An event that sells guns, ammo, and encourages you to exercise your second amendment right, sign up for conceal carry, but will not let you carry in your loaded gun? Very hypocritical and validates the argument of anti gun groups of "guns are not safe and should not be allowed". Come on Tanner, put your policy where your beliefs are? Second comment. I really want to give this a stellar review, but the current Obama fueled gun insanity has turned this show into a overpriced scalpers nightmare. You can find guns at full blown retail or over all day long, but you would be better off going to your local gun store. Finding an actual deal here is virtually impossible, so don't even try. Really the only reason to come anymore is to see cool guns you might not otherwise see, and to buy high cap magazines that the man says you cannot have. read more

WOW - a gun nut's fantasy! I wandered around this place for hours drooling. I was looking for a specific collectible and did not find it but got a few good ideas from the vendors there where else to look. If you are leery of crowds be prepared - this place was packed with people and vendors (I went on a Saturday - right before Christmas!) I bought some reload ammo for a very decent price but I will see what kind of bargain I got when I go to the range and shoot it. read more

I went out to the Tanner Gun Show this past weekend and I have to say I was impressed. It was pretty crowded, but we were still able to get to the tables okay. It is in the Pavilion building of the enver Merchandise Mart which is a bit tricky to find. It's not the main entrance to the mart. It's in the Northwest corner of the Mart complex right behind the the Comfort Inn Motel. You'll find just about everything imaginable relating to guns, hunting or outdoor stuff. I was there in search of a concealed carry gun and there were tons of options to choose from. The prices were all over the map, so take your time to look around and you will most likley find a good deal on what you are looking for. We also saw lots of ammo dealers, custom holsters, laser optics, etc. Most of the dealers were pretty cool and were willing to give some advice, but just like in the "real" world" there were some jerks there too. I wound up getting a good deal on a ruger LCP and some ammo. My girlfriend still refuses to carry a gun but we got her some pepper spray! I'm told it is less crowded on Sundays and that there are good deals to be had Sunday afternoon since dealers would rather sell stuff than pack it back up. Maybe I will give that a shot next time. read more

Crowded, horrible parking and everything is way overpriced. I've been several times with the intention on buying a gun. But everything was over priced, one dealer was selling a used ruger p345 for around 600 bucks. Everything else was at or very near list price. read more

I'm just over it. I've been going to the Tanner shows now for at least 20 years, but the last few years have sucked. One of the main reasons is the vendors selling used guns are so overpriced it's just stupid. For example. Many vendors had used Gen 1 and 2 Glocks in okay at best condition and they wanted more for them than getting a brand new gun at a gun store (not at the show were all the guns seem to be overpriced anyway). Also. One of the vendors was selling a used and worn out FNH FNX 45 (non-tactical) for $750 with 1 mag and no box. I found a couple vendors selling the same gun new for $719 with box and two 15 round mags with factory warranty. I brought with me a Highly customized Gen 4 Glock that I have about $1,400 into in brand new condition. One of the vendors asked me to show her the gun and asked me what I wanted for it. Before I could get past what I have into it she just said "NOPE" and walked away. She didn't even let me tell her what I would take for it. Anyway. None of the vendors wanted to give me more than about $300 for it (I just bought it for $650 and put another $750 into customizing it). But they are selling old scratched up junky, cheap brand no name guns for much more than that. Last summer I had a guy that was selling guns at a table (working through a dealer to buy and sell guns) I was selling a $950 HK pistol very slightly used asking $600. He offered me $500, then wanted me to pay for his backround check on top of that only wanting to give me $480 for the gun. Then the next month at the show he had it out on the table for $850. REALLY???? These vendors are like vulchers. As you walk by if you have a gun box in your hands they ask what you're selling or "Watcha got" Then when you tell them what you have they ask how much. It's almost ALWAYS too much for what they want to give you and ALWAYS LOW BALL what they want to give you. But if you look at what they are selling and their CRAP is sitting around for a long, long time at some of the tables you know why they want to low ball you on the good stuff. AND, on top of it all if you want to use a credit or debit card there's a 3% charge. This means on top of the deal they add an additional 3% of the total I did find 2 honest vendors that had great prices and wouldn't charge the 3%. They both told me that it's not right but the Denver Mart lets the vendors get away with it. Also as a heads up. Most of the vendors at the show charge upwards of $20 for the standard $7 backround check. I ask them why they charge this extra $13 and they say it's to cover their costs most of the time. SO to sum it all up. You CAN and probably WILL get much better deals at actual gun stores as I have found out. Plus you will have recourse if you need to go back to them for any reason, and not have to pay an extra 3% of the already insane prices. So save your time and hard earned money and stay away from the Tanner Gun Show. read more

I've been going to the tanner for around 12 years, ever since I was 18. I always tell myself I'm never gonna go again since the parking is so bad and it's so crowded. On top of that a lot of the vendors (not all) are asking full MSRP for their guns and a lot of the smaller vendors ask astronomical prices for there guns it's almost as if they don't even want to sell it and just display it instead. That being said from time to time I have found the odd great deal and that's what forces me to go back, that unknown that this time might be the time I find something I want even though the show and the stuff there has changed little over the years with about 1/3 of the vendors selling stuff that isn't even gun related such as wallets and wood carvings ect very much like the flea market read more

I have been going to this for about 12 years now and it has deteriorated. No deals whatsoever - the only thing I ever purchased at a show was an OLD .22 for my son. I purchased a firearm at a local store for $150 LESS than multiple tables at the show had it for - and it was the EXACT same firearm. read more
