth the price. Food was below average. Honestly, how this had a 4.5 rating beats me!! I went here based on the rating! Y'all!!! The chicken was with NO seasonings!! So dry..! And they just put the weirdest tasting teriyaki sauce on top and called it a day. Worst part, had the sushi, only took 2 bites!! Knew it was bad!! It was terrible. To be completely honest, it was the best we have had in a very long time. Our family takes Crab Rangoon seriously. Over the years we have probably ordered it in more than a thousand restaurants, and according to my mother, I have been eating it since the moment I could chew. One thing that immediately stood out at Nori was that they do not cut corners on the ingredients. The balance between the cream cheese and the crab was absolutely perfect, which is surprisingly rare. Too often restaurants overload the cream cheese and you can barely taste the crab. At Nori, the crab flavor actually shines through, which is exactly how it should be. The texture was just as impressive. Each piece was perfectly fried, light, crispy, and golden without being greasy. You could tell right away that the kitchen takes real pride in how they prepare their food. For anyone who loves Crab Rangoon the way our family does, this appetizer alone is worth the visit. The Culinary Duo officially gives it two very enthusiastic thumbs up. If you stop by Nori, make sure this is the first thing you order.

I want to start by saying the sushi I ordered was ok. Nothing special but not the worst I've had either. My major complaint was how a mistake on their end was handled. I called in a to go order of 3 sushi rolls. When I arrived, I paid and was given my order. When I got back to my car I thought the total was a little higher that I had anticipated so I checked the receipt stapled to the bag - sure enough they had given me a tuna avocado roll vs. the peanut avocado roll I had ordered, which also happened to be a few bucks more than what I had ordered. Not a huge deal, but I did want the correct roll so I went back in and let them know. The lady helping me took back my food as if she were going to get rid of the incorrect roll and replace it. I mentioned I didn't mind keeping the incorrect roll if they were just going to throw it away but she made it seem like they were going to keep it. Fine enough, but I expected to be offered a refund for the price difference. Instead, she came back a few minutes later with my correct roll added and stated they were going to let me keep the wrong roll for free but they normally would give it to the help in the kitchen since they generally can't afford to buy their own (?) and it makes their day to get free food. Wow. Way to make me feel bad about keeping the $6 mistake roll they overcharged me for to begin with. Needless to say I won't be returning here ever. read more

It is mind boggling to me how this place gets more than 2 stars from anyone!!!???!!! I eat sushi at least 4-5 times a week and this is by far the WORST I have ever had (and I have been so desperate that I've had gas station sushi before). I have been here dozens of times and the sushi has gotten worse and worse smaller and smaller every time I come. I keep hoping that the next time I go here it will be better , but it has only declined to where it's just not acceptable any more. I know times are tough but don't keep skimping on size, quality and freshness to keep making your profit margins higher. If you have great sushi people will bang down your doors. I am completely baffled by the high ratings this place gets, either people that eat here don't get out much or there's a lot of fictitious reviews because there is no way this rates even 2stars. You can travel north a few miles or east a few mile and get FAR SUPERIOR sushi, I mean, this place does not hold a candle to the sushi place in Palencia. So if you haven't been to this place, there's sushi places not too far away that are SOOO much better and if you have been here and say you like it, do yourself a favor and try somewhere else and find out what this place has been passing off to you as sushi............. read more
